Politics In Eurobeat Songs

Post by para_rigby » 20 Jul 2006, 21:39

So I heard this song, "Captain America" by Donna. Tell me if this isn't some sort of snide commentary on America. I rolled on the floor laughing listening to this song...

Donna - Captain America

You're ready to get instruction for a
secret task
24 hours away until the moment last
You're on the line of the fire risking all
the time
No private life is allowed to such a
hero guy

But when she looks into your eyes you
can see
How hot is her desire
Hang up your phone and if you
receive a call
Don't go!!!
Relax war is over

Captain America
You come on strong with a big smile
stuck up on your face
Captain America
You think you got to take care of all
the human race

You're keeping close to your bad a
super loaded gun
You think that clean up the streets is
such a lot of fun
You can do everything right we know
it yes you can
No private life is allowed to our
superman

leslie parrish's "i say no" is still one of my fav euro tracks!

Leslie Parrish - I Say No

The land of the golden dreams
I've searched for the "Land of free"
I've traveled around the world
But what I've found is

Just more, more, power
In the hand of just few men
Claiming control over planet earth
Just human we're meant to be
Just one world for you and me then
They seem to forget
That life is all we got

I say

No wars, no destruction
No more killed in action
No bombs in the future
Freedom to love
This is the thing we need

No wars, no aggressions
We need more compassion
No tears in the future
Freedom to be
People who live together

The land of the human beings
I've searched for the land of trees
I've traveled to America
But what I've found is

i like such lyrics...

Eurobeat Girls - Saving The World

One day is enough to change our minds
Take away all the pain from the people's life
One day is enough to take control
We all will be able to survive

Carry on carry on a dream never dies
You and me you and me and all the guys
I believe, I believe we can make a brighter day
And live together

Mission 1 "Saving the world"
You can tell me I'm a dreamer
I'm not the only one
Mission 2 "Stop all the wars"
Turn the weapons into flowers
'Cause we can do it

One day all the nations will be one
Start again to believe in the promise land
One day you won't see the children cry
Let's make all the tears become a smile

This one really isn't political, but it's still got a revolutionary message. Especially with a line like "One day all the nations will be one."

Still, regardless, I think it's a good song. ^_^
Be the sound you feel inside your voice!

How about Mark Farina - Russian?

Russian Russian Russian Russian

Just like America the perestroika is getting stronger
It's not to camera this man of America
No more waiting
In a few more years we'll be together
So no disguise of more and more
America and Russia's forever
Making love and peace for no more war

Russian Russian baby baby Russian
That's for me and you and the things we do
Russian Russian baby baby Russian
So we love the man that made us two

Hit my America the perestroika is changing timer
It's not so dangerous because political descripto facto
Come on let's go and keep us together
It will be right it will be strong
America and Russia's forever
Making love and peace for no more war

Also, if you listen closely to the beggining of Captain America - Space Fighter you can hear some guy talking about some political mumbo jumbo.

Interesting. The lyrics for the cited three songs were written by Clara.

In Captain America she seems to make sarcastic remarks on America
as the World's policeman.

2 more politically charged Delta songs

Dr. Love - State Of The Nation

Big brother tell me what's going on
John Wayne is riding on a crazy horse
Big brother tell me what to do
To fix the thing before is getting worse

We just got to drop some bomb
Storm the desert such a pleasure
We just got to keep on going on
March united ! hippie ya yeah !

Boom boom - state of the nation
Boom boom - fire so far
Boom boom - what situation
God bless them all !
Stripes and stars

Boom boom - state of the nation
Boom boom - what will it be ?
Boom boom - we need salvation
This should have been
Land of free

Big brother tell me that's not true
I had a dream in which I have believed
Big brother tell me you're not through
John Wayne is rocking rolling in his grave

Nando - Black Or White

Here we are, living on the edge of the world
Here we are, trying hard to save our soul
So here we are, feeling nothing can stop this war
Fighting, running, kicking people to the floor

But sometime's hard to say if we are losing, winning
How can you tell?
Be right or wrong
Reality seems to be made up of
Differend shades of grey

Life is...

Black or white
You have to choose your side
We will fight
No matter if it's
Wrong or right
We'll ride the lighting
Day and night
Until we will be winning

Here we are, feeling right on top of the world
Here we are, feeling mean right to the core
So here we are, asking for an end to this war
Hear the enemy is knocking on the door

And here's an extra hyper techno sample :P

Dr. D.O.P.E & Bulldozer - I Wanna Go Up

Well I wanna know Goddamit
Why can't I get on the space shuttle and just go
I wanna go up
You know what I mean?... yeah I understand...
Yeah me too man... I wanna go up too
Just because I'm from Mexico
Don't mean I can't get up there either... you know...

I gotta a one way ticket goin' up
Space shuttle "Discovery" gonna chance my luck
The president's coming too
He wanna know why I wanna paint the White House blue
He brought along his wife and the cat
And asked me to sit in the back
He must've been smokin' crack or some shit like that
I laughed and he looked at me strange
The F.B.I. started asking my name
But before I could open my mouth
The muthafucker tried to throw me out
My heart started pumpity pump
And I shitted in my pants with a lump
The smell made everybody choke and cough
And the space shuttle canceled lift off

YO! I WANNA GO UP up up
Let me go! I WANNA GO UP up up... get on board let's go

They ran for the door at once
And Bill was smokin marajuana blunts
He said let's go take a chance
But first you gotta change your pants
Yea, I got cleaned real quick
Now I gotta figure out how to start the shit
Cause I'm in a room filled with buttons
I guess I'll press away like it ain't nothin
The count down sweet and soft
But Bill jumped out before we took off
I think I'll go to mars
Relax, kick back to the max with some real stars
No economy, no recession
No bullshit government filled with weapons

Come on, chance your luck
Count down begins, and let's go

This is kind of against the point, but I've been wondering what the lyrics to "Russian" by Mark Farina were, so thanks for those!

Back on topic....
As Oresama said, I've also noticed some snide comments about America in Delta material. I've heard all the songs mentioned, and noticed those lyrics as well. I personally don't care and shrug them off. People have their own opinions about everything.

Elmdor mentioned "Space Fighter"; he's talking about, I'm sure, when President Bush was consulting the U.N. (mainly Europe) with the subject of going to war with Hussein. "We see George Bush facing a stiff diplomatic test; he has to convince his allies that his agend isn't just in America's interest, but Europe's as well." Ay, whatever.

Frankly, politics in music irritates me, and that's why I try to avoid those songs above.

SHEREE "Ronnie Talks To Russia"
music&lyrics: Dieter Bohlen(Germany)-1989.

Cheek to cheek
They're talking who is your pick
The king of clowns of our town
But I'm scared of the drum, babe.
Cheek to cheek
Baby, who you can win
Silver clouds never cry
But I fly, always fly.
Just believe in the night yeah
My heart is beating
Believe in the night
New-York New-York New-York

Ronnie talks to Russia
Above the : a man
Believe in what?
What does it change?
What does it change in this world?
Ronnie talks to Russia
Champain is nice with caviar
What does it change?
What does it change in this world?

Face to face
Don't kill it, Ron, it's a race
Of lost feeling of love
You can try it enough for me.
Heart to heart
Life is just falling apart
If that mountain's too high
:. never fly
Just believe in the night yeah
My heart is beating
Believe in the night
New-York New-York New-York

8) I especially love Jackson O's ""Freedom" All about the nations getting along together and knocking down the race barriers. To me this song could also be political Eurobeat.
Jackson 'O - Freedom

From the silent of the mountain
To the rumours of the city
Love is like a rainbow for all the people

Without frontier without limits
Black and white in touch together
Ready for the world
Full of peace and freedom

Everybody in touch together
The life is harmony
We can change the world forever
Only with the passion
Today with love we can fly to the heaven
Kiss me forever sing with me

We sing for freedom
Over the world
We sing for freedom
Only for love
We sing for freedom
Humanity
Set them free set them free set them free

We sing for freedom
Over the world
We sing for freedom
Only for love
We sing for freedom
Sweet harmony
Set them free set them free set them free

Far from London far from Tokyo
We can stop the blood and fighter
Many people ask for special prayer

Ready for a new dimension
Full of peace and love attention
Waiting for a place
Full of satifactions
