It reminds me of another Eurobeat song but I can't tell which one. Also, the pitch is nightcore-like. I don't know if I should think this is good or bad. Maybe we'll get the song on one of the upcoming SEBs. Then, I can say more. By now, I don't think I purchase the whole song. :/
!!! I LOVE IT! Bring on those chipmunk vocals! We need some variant to today's plain vocals. Wish other labels would start pitching their vocalists like Hi-NRG Attack use to do with Bazooka Girl/Nikita Jr/Louise

Mela went down in flames in this song. It was a task just to sit through it. The vocals were terrible. The melody was aishu style; which I likes, but the structure sounded chaotic and not in a good HRG Attack way. It had some vibe of an annoying "clubby" sounding bassline. I'm with lebon on tyhis one, though I'm pretty sure we hate it for different reasons. I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't make the SEB 231 cut.

I don't think you have to worry about it. It wouldn't make sense for Avex to pull a track that will be 4 months old (at the time of 231). I'm sure the other labels, and even Saifam, will have a fresh batch of tracks. And with the 4 month break, hopefully there will be some inspiration put back into the sound.

It just hit me!!!!! This song sounds like one of S3RL's UK Hardcore tracks when he uses Tamika for vocals. That's probably why I like this song.

I actually kinda like this - it's melodically quite appealing, but of course I understand why people are hating on it. I like the thicker kick drum sound, and the aishu vocal line is very addictive.

Would I rather the vocals were pitched down slightly? Probably. But for all the crap that Asia puts out there nowadays, I commend them for taking the initiative to try something different. ;)

That's what stood out to me the most, especially the harder drum.

I do this purely so that you guys can hopefully understand what I hear in this Mela track... I've pitched the original down and then increased the BPM back to the original so that the chipmunk vocals aren't as much of a distraction anymore.

Sound quality isn't great, but you get the idea - for me, this track has far more of the classic melodic stylings of the female-led Asia track of old - I keep getting elements of "Yellow Butterfly" by Milk & Coffea at certain parts for example, along with a few other non-SEB tracks.

^ That makes me hate this song so much less. I still don't love it, but the vocals sound so much less disgusting.

If the original had a little bit less pitch than your edit, the song would be fantastic.

I had a feeling that might be the case for some people - don't get me wrong, I understand that it's an acquired taste to have the vocals pitched to "Nightcore" levels, but I think it's such a shame that a song with so much potential has been effectively ruined for many because of the crazy production decisions of the writers/producers.

Glad that I could at least help you guys to discover a little of what myself and Bonkers hear in this song ;)

I have no idea what "Nightcore vocals" are , but if the original vocals of that Mela song have anything to do with it, than My life will be so much better if I never come across "nightcore style" again.

BTW, its amazing what litle downpitching can do to a song. I might just purchase it and do the same exact thing you did to it.

By "Nightcore style", we mean extremely pitched vocals. On YouTube, you can listen to some examples. As far as I know, there are "real" Nightcore remixes and many more "fake" remixes. Those fakes are just pitched and speeded up versions of random songs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34xXp0f-j0M - I'm not 100% sure, but I think this one is a real Nightcore version.

I'm 99.9999999% sure the only "Nightcore" is the fake one (all tracks listed as a remix are just sped up trance/house tracks). There is a huge difference between a track produced at 150bpm with chipmunky vocals, and taking that same track and speeding it up to 170+bpm. I love chipmunky vocals, but not chipmunky vocals sped up by 20-30 bpm. The more you speed a track up, the thinner the bass/instruments/vocals get, which is why their videos sound like crap.

Nightcore came about after the DJ Cammy era. DJ Cammy was the same thing: speeding up trance songs to Happy Hardcore tempo, and...at the time...the younger candy ravers in North America (especially USA) who just reached 18-20 year old loved these videos, thinking they were real happy hardcore tracks.

Here's a Nightcore "version" of Nuage-I Just Want To Keep You Hanging On I found a few months ago

There are some songs available for free download, those should be the real remixed songs. Also, there are some people commenting that Nightcore first was a DJ duo and later became a "genre of fakes".
For example:
nightcore is dj duo... later become a genre.... 99% of the songs that are in this page are not from nightcore.... they're just fanmade nightcore.... whitch should be tagged as a remix not nightcore itself.
