I have no idea why some people are still presuming 'Try Me' was originally sung by Elena Gobbi. Not only is it extremely obvious that it was Gordon behind the vocals, but we already went over this about a month ago in this thread. Geez.

Other than that, I almost fully agree with the_ditz's review. The only discrepancy would be our opinions on 'Doctor Love 2009' and 'Too Young to Fall in Love'; I thought they were the real abominations of the disc, along with 'Ike Ike 2009'.

This does not contribute whatsoever to the topic, but: ditz, you made me giggle like a little girl. XD Your review was well-done, but I started giggling as I read it... That is all... Good job. :]

Yeah, he's got quite an entertaining style of reviewing anything, but always in a good, informative way.

What made me giggle is that you referred to him by his real name, even though he generally prefers to use aliases all the time (not just in naming eurobeat artists)!

SUPER EUROBEAT VOL. 193 ....
Pretty much agree on all levels, except I kinda liked Ike Ike 2009 rendition.

Hung Up, Try Me and Looka Bomba all sounded like lazy remekes to me. Hung Up actually had the audacity to use the same lame riff from Madonna's song. That's super lazy for some one as talented as Farina.

....beleive it or not I thought that mini mix at the start actually showed some originality on the deejay's part. Much more entertaining than the previous ones.

the_ditz
and Christine's vocals have thankfully been brought down from the stratosphere so she no longer sounds like she is auditioning for the next Chipmunks movie.
One of the few TIMEs I actually liked Christines Hyper vocals was on the original. I always thought the original had a Hyper NRG feel to it, like songs like Stop Limit Line's Crazy For You and David R. Jones- Toy Boy. She also kinda sounded like Denyse Lepage from 80's Disco group ,Lime. As if anyone knows what I'm talking about.LOL!

Oh noes you didn't just call ABBA lame! :O

Then again, when Hung Up was popular on the radio, whenever I heard it playing somewhere I was always, "Hey! They're playing Gimme Gimme Gimme! Oh... Wait... No... It's that stupid Madonna song... Damn."

Just to clarify a couple of things, as I don't think my review was written as well as it could have been...

I was aware that Annerley did the original Try Me vocals. I was more expressing my disappointment that she'd hijacked the Lolita alias instead of using her own (Lolita is currently Elena, so I was surprised that this new release uses the alias, even though it was the original alias that recorded the original).

As for the complete balls-up with Sandro being a Go-Go Girls member - oops, my bad! Of course, I meant to say Domino and Elena Gobbi XD

And I'm glad I managed to give you a little chuckle Sadie. I do try to make my reviews light-hearted and I'm glad you enjoyed reading it.

ditz (or should I say Gary now? XD) : Blame ABeatC's laziness for not actually remaking songs for this album, but simply remixing. *still angry* haha

I only really like Eurogrooves, Dima and SAIFAM on this album. The rest was average at best. Even Sinclaire disappointed, but what would you except from a remake of a song that was perfect already. Bad Desire shouldn't have been touched either.

I never heard Madonna's version, but I like Hung Up a lot! (including Abba's riff) :) I already bought that one months ago on Juno.

I agree with you that the mini mix is actually good. It's one of the best tracks of the album. Even the short pieces of the very boring second half of the album sound good in this mix.

"Owowowooo babe we're gonna love tonite!!!" as if I would not know Lime :P

Saifam's remix of Hung Up was really lazy. It was pretty much the exact same thing as their In.Deep cover that appeared on Dancemania a few years back but a bit faster and with a different opening and a eurobeat bass. But still it has the Gimme Gimme Gimme riff so it owns my soul...
OMG that should totally be an SEB Theme...
SUPER EUROBEAT VOL. 19X ~LET'S ABBA!!!~

I think keeping the riff is essential to the song, but maybe they could have added a few synth solos to line up with this rendition :)
