Not liking SlowRG this time. I do enjoy Screaming Out The Power though kind of, especially the riff. Some of the rest of the stuff on this album is pretty bad too. It goes downhill after track 3... but hey they're just samples so dunno how full song is yet.

Chick tunes here are mostly awesome!!
Which makes this a potentially decent SEB...

(Yet machismo part is pretty skipworthy..)...
Maybe i'll attach to them Valuev's shaving picture.

:!: = Among the best of the decade
 = Excellent
:D = Very Good
:) = Good
:| = So-so
:( = Weak
 = Terrible

1. AAA / HAWAIIAN ROLLER COASTER RIDE (EUROBEAT REMIX) - 03:12
10206/clip-AVCD-10206-01.asx
This is not the speedy track that I expected with "roller coaster" in the title, but it's actually very infectious. Even though it's J-Euro, it still sounds very much like an SCP production, and the synth sounds awesome from what I hear.

2. THE SNAKE / FREEDOM RIDE (SEB VERSION) - 04:12
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-02.asx
Sounds like a pretty strong performance by The Snake, but in comparison to songs like Spirit Go Wild and Queen Of Mean, it sounds very dry and average.
:)

3. KAIOH / IT'S LIKE A FIRE (EXTENDED VERSION) - 04:46
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-03.asx
This doesn't really break any boundaries for the GGM label. I want something a lot darker and melodicallly broader. A very average song that I'll probably forget about eventually, in contrast to the recent masterpieces by Leo River and Manuel.
:|

4. LOUISE / SCREAMING OUT THE POWER (EXTENDED) - 05:38
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-04.asx
Another very cliche and average song for the label's standards. It's not bad, but it's so basic and unexciting that it probably won't last me more than only a handful of plays.
:|

5. GARCON / ON THE TOP AGAIN (EXTENDED) - 05:52
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-05.asx
Now this is a lot more like it. This is definitely a prime example of when Hi-NRG Attack actually puts some serious effort into their music. The tune of this is fresh and interesting, and the synth sounds quite catchy from what I hear so far. This should easily be the best track by the label so far of this decade.

6. NATHALIE / I'LL REMEMBER WHY I LOVE YOU (EXTENDED MIX) - 05:01
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-06.asx
With a title like this, I didn't really expect a loud, energetic follow-up to Live It Up!. The chorus of this sounds rather meh, but the bassy production gives it a bit of a unique tinge. Not great, but if the rest of it's well-done, I could be looping it quite a bit.
:)

7. POWERFUL T. / LOUDER & FASTER (EXT. VERSION) - 04:31
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-07.asx
Aside from the synth lick at the end, this doesn't sound like anything I haven't heard from Powerful T. before. Lots of operatic singing, but not in a coherently catchy structure. Sounds pretty overproduced, too.
:|

8. MOMO / FLASH AND LOVE (SEB VERSION) - 03:56
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-08.asx
Another rather forgettable song that doesn't have the most interesting or effective melodic structure. Another one that I'll probably stop looping within a matter of weeks.
:|

9. MICHELLE ROSE / HARD TO SAY I'M SORRY (EXTENDED) - 06:09
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-09.asx
I actually like this italo-style track quite a bit more than It's All Up To You. Elisabetta is a lot more suited for this style imo, and the tune, while not groundbreaking, definitely accomplishes more in my eyes.
:)

10. KATE PROJECT / IN MY ARMS (EXTENDED MIX) - 05:53
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-10.asx
It sounds like a 1997-1998 era Saifam track with its rather melancholy tune. I don't really like that style very much, but this could still turn out quite promising.
:)

11. ACE / ME AND YOU (SEB VERSION) - 04:36
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-11.asx
This sounds like it could be great, but I want to hear the rest of the track before I can fully decide. While it's not currently my favorite Ace song by a mile, it has a fairly nice tune and I like the production.
:)

12. ALEKY / LABYRINTH OF LOVE (EXTENDED) - 05:37
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-12.asx
Wow, like Sarah's Little Lies, this has a very heavy eurodance feel. Eternity has grown to become one of my favorites from the 190's since I bought it from Musico, so I was hoping for something in the same vain as that track. This isn't really similar to that song and has a far cheerier, less power-ballady approach, but I like what I hear so far, so maybe it'll turn out nearly as well.
:D

13. TRF / BOY MEETS GIRL <GOGO MIX> - 05:05
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-13.asx
The production is a million miles better than the Delta version, but I think the song itself is a little meh, so I'd say this is good-but-not-great at best.
:|

14. DAVE RODGERS / MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE (ROCK MIX) - 04:30
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-14.asx
I think the hard rock approach doesn't work well with this song at all. The original from 1995 was very much more of a eurobeat track and I think that's what made it truly shine back in the day. This sounds like it's trying to invade the magical feel of the original into a cloak of darkness. I like the song itself, but so far I'm very disappointed by this remix.

Initial impressions - always subject to change of course, but accurate for the most part based on the past few albums...

1. HAWAIIAN ROLLER COASTER RIDE
- Cheese-tastic. This is clearly from the same stable as Kiki & Fancy etc., and for the most part it works. I do think that it will get old very quickly, but for the novelty factor it's a cute start to the album.
:)

2. FREEDOM RIDE
- I love the melody of this one. It has a good hook to it with the repitition. The little that we could hear of the synth hook suggests that this one will have a bit more synth to accompany the trademark guitars, which makes me very happy!

3. IT'S LIKE A FIRE
- Hmmm, not what I was expecting. Sounds more like a female track from the backing, right up until the "FIIIIIIIRRRREEEE" at the very end. I'm hoping for an epic synth hook right after that word!! Unsure about this one yet...
:| / :)

4. SCREAMING OUT THE POWER
- On some levels, this has a lot of the same old aspects of the old-school HRG female tracks, but there is a big more emphasis behind the beat that seems to give it more substance. A tentative approval - not sure about the synth hook...
:)

5. ON THE TOP AGAIN
- I like the fact that there are less warped vocal effects. I really like the melodic progression of this one. It has that typical Boom Boom Dollars chord progression, so it should please drnrg!
:) /

6. I'LL REMEMBER WHY I LOVE YOU
- There's just not enough backing up the vocals in this track - a complaint I have about most SS tracks. LOL at the "Waiting For A Star To Fall" homage just before the chorus. Unsure, it might improve in extended guise...
:|

7. LOUDER & FASTER
- Typical key change into the chorus that only Powerful T. can do! This one has a lot going on in the background during the second part of the chorus. Old-school synths again, but OH MY GOD - that synth hook sounds immense!!
:) /

8. FLASH & LOVE
- I really don't like this song very much at all. The melody just doesn't light my fire - it's a bit weedy, and sounds like a bad Kylie B-side from the 80's. This is the rubbish that Christine used to get...
:(

9. HARD TO SAY I'M SORRY
- LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! The piano riff in the background, the galloping bassline, the rich tone of the unwarped vocals. I adore this - better than It's All Up To You, but still using all the best parts from that production and improving on the overall package!
:!:

10. IN MY ARMS
- This is the kind of diva singing that Mari-San should take some queues from. This has a really strong Eurodance heritage (of course, it's a remake of a Saifam Eurodance track). The melody reminds me of a track called Memories Of You by Orlando (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9L6MCpf-eI).

11. ME & YOU
- EET'S KERRAZEE! Lol, Ace's pronounciation could use some work at certain parts of this. I really don't know what to make of the song overall. It's clearly taking a lot of influence from the pop world, just like I Won't Fall Apart did. I like it, but perhaps expected a bit more?
:) /

12. LABYRINTH OF LOVE
- OH MY GOD!!! Bubblegum Euro comes to SEB!! This track is just soooooooo cute. Aleky sounds so much like all the classic Scandinavian Bubblegum singers (I instantly thought of a younger version of the Solid Base vocalist when I heard the first few notes of the chorus - check this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvMmlLlF7mA). I love the twinkling arpeggios in the background, and the funky electro bassline adds a unique touch. Best sample of the bunch!
:!:

13. BOY MEETS GIRL <GO-GO'S REMIX>
- Not the biggest advocate for these J-Euro remixes on the series, and this won't change my mind. It's okay, but nothing more.
:|

14. MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE (Rock Mix)
- Some more self-indulgence from Grandpa Dave. He's starting to sound quite tired in these Rock mixes. This doesn't blow me away, but it's listenable I guess...
:|

By far the top 3 from the samples are:
1. LABYRINTH OF LOVE <3 <3 <3
2. HARD TO SAY I'M SORRY
3. FREEDOM RIDE / IN MY ARMS (dead-heat)

Worst tracks:
1. FLASH & LOVE (please bring back Pamsy to save us SCP!!!)
2. BOY MEETS GIRL
3. I'LL REMEMBER WHY I LOVE YOU

Overall, this sounds like a good album. Not a groundbreaking album, but very solid. I adore Aleky's track - Dima can do no wrong for me at the moment. I'm also soooo glad to hear that the major HRG slowdown wasn't a one-hit wonder, as Michelle Rose takes probably the biggest surprise spot in my current top 3 (well, 4 but yeah :P)

Can't until a week tomorrow for the iTunes release

1. AAA / HAWAIIAN ROLLER COASTER RIDE (EUROBEAT REMIX) - 03:12
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-01.asx

5. GARCON / ON THE TOP AGAIN (EXTENDED) - 05:52

No, I don't like it. (could get through the preview though) :(

9. MICHELLE ROSE / HARD TO SAY I'M SORRY (EXTENDED) - 06:09
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-09.asx
Slow BPM overkill much? Sounds good anyway and surprisingly NOT a cover. :)

10. KATE PROJECT / IN MY ARMS (EXTENDED MIX) - 05:53
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-10.asx
Sounds pretty good. :)

http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-12.asx
Another Dima hit! You can't stop them! :!:

http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-13.asx<
The preview didn't help anything here... and the mood of the song doesn't help a eurobeat song at all. Holding neutral for now. :|

14. DAVE RODGERS / MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE (ROCK MIX) - 04:30
http://cnt01.labelgate.com/morawin/top/ ... 206-14.asx
That sounds too much WTF when you click the preview. :(

'In My Arms' and 'Labyrinth of Love' are my favourites. I already own 'In My Arms' in extended and it sounds like something that would be perfect for Eurovision, IMO. 'Labyrinth of Love' is all-around perfectly produced, as we've come to expect from Dima.

The least impressive samples for me are 'It's Like a Fire' and 'On the Top Again.' The Kaioh song is definitely the biggest let-down on the entire album based on the samples. I was expecting this song to have much more OOMPH, both in the production and vocals, but GGM's productions these days lack so much life and energy (sort of similar to A-Beat C during the 170s). What a disappointment! 'On the Top Again' sounds like the generic HRG I hate very much.

No new material from Delta is a massive bummer.

Couldn't agree more. I really thought that Freddy was going to take a similar route to that of Leo River, but this track just sounds a little bit weedy from the chorus. I'm hoping the full version has more to offer!

It is from a J-pop act, but can this really be classed as J-Euro is it is entirely sung in English (with the possibility of some Hawaiian phrases)? Just wondering... :P

Yeah, I don't get it either. HRG are particularly culpable since they tend to drag their songs out to six minutes needlessly, although they're not the only ones at fault obviously. What's funny is that I used to complain about HRG's so-called four-and-a-half-minute "extendeds" for so long, and now we have these painstakingly tedious six-minute productions that repeat a certain section of the song four-times over. I don't know about drnrg or anybody else, but I wouldn't call a song that's simply repeating the same minute-and-a-half over and over a "true extended."
I really think you have to be nuts over vinyl to really appreciate the 5:30 - 6+ mins extended. the middle break is crucial for old school mixing of the transitional song to song method. It's not repeating the same section over when you modify certain instruments to make it sound different. They also shuffle around the parts throughout the song like omit a bridge here and there or vocals during the chorus ,so as to just hear the melody. HRG and Eurogrooves/TIME especially excell in this meathod.

Listen to DELTA Queens- Dance Around The World or anything from TIME during the mid 80s through late 90's, Especially when Rimonti/Accantino/Gabrielli were aboard. You could mix the songs wondefully during the traditional middle break, as well as towards the end. If HRG were to release vinyl right now. Mixing thier songs would be amazing. If you prefer to master the p.c way of mixing(A method I have learned to enjoy as well) try remxing with those instrumentals that Itunes offered. Anyway, It might just be a Dee jay thing, but those 3:45 to 4:30 edits do nothing for me, but leave me bland.

Anyway, I'll give my intial thoughts on these new SEB 206 previews. You guys hear Eurodance Na Bubble Gum Euro; I hear traditional 80s Hi Energy Italo sound. Either way AVEX is tending to both New and Old school fans with these new slower bpms and for me; it's making the melodies much more easier to absorb.

Once again, from bad to worst:
8) = Perfect Eurobeat zone
:D = Will bring me hours of enjoyment
 = wow, really surprised!
:| = Need to hear full version
 = Oh No, This just won't do.

1. AAA- Hawiian Rollor Coaster Ride (SCP)
Intersting sounding riff, but the vocals totally ruin it for me.

2. The Snake- Freedom (SCP)
Great chorus. I hear a bit more Go2 and Hotblade ,than an actual Snake sound, but it's still sounds great.
:D

3. Kaioh- It's Like A Fire (GGMs)
Really makes up for that Ester song. tends to sound like a GGMs female track around the edges, but I'm really liking the chorus and his vocals are 100% macho style I like.

4. Louise- Screaming Out The Power (HRG Attack)
This one gets a double smiling. A wow effect, as well as the perfect Eurobeat zone. meaning it sounds like somthing they could have written back at TIME studios with the ever preasent Aggressive sounding riff. Would love to hear Clara sing this back in thier TIME glory days.
 / 8)

5. Garcon- On The Top Again (HRG Attack)
It's such a joy to hear a preview that immediatly spells out Bomba. This one also sounds like a song They could easily have produced in the Boom Boom days of TIME. That riff is AMAZING and Festari sounds spot on. Could be my top track when heard in full.
8)

6. Nathalie- I'll Remeber Why I Loved You (Sinclaire Style)
Aptly titled Bratt Synclaire offering. I'm getting some nice vibe from back in early DELTA days. Sounds like Bratt has done it 3 X in a row. My only beaf would be, that it sounds like the vocals are a tad too low, but the rest; Trebel, bass and riff sound right on target.

7. Power & Style (AbeatC)
Now this what I was waiting from Powerful T.. Somehow something from his last songs was missing and I think it was traditional vocal style. The chorus sounds really energetic. Could be the next "Glorious"
 / :D

8. Momo- Flash & Love (SCP)
Something about thier latest productions sounds a bit old school. The melody in the chorus has a definate 80s feel to it. and that riff will be beautiful, but the song legnth looks pittyfull.

9. Michelle Rose- Hard To Say I'm Sorry (HRG Attack)
Good sound! Sounds like they just lowered the BPMs a bit, but I love the 90s Hi Energy galloping sound. You guys hear Eurodance. I hear Italo Hi Energy.
:D

10. Kate Project- In My Arms (Saifam)
80s Italo. Much like Sophie or Jenny Kee. That's the high point, but I don't like her vocals at all. Too deep & That sounds like Eurodance. hopeing the intro and melodies throughout the sections of the song are better.
:|

11. Ace- Me and You (SCP)
Damn! I'm loving that upbeat chorus and somehow it sounds really old school as well. Not exactly Aishu, but full of repressed passion. A really great sounding Clip from SCP.
 / 8)

12. Aleky- Labyrinth Of Love (Dima music)
Wow! if only vinyl came back, I could mix this with some TIME and Saifam classics from yesteryear. Wonderful Italo melody in the chorus. Hits the mark again.
 / :D

13. TRF Boy Meets Girl <GoGo>
The only thing I'll be GoGo going back to is track 12 when this song comes around. Total waste of cd space. I'd rather have Aleky's track repeated twice. tripple tap for this mess.

14. Dave Rodgers- Music For The People (Rock Mix)
Oh no, I don't think this song fits a rock groove. The synth sound is fine, but for a eurobeat sound. Revive Aleph sound or something, cuz this is getting tireing.

I don't hear Eurodance in this track - I'm with you on the italo/Hi-NRG front with this track.

But the Aleky and Kate Project tracks are just pure eurodance. Have you ever listened to any bubblegum artists like Toybox, Solid Base, Soda etc.? If you like the Aleky sample, you must enjoy at least some of their tracks, which means you can't be as dead-set against Eurodance as you used to be...

Here's hoping, but I'm not expecting much. I remember complaining about GGM's male songs during the 190s and the fact that they didn't really sound all that powerful (with the exception of 'Runaway'). I mentioned this before, but I don't think Oliva and Gatti know how to create an effective and powerful masculine song, so we have songs like Kaioh's that are trying to be masculine through its title and vocals but the scrawny production brings all of that down. With a title like 'It's Like a Fire', the last thing you'd expect to hear is a rather soft and feminine song, so hearing the sample was quite a shock.

This reminds me of when I heard 'Screaming' by Annalise/Lolita for the first time. I wasn't the only one who was expecting to hear something that would blow us all away. I was anticipating screams, screeches and squeals, and what did we get? A weak and insipid song with none of that. So disappointing.

Since Euro-dance stems from Italo Hi Energy, then youy are absulutely right. The high trebel synths and upbeat sound is nowhere like the dark 80s Italo style, but the bass line is what gives the track the old school sound.
I might checkout some of those tracks if they do infact sound like this Aleky clip. Just as long as there is no annoying rap lines(that's what I hated about 90s Eurodance), I'll probobly like them.

As for Kate Project; again the bassline is old style. Remeber the song "Cause The Night" off BBB label. it's the vocals that turn me off. Is she English BTW?

I don't think I'll be dissing the Kaioh tack as much as some of you. It isn't as aggressive as, say; R U Ready, but still has a lot of promise. Freddy's vocals have matured alot since his Yellow Fin days and that's what I like.

Jay

I noticed that too, but please point out to me the new Eurogrooves trax, cuz only 3 HRG Attacks entries could make up for Dall Ora's absence. and while I'm on the subject; it's easy to say that right now AVEX opts for more aishu style female tracks with a 90s feel, so my question is ,where is Elena Ferretti? Dall Ora can absolutely kick ass in the 90s style Aishu Eurobeat.

This doesn't really break any boundaries for the GGM label. I want something a lot darker and melodicallly broader. A very average song that I'll probably forget about eventually, in contrast to the recent masterpieces by Leo River and Manuel.
:|
It's kind of out of place. I can definitely hear Lolita singing this song though.

Anyway, my thoughts from the previews. I hope hearing the actual songs on release will change my mind. Using the emoticon rating system.

1. AAA - Hawiian Rollor Coaster Ride (SCP)
I can't understand a word.
:?

2. The Snake - Freedom (SCP)
Sounds like a song Fastway would sing (and sing better)
:(

3. Kaioh - It's Like A Fire (GGM)
Like I just said, it seems like Lolita should be singing it.
:|

4. Louise - Screaming Out The Power (HRG Attack)

Gah, Seems like Nanae's personal recommendation wasn't for naught, Sample for LOL sounded incredible, I only hope it stays that way for the full song. Overall, Through samples, Looks like another bullseye for the 200s.
You and me like a fire tonight
Me and you 2 guardian angels
Now I feel your touch into my heart
A ray of sun~

Keeping in mind I haven't heard it before on Juno or anything like that, is it just me, or does In Your Arms *REALLY* sound a lot like an older song, but I can't put my finger on what song exactly. Almost like Stay by Victoria, or something else from that era, but just listening to the sample for In Your Arms, I wanted to start singing a different song, but can't place it.
