It's like the old K-Tel Disco Compilations of the 70' & 80's.

I posted some examples. Guess noone took the TIME to view them :???:

The others are still to make a massive impression on me at the moment, but that may change. I might do a review at a later date if anyone is interested in reading more about my thoughts
yeah sure keep em comming. the more the better.

ditz
Beat Around in particular just has the most killer intro and background synth hooks (the word "orgasmic" comes to mind with all those raunchy moans and screams at the start!)
Just what I love about it. The intro reminds me of the sort of intros Dr. of Dreams and Casino have. Both are from Toby Ash from TIME label.Without the moans of course, but you know what I mean.

Loudness War. Heard of it?
It's getting ridiculoud these days on certain tracks. The loudest SinclaireStyle track is "Passport To Dance". I have professional monitor headphones worth 160$ a pair (I think it's like 200$ MSRP too) and even with those, you can hear distortion in those explosion in the intro. I even emailed them about it and here is the answer...

1st reply:
We are aware of the "War of loudness" side-effects and we always try not to cut our tracks in dynamic too much.
Anyway, regarding "Passport to dance" the distorted effect should be only on big explosion in the intro-part. No other distortion should be listened in the track.
Obviously, it's not the case.
Then, I answered...

2nd reply:
Unfortunately the "War of loudness" is not easy to stop because many customers from all over the world are now addicted in having very loud levels in their IPods headphones. Therefore all our tracks must come out from our studios at very loud level. Sometimes it can happen that leveling the compilation CD mastering some track it's rised up too much.
Huh?! NO! The people who are asking for it are the labels who think that the louder the music, the more people will buy the music. This is BS! There are even studies on that and it does not encourage it! (Lengthy read here: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/sep11/a ... udness.htm) All it does is that it DESTROYS the music. That's why vinyl is becoming popular again: to press a good vinyl, you need to meet certain conditions:
1. It is not a fully automated process like CDs, you actually NEED some skills.
2. If you record it like on CDs with loudness war, it's gonna sound like SHIT. You actually need to have your dynamic range right.

Anyway. You should go, search and listen videos about it on Youtube.

I just hate that it sounds so muffled that you can't even hear the vocals clearly.

Anyways, here my review

1.Never Say Never
Energetic, forceful, excellent vocal work. It makes me think of a Street Fighter stage track.

2.Adrenaline
I love the riff melody; it packs a nice punch. The track gives off a masculine vibe.

3.Maybe One Day
It may be an older track, but it's a stomper. Classic disco sound with a powerful vocal performance. You can't help but shout along, "Crush me Baby!"

4.Magic Sunday
I love the 80s keyboards at the beginning. The riff is amazing. Dave knows how to pull off a great disco sound. The vocal work could have been more energetic, but I'm always happy to hear Dave & Futura together.

5.Baby Tonight
Love the riff...everything else is meh. Nothing else to say about this track as no other effort was put in anywhere else in this track. On a positive note, it was nice to hear a decent intro for mixing.

6.I Just Wanna Stay With You
Dreamfighters...you definitely lost the fight on this track. The riff is decent, but everything else is just meh. Lazy vocal work, lazy melodies (except the riff)...Maybe next time. I did enjoy "A New Day" though.

7.Fairy Tale
Love it! Love it! Love it! Maybe I haven't listened to Clara Maroni's work long enough to make a judgement on this track being "dodgy vocal work", but I love the way she stretches her "Meeeee". It reminds me of "Set Me Free". The riff in this track oozes a eurodance sound. The beat is nice and stompy.

8.Kool Kitten
I will say that it was nice to hear Franz Tornado's voice again, but the song as a whole just didn't do it for me. Not that is was bad...but it just wasn't a "Cabellero With Sombrero".

9.You Got Me Boom! Boom!
This track just blows me away. It's amazing work. The riff is a huge punch in the face of energy! The vocals are amazing (of what you can hear). The drum beat in this track is also stompy! Bratt Sinclaire should really look into producing UK Hardcore music.

10.Don't Forget
Another great track! The vocal work is ace. The vocals work great with the synths. The melody is very uplifting and dreamy.

11.Moonlight Hero
I love the vocal work, but I feel there's not much else to this track besides the vocals. It would have been nice if the riff packed more of a punch.

12.Give Me Your Heaven
I like how Hi-NRG Attack has based it's past female production around the same vocalist as I really love the vocal work she does, but I enjoyed the tracks on 223 better than this track. The melody in the riff makes me think of something I'd hear in a chinese restaurant.

13.Fantasy Car
As with Franz Tornado, Powerful T.'s voice is nice to have in 2013, but this track just leaves me asking, "Where is the Powerful T. from the past?" Where's the energy? Where's that rough edge that Powerful T.'s tracks always carried? As with Dreamfighters...maybe next time.

14.Beat Around
Once again, Sinclaire gives us another stomper of a tune! I love everything about this track. I just wish the vocals were more clear. As stated before, he should really take a chance at making 170+ bpm tunes.

15.Hot Hot Racin' Car
I'm happy to still hear these voices in today's eurobeat. The track is amazing, and proves to be a perfect example of eurobeat music. The vocal work is ace, and the drum beat fits the tune perfectly. I wish more eurobeat tracks featured this hard beat that SCP & SS have been using in their tracks.

Overall, I enjoyed the album. It was nice to hear some old voices reappear. It's amazing how much eurobeat has evolved. Bring on 226!

I'd have to agree that SinclaireStyle is one of the worst offenders in the loudness war, although all labels are guilty of it.

I remember how 'Passport to Dance' literally hurt my ears the first time I heard it with all the distortion and fuzz going (I have decent headphones too). I haven't listened to it in full since that first play through. It's quite an okay song in every other respect but the loudness makes it unlistenable. A real shame.

The SinclaireStyle songs on this album aren't much better, sadly. I was really looking forward to them after hearing the samples but, again, it's hard to listen to them for a prolonged period of time. They really need to tone it down.

I wanted to add something. As of moment I have good quality MP3s. No cd yet. I have never had problem with distortion of the music when I listen to it. I do listen to my music with volume turned up loud, but I have never heard the distortion you guys talk about. I also seldom listen to it with earphones, but when I do it's still not as distorted as you guys make them sound to be.

What I couldn't listen to at all were the samples that one memeber posted a few weeks ago. Now that was what I concidered distorted. It felt like my speakers wee gonna give out.

My question is this. I hear you guys complain about the quality of distortion of the cds, which I don't get, but not one member mentioned the distortion of those itunes samples posted.

Is it that it didn't rerally mattered or were you guys able to listen to those samples fine with out distortion.

It sounds like we get totally different outputs here.

rememeber I also have a subwoofer on my p.c. speakers with ultra dynamic sound output. I don't know if that makes it easier on the ears or what, but I am curious as to what distortion you guys get?

I will be honest with you guys and tell you that the first thing I did was trash the stock speakers that came with my almost 10 year old P.C., but not because of Eurobeat, but because of Rock music. That's the one that was sounded distorted.

I think you guys need better speakers? I tried about 4 types of P.C. speakers before I found the ones I have now were all types of music sound great without even changeing the levels around.

I didn't hear the distortions in the youtube trailer. I only hear the muffledness on the actual cd.

I think he means the iTunes sample MP3 I made. Yep, that was my fault, the bass was way too overpowered and due to that, the MP3 sounded like crap. But hey, they were only previews, so that doesn't really matter.

The song "Passport To Dance", for example, is a really distorted song, even if it's a good song in general. I hear the distortion with my sound system, headphones (older and newer ones) and also in the car. And I do have the original CD. So I can't explain why you don't hear the distortion.

I have SEB 216, and Passport to Dance doesn't sound bad.

Maybe the megamix version on 216 isn't distorted, however, the extended one on 214 definitely is.

It's also brickwalled but you can easily hear the explosion that are present in the megamix version to be distorted still.

The extended is worse than the meagmix version.

I agree with Jay. The song is very good however, the loudness just make it unbearable.

@drnrg I also have a decent 2.1 sound system on my computer and it still distort quite heavily.

The few explosions in the intro and break sound a tad heavy, the the song is nowhere near unbearable.

What I did do as a test was connect some p.c. stock speakers just to see what I would hear and the output was really distorted compared to what I use now. I took them off right away. they were pure shit. It reminded me the whole reason I took them off in the first place.

Guys get some updated speakers to listen to Eurobeat the way it was meant to be. That's pretty much all I can advise.8)

I bought a regular pair of Logitech Z4 many years ago and I'm amazed by how good they sound still. As for Passport to Dance, I can't say the brickwalling is that noticable on lower volume outside of the explosions, but if I crank the volume up I definitely hear something. I haven't tested this on my speakers but I figure the results will be the same.
