01. BAD GIRL / DOMINO
It's okay, but brought down by a wavering structure.

02. DREAM AWAY / IRENE
I hope this exhibits Linda Ongarelli's Elena Gobbi-like vocal abilities like her earlier tracks did. Lovely is not as bad as everybody says it is, but it's still easily her weakest song to date.

03. DANCE INTO THE FIRE / J.STORM
It would be interesting to finally get another Fabio Lione track after nearly a decade's absence, but I'm betting my money that this is just an unreleased, 10+ year-old song like Maybe One Day. We've been getting quite a lot of old A-Beat C numbers on SEB as of late, so I wouldn't be surprised if the trend continued here.

04. HURRY HURRY HURRY / MELA
Sorry, but I'm not much of a fan of this. In contrast to Saifam's golden age of 1999 to 2006, this is airily-produced and just not that melodically fresh.

05. ANGEL / NATHALIE & ROBERTA
I hope Nathalie is truly here to stay because she provides some much-needed variety to SinclaireStyle's female roster. A duet with Roberta could be interesting, but I do hope it's more like Prayer than the honestly overrated Beat Around.

06. FIGHT / RICH HARD
Rich Hard has mostly performed slower, more poignant music since Tell Me Why, but with a title like this, could this be a return to the more aggressive style that suited his growly vocals so well in his debut on SEB 196?

07. THE JUNGLE IS ON FIRE / J-STARK
So, I guess this a new name at Delta? If so, I hope for something fresh and original, as with the Corrado and Marika songs from recent years.

08. LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME / ULTRAVIOLET
Contrary to my repeated concerns about Dima's declining quality, they have still produced quite a few excellent tracks this decade, most notably the first two Stephy Martin ones, as well as Dance Eurobeat. Thus, I have mild hope for this.

09. CACTUS GIRL / JEFF DRILLER
If this is another rehash of Hi-NRG Attack's tired Bb-minor progression, I'll probably barely listen to it.

10. LADY SPEED RACER / MARA NELL
Mara Nell has traditionally been associated exclusively with Melody Castellari instead of Elisabetta Gagliardi, who seems to have taken over 100% of HRG's female products as of late, so I'm hoping maybe for a comeback just to give the label some much-needed variety.

11. TAKE A CHANCE ON ME / NORMA SHEFFILED feat. FUTURA
Simply having Norma Sheffield attached to something is enough to make me unexcited for it. Her last song wasn't that horrible actually, but still I have very low expectations here.

12. MAYDAY / LUKE
Luca Torchiani is probably one of the most reliably strong male artists around today, so I hope this doesn't break his winning streak.

13. ANGEL RIGHT TO ME / BLISS
The previous Bliss song was a pleasant surprise for me personally, so I'm putting a lot of stock here, too.

14. BAD LOVE / DAVID DIMA
Dima's solo performances have consistently fallen flat for a while now, so I'd be blown away if this is anything like King of the World or Tsundere Night.

15. XMAS LOVE / SINCLAIRESTYLE ALL STARS
I take it Eurobeat X'mas isn't profitable anymore? Either way, I'm definitely interested to see what comes out of a modern Holiday song produced by Leonardi and company.

OWEEE! It's TIME to review words as Ditz so eloquently put it. :P

01. BAD GIRL / DOMINO
The preview sounded alright, but I feel it might get lost among so many other great names.

02. DREAM AWAY / IRENE
I probly liked "Lovely" more than most people and think its one of her best. This title sounds kinda "Airy/Transy", so I have my guard up.

03. DANCE INTO THE FIRE / J.STORM
The guy likes dancing and fire. This usually spells out big Eurobeat hit. I expect a killer synth riff with mean streak guitars with maybe a a "desire" or two thrown in for good measure.

04. HURRY HURRY HURRY / MELA
I heard the whole song on Juno. It's pretty cool, but not as classic as "Sandy"

05. ANGEL / NATHALIE & ROBERTA
One of my most anticipated, because it's Sinclaire; which quickly has become one of my favourite labels. If it's anything as epic as "Beat Around" then I'm sold. I expect a super fast synth as opposed to what the title might suggest to be aishu- like

06. FIGHT / RICH HARD
This guy is quickly becomming a houshold name. No misses for him this year. Can he make it three in a row?

07. THE JUNGLE IS ON FIRE / J-STARK
DELTA huh? I'll laugh if Starkly Ice has joined up with them. We havn't heard anything from him at HRG for years. New alias ae usually certified hits. I can't wait to hear this song. I expect this one to have a very original sounding synth riff.

08. LOVE IS ALL AROUND ME / ULTRAVIOLET
I hope this is better then thier debut. I think I've only listened to that song about 5 x since I got it. :???:

09. CACTUS GIRL / JEFF DRILLER
"If this is another rehash of Hi-NRG Attack's" classic "Bb-minor progression", I'll probobly love it!!! HAHAH! One man's trash is another man's treasure. Wacky title. Can't wait to hear those lyrics.

10. LADY SPEED RACER / MARA NELL
Two HRG Attack songs in a row. What more can I ask for? This one sounds like it's gonna be fast and agressive. Plus the return of Mara Nell.

11. TAKE A CHANCE ON ME / NORMA SHEFFILED feat. FUTURA
For some reason ,I'm not too excited here. Futura usually only sounds good with Dave, but then again Norma Sheffield is so classy.
I hope they sound great in synch.

12. MAYDAY / LUKE
This song title sounds great! maybe we get some siren effects thrown in. I miss those. I expect a "Turbo Disco" sounding intro with Clara Moroni back up vocals.

13. ANGEL RIGHT TO ME / BLISS
her retro style sounds right at home, so I'm hoping this one is even better then her debut song.

14. BAD LOVE / DAVID DIMA
I hate to admit it, but I'm kinda burning out on Dave's style. At first I love all his new music, but they quickly fizzle from my playlists. Hope he really surprises us with this one. Such a classic song title too.

15. XMAS LOVE / SINCLAIRESTYLE ALL STARS
Now this is gonna be something else. If this song is anything like the title suggests then we will get cameos from all of them. Bonini, Dejo, Les, Megan, Nathalie and Roberta. Damn! I just realized Sinclaire needs more male stars in his stable.

Yeah but David Bird is David Dima. It makes me wonder if it's the same song released under a more recognizable name (Soul Gasoline was released under "The Big Brother" and "Dave Rodgers" later), a remake, or a new song and funny coincidence.
David Bird is Nick Mansell not Dima.

The name was used by both vocalists. Nicola Mansueto claimed the pseudonym during the 90's on tracks like Sexy Diva and Come On Everybody, but Dima himself sang under the title on Bad Love a few years later.

I'm really looking forward to the Irene and the Bliss tracks. Also the Bad Girl seems to be amazing!

Just reading the titles, I'd say I have "curiosity" over Bad Love, Cactus Girl and Xmas Love.

Damn, I can't wait ;_; I need SEB now~

I'm still surprised that you're so disillusioned by this track. I honestly feel that this is the closest we've come to the old rich "glory days" sound that Saifam used to have in the mid-2000's. Sure, there are less guitars, and overall I feel that Melody doesn't fully put forward her most powerful or dynamic vocal performance, but it's still melodically and production-wise light years ahead of everything that SEB has seen from Asia in the past few years. Our tastes have really evolved to be quite different on the whole, huh? ;)

Not to be pedantic but you do realize Megan and Roberta are the same person lol.

The problem with Hurry Hurry Hurry, and what starkly distinguishes it from Saifam's early 2000's music, is that it simply has no punch. It's common for the label's female tracks to implement a sort of tongue-and-cheek musical structure, but what truly brought this to life from 1999 to 2006 was the consistent enthusiasm and edge found in the tune itself, but also the vocal performance and production qualities.

A perfect point of comparison for this case is Yellow Butterfly, which, like Hurry Hurry Hurry, is performed by Melody Castellari, but having been produced in 2002, was crafted under a much more effective direction. The melody of Yellow Butterfly is joyfully upbeat, easy to remember, yet also like nothing else that the eurobeat genre had ever seen at the time. Here, Castellari's vocals are clear, crisp, and just as motivated as the rest of the track suggests. I also love the firm, concentrated kick beat, as well as the mildly noisy, yet pleasant synth instrumentation. Although Saifam's production style dramatically evolved during the early 2000's period, they always retained that sharp, crisp sound that brought out the best in their wildly original melodic ideas.

Hurry Hurry Hurry, on the other hand, sounds like it wants to be dance-ably cutesy like Yellow Butterfly, but its general elements are far too obtuse to pull that off successfully. Here, Castellari seems mostly unenthused, like she's communicating with a little kid in private. The production is also quite lackluster. It seems like after being temporarily removed from SEB in the 170's, Asia Records began dropping focus on the classic kick drum, and instead began bloating their productions with a bunch of other percussion layers, giving them a rather thick, suffocated, and fluffy sound in comparison to their older works. That issue is heavily prominent here, but so is the tune itself. Partly because of the aforementioned complaints, the tired chorus sounds like a bad theme song from a Nick Jr. cartoon rather than a bubblegum eurodance song on a caffeine rush. It puts a lot of focus on the "cute," but not enough on the edge or memorability, so especially with such lackluster production values, the melody just sounds annoying instead of exciting.

They've got two of the Delta stars, Dejo and Bonini. Sinclaire should just bring in Budriesi as well

Thanks for the response. I'm ill right now so can't be anywhere near as eloquent, but I guess we just don't get excited over the same sounds any more. :?

In that case, I take it that you'll end up hating just about everything else released on the album too.

Nothing about eurobeat sounds fresh anymore.

Les & Megan-Beat Around sounded pretty fresh to me! We need more hysterical synth eurobeat like this!....like the older sounds of Eurobeat.

eXtaticus wrote:^ Sinclaire's riffs sound like the erratic twitching of an epileptic wasp in a tin can.

Every riff descends into a chaotic labyrinth of way too many notes, and it just becomes noise after a while.

Everywhere a note can go, he puts one, regardless of whether or not it makes the melody incoherent, or totally impossible to sing along to. So, in the end, I don't bother.
And that's what makes his tracks so great! They're hyper, energetic, chaotic, loud, and his tempos are always near 160 (it seems). It makes me think of the old Happy Hardcore days when Happy Hardcore music had the bridge in the middle of the track...as heard here!
