Where have the Time Records sounds gone?

Post by coolneko » 05 Jan 2015, 16:43

Eurobeat labels need to bring back the Time Records feel. Too much trancy stuff along with....how do I say this generic feels of new eurobeat. Sure we fans love the feel of the new sounds....but I was listening to 150-160s....50-90s of SEB and man....augh....yeah love of eurobeat came back!! Wow! I forgot about the sounds...eurobeat labels...listen....we want that time records feel again. No remixes, no updated version, bring a dish of retro to the Era of new...hrg attack needs some flavor too!!

I agree with you on the late 90's sound being absolutely stellar but really, whether it be for the better or worse, all I can say is this : Welcome to 2015!

Btw, where is this 'trancy sound' you speak of? I sure don't hear too many of em.

Well specifically, trancey not so much...but....augh....how do I put...just that sound you don't hear that eurobeat often had. It gave off a energy vibe that really made you drive like a lunatic, but at the same time you had control. More so I would say...the Time Records sounds, the experimenting they had. I miss Helena, Big Town Guy, Chris Staffor, and others. They gave a vibe of either sorrow and I mean sorrow! A crazy mixture of class and craziness, and though through the 170s....160s...etc onward were nothing but updated versions and then Eurogrooves, Time had this trademark of unique energy that I can't think of that other eurobeat labels can't pull off. I'll only say that Sands of Time by T.Stebbins was the closest. I feel it in that song...gives ait classic vibe I really miss.

It's not super trancey by classic trance standards, but the synths and drums used in newer eurobeat are more typical of trance and, well, basically every other dance genre ever. The overall sound is more generic.
I also feel that a lot of newer eurobeat is either very generic musically, or too all-over-the-place and lacks focus.

does coolneko want italo-disco sound influence back?

i have no problem with trancey....
if the track sound good, then it's a good track!
the genre need evolution,or else it will become generic.even if too much 80s,90s.... with no updated! so what will happened the genre?!

i think the SEB will change the sound style in next few years to follow the rhymth of EDM! Don't worry, newer version is coming! :)

if you want the old sound back, become a producer, and do something to the scene!
or try to persuade italian producers to change their mind! lol!

end story! and open your heart to music!

I'd like to hear some new raw Eurobeat. The way I interpret the whole "trance" thing that everyone's talking about is that the songs just sound more... spacey. I think a good example is David Dima - With A Little Bit Of True Love

It feels like the overall sound of Eurobeat is becoming one big Pamsy track. The vocals seem kinda muddled in with the music and the actual sounds and synths don't seem to be as prominent as they once were.

I personally feel that Eurobeat should be very hard-hitting. I'm not saying that every song needs to be fast, or aggressive, or upbeat. But I like when I can focus on the music on one hand, then re-listen to a song and enjoy the vocals just as much on their own.

And I hate to say it, but it seems like there's not much melody anymore. Alot of the riffs, sounds and vocals I've been hearing just sound really rushed and contrived.

Anyway, that's all subjective, so take it as you will. I will say that I think things have been getting somewhat better. My favorite tracks from 220 to now have been Tipsy & Tipsy - Baby Tonight / Norma Sheffield feat. Futura - Take A Chance On Me / Ace & Pamsy - Inside My Soul.

Sorry if this came off as rambling or not well thought out. Its 4am for me right now and I'm about to head to bed.

Really....ummmm....honestly I tried to give Italo a chance....but no dice. I mean like.....melodies, vocals that made you follow the lyrics, the sounds that made people hum the tune, you see....I like fast tracks....but then I love an aishu once in a while, time had a knack for pulling this off like Melodies of Love, Supermiao, Mr. PRENTENDER, Robert Patten, Morena, Marcus, even the Stylophones. Oh....my heart...oh and the producing thing....I can't, I'm a full time English Langauge teacher. I don't have time. Wish I could though.

I say leave that EDM sound to mainstream Pop artists.

That being said. I understand exactly what coolneko is saying. After listening to the tracks on these last few discs for countless TIMEs; I find that have of them lose their lustre before I even get a chance to review them. hence I havn't reviewd any of the latest cds for that same exact reason. My thoughts change too quickly and I think It is because of what coolenko is saying. I think AVEX has to much influence on how they want the Eurobeat producers to write the music. I mean I hear the Italo influence in the tracks and even some great heavy accented vocals, but somehow the sound is torn between old traditional Eurobeat and this new Tech Hybreed. Especially in the wat the synths are played. It's like there are some great Eurobeat melodies trying to break free, but that new style doesn't let them.

The loss of some Italo allumni producers like Newfield, Dall Ora, Castagna, and many many others is really starting to show in the new Eurobeat product.

As of right now; I'm leaning towards Newfield's new project; Flash back records for my Italo Eurobeat dose.

I'm hoping a little more traditional sound is brought back for 2015...and once again I beg ,please no David Guetta EDM sound. What's the point of calling it Eurobeat if you wanna it sound like EDM? :? :???:

nah...!
EDM is a definition of music genre,it's electronic dance music..not a specific musical style of anyone!
then eurobeat is electronic dance music...
don't blame for EDM :P

i like italo style too!
i would like to see something new from italian producers too!
