Let's see how well a guy whose tastes deviate from the Eurobeat norm can do it... I'm doing this through stream of consciousness, so there's not really much of a solid order to this. Also note that I'm directing this as if I was introducing it to people I've known personally, and these aren't people...

Re: Top 10 Maharaja Night HI-NRG Songs

I really love this compilation series...some of the most awesome songs I love are one here. I was wondering was everyone's favorite songs from this series are. 1. PLANET OF THE WARRIORS/ ANNERLEY GORDON Oh thank God. I'm NOT the only one who absolutely loves this song.... But no "Come Back&quo...

It honestly depends on the song. A large portion of extendeds tend to just draw the song out too long, when it didn't really need to be... ("Let's Go, Come On" being an example here, IMO), and with Eurobeat being a fast paced genre (in general) as it is, it just seems like having a song go...

Wow, I guess I'm one of the few who _doesn't_ like Fuku Wa Uchi (or any song sung in Japanese, for that matter). I expected to be called racist, or xenophobic, or something else, but it's not really that... moreseo that even though I like Eurobeat, it's already a bizarre enough form of music that I ...

I don't see how a 4 can be taken as 'acceptable' at all, but then, I'm also not the type who'll give something I just barely like a 7 ('game review syndrome') either. A 4 can't even be close to average and can't be "OK" because it's still performed to less than half of someone's reviewing ...

DJ Mike TJG wrote:Well a 1-10 grading system should be pretty obvious if used properly ;) As in, an average song really does get 4-6 and not an 8 like some stupid gaming magazine.
I'm not sure 40% would be considered average by any grading system, though... 60-70% seems more about average by most grading systems.

A LATECOMER HAS ENTERED THE FRAY!! 3rd. Go Go Girls - "Come Back". I tend to like songs for their synth hook over their lyrics most of the time, and this has one of my favorites. 2nd. Ace - "Tokyo Lights". I've not heard a full version yet, but this song embodies everything I've ...

140 was the first full album I'd heard. I haven't really been into it as much as most of the people here, as I've never found the really old songs that weren't on SEBs at all that turn up on a lot of people's lists, and haven't had much exposure outside of SEB, period. Still, the 140s probably hold ...

NEO/MIDNIGHT LOVE (171) DELTA 1. DANIEL/ONE MORE TRY (177) 2. EUROFUNK/RUNNING NINJA (175) 3. ODA/RAINBOW (171) SCP 1....

BEST ALBUM OF THE 170s, BY FAR. Delta ran away with this, by a mile. One More Try, Fly, and King of Heart are all EXCELLENT. Watch Out is great too. If only Mega NRG Man was singing it instead of Dave, it would be my new favorite... Dave's voice just isn't powerful enough for the song... and HOLY CH...

This is going to be controversial, but I don't see why "Takumi" has so much hype. A song based DIRECTLY ON A CHARACTER FROM ID is a bad idea, IMO. It's a horribly cheesy idea, even by Eurobeat Standards.

Again though, this is just opinion.

RIP, Tokyo Lights, SCP's forgotten song. I would hardly call that their forgotten song, at least it was released on CD. What would I say is their forgotten songs? Melissa White - One Boy Pamsy - Babyface I don't think a hacked-up version with bad J-techno samples thrown in would count as an actual ...

I wouldn't count that song out yet. I'm pretty sure theres gonna be another Initial D album. Takumi & Lucky Man haven't been released yet as full and they've gotten some attention as cdjapan even calls Takumi a hit. So we might have to wait for a bit. Those two maybe, but Tokyo Lights appeared ...
