The most re-used song name in Eurobeat history?

Post by DJ Mike TJG » 07 Nov 2007, 15:25

I've been pouring over my collection (as always), and it occurred to me that certain song names seem to get re-used quite frequently. I don't just mean certain words (e.g. "fire") or parts of titles - I mean the whole title is re-used, verbatim, as a song for another artist, and often a different label.

So I put to you: What do you think is the most frequently re-used song name in Eurobeat history?

My personal vote is "Crazy For You" (and the reason why I started this topic in the first place) - which has been used no less than SEVEN (7!!) times over the course of Eurobeat's extensive lifetime, by these artists:

Baby Gold [Hi-NRG Attack]
Chester [Time]
David R. Jones [Time]
Go Go Girls feat. Annalise & Virginelle [A-Beat C]
Pizza Girl [Delta]
Stop Limit Line [Time]
Vanessa [Time]

It seems that Time clearly *loves* that song title!

Perhaps Bore can do a database search and provide us with the true title that has been re-used the most? ;)

Seems like we're sorta grasping for new topics now...

I can't think of anything that beats "Crazy For You" right now, but for other song titles that have been re-used at certain points,

- FALL IN LOVE (Domino, Stefy Martini)
- OVER THE RAINBOW (Powerful T., Black Eva)
- RAINBOW (Mega NRG Man, Oda)
- REALITY (Dr.'s Girl, mioco)
- SHAKE ME UP (Valentina & Mirka, Jungle Bill)

For 3 different versions:

- ALWAYS ON MY MIND (Serena, Lou Grant, Kite)
- BEAUTIFUL (Joe D. Toaster, Lucya, Alexis)
- LOVE GUN (Special Touch, Derreck Simons, Mr. M)

With 4 different uses:

- HEARTBEAT (Vivien Vee, Brian Ice, Nathalie, Christine)
- RAIN (D-Note, Mako, Christine, Cherry)

And for the largest amount of different songs (5):

- BYE BYE BABY (Max Coveri, Maio & Co., Le Belle Finches, Rosy Adams, Pizza Girl)
- RUNAWAY (Alphatown, Mike Hammer, Nick Mansell, Susy Wender, Donna)

However, unless someone can prove us wrong, I suspect that Crazy For You is definitely the most overused song title in eurobeat history.

There are quite a few tracks that have been done by ~4-5 different bands. Was just checking up on various titles that felt common and some that hadn't been named yet would be:

- STAY (4x)
- HELP ME (5x)
- IT'S MY LIFE (6x)
- TELL MY WHY (5x)

And probably some other missing ones, wouldn't exactly be surprised if there'd be an another one with 7 different acts...

I dunno, I always find random factoid topics like these quite interesting, especially when it gets long-time Eurobeat fans to engage their minds and their extensive knowledge ;)

Frank Tornado? You meant to say Frank Torpedo. One of Gino Caria's most succesful aliases. Later the title was switched around for Lou Grant's "Money For Love"

The Title "Money" has been used a few TIMES too. One of the most sung about subjects 8)

Mozzart- Money(ZYX)
Sasha- Money(High Energy)
Dave Simon- Money(TIME)

In that order.

5 if you count that Asia track with a hilarious title that makes no sense whatsoever and should've just been called "Hurricane".
