Super Eurobeat 192
I think in Japan you just need permission from the publishing company and not so much the artist themself. As a point of reference... Strictly Business in DDR.

I would bloody hope so.pokecapn wrote:Come on, it's eurobeat. Exactly zero shits are given. Do you really think Dave got permission from Deep Purple to cover Smoke on the Water and Woman From Tokyo?
... and not from the band, from their label.

I'm sure Dave did get permission, and pay to whatever body represents music writers plus the original label for performance rights. Otherwise Eurobeat or not he would be in a lot of trouble. Besides which rights to reperform a song aren't very expensive - broadcast rights on the other hand (usage of an original song, e.g. in a film) are much more so.

I doubt Deep Purple would even be aware of Eurobeat's exsistence, hence that is why I personally think they skip all that asking permission stuff. I just can't picture the producers going thru all that fuzz over music that will probobly never be heard by any Rock artist. I could be wrong and then there is allways those damn venomous internet lurkers who just want attention. You know, Those informants responsible for Youtube deleeting all thos Horror movies off thier site. Bastards

Yeah. That's what eurobeat labels want. To have their entire studio destroyed by a single lawsuit.drnrg wrote:I doubt Deep Purple would even be aware of Eurobeat's exsistence, hence that is why I personally think they skip all that asking permission stuff. Ugh, I've just been cursing DOMINOnline.net for getting me all prematurely excited for nothing...
The homepage has the links to hear samples of the GGM songs from 192 via the avexnet links (the asx links) but of course they aren't even live yet! Alright we've already heard a little sample of Nack 5, but I'm excited to hear what the new version of Para Girl is like (as well as all the other samples of course )

I can see the phone coversation now.
Dave Rodgers: hey guys I would like to make a Eurobeat cover of the song Smoke On The water and would like your permission.
Deep Purple: Euro what?
Dave Rodgers: Eurobeat. A hyper dance style poular in Japan.
Deep Purple: You mean that Dancy transy stuff?
Dave Rodgers: Yes. Kind of, but more melodic.
Deep Purple: Yeah, whatever. Just don't F**K with the lyrics.
That's exactly my point. Big record labels are most likely not even aware of the Eurobeat genre. Most of those big wigs executive types are only in the sue for money, hardly ever the creative rights. prime examples are that Vanilla Ice song and M.C. Hammer's Can't Touch This. Rick James only came out of the shadows when the song went to number one and made millions. Big Labels wouldn't bother with Eurobeat unless it was Top 10 popular.Yeah. That's what eurobeat labels want. To have their entire studio destroyed by a single lawsuit.

Haha sorry about that... I just wanted to get the links done for when they eventually come up lolthe_ditz wrote:Ugh, I've just been cursing DOMINOnline.net for getting me all prematurely excited for nothing...

To be honest, I wasn't expecting the samples until around 28th/29th October (one week before release) but I reckon a cool idea would be if Avex released like a sample a day up to the release date - increase the anticipation and all that jazz!#Infinity wrote:God, I hate having to wait longer for the samples every time; they probably aren't gonna be up until some point next week tbh. I'm desperate to hear if the first Eurogrooves songs are truly worth listening to!
Of course, it may mean that the most anticipated song for you may not be available for preview until the day before release, but it would get everyone more hyped for the release (like we're not already hyped, but y'know...)
Never mind - I've had too much sugar...

I finally managed to buy this album last Friday (by using Visa instead of American Express), and I gotta say wow! This album is surprisingly fantastic! The amount of major standouts here is incredibly high, and I'm already finding myself listening to it a lot more than SEB 191.
I'm working on a review right now and I'm hoping to post it within a few days.
