For some reason the album never showed up when I searched "super eurobeat"; it was only when I looked up "I Won't Break Apart" that I got it.

As I had planned, the only songs I bought were the first five and Bang Bang. The tracks I purchased are all pretty strong, but none of them truly blew me away, although Jager comes close.

1. Jager - I Won't Fall Apart (Eurobeat Version) - Best song of the decade was Power Of My Love by Yo Shine and Ready Forever by Chris Stanton. No longer. This song stands head and shoulders above them both and is an amazing combination of strong Eurobeat with pop and disco. Very well done.

5/5

2. Stella - Forever Fly - Not a bad sounding song. Reminds me a lot of Stephy Martini's Emotions just more synth, a happier sound, and a slightly stronger kick drum. Borderline pop, but still strong. The acoustic guitar is a nice touch.

4/5

3. Powerful T. - Face The Race - I get that Eurobeat and racing are now forever intertwined but two songs straight that involve race reminds me of the triple race themes Manuel had. Anyway, this song is sung very well and a good Eurobeat song. I don't see anything wrong with it at all and a very good A-Beat C song as a whole, but I can see it being forgotten soon. Reminds me of The Year Of The Dragon mixed with Night Flight To The Sky and Fly To Me Baby.

4/5

4. Lolita - Good Love & Mystery

Since Lolita's been on Go Go's, I have yet to hear a song (besides Hurry Up Hurry Up) that has captured the essence of Lolita from her days in A-Beat C. I did like the break down in the bridge but this is a very disappointing Lolita song. The "violent" synths used in the instrumental chorus were cool, but the overall dark and mysterious feeling of the song take away from the song.

3/5

5. Manuel - All Is Magic

When Manuel left Go Go's for Dima, I was worried about what would happen to his sound. The demo he had on youtube concerned me a little bit but for the most part Manuel comes to Dima intact. A similar yet different sound from Manuel. I do want to see an aggressive style with him in the Dima sound but as it is, a decent song. I do see this song being forgotten after a few plays but well done nevertheless.

4/5

6. Mela - Sandy (The Factory Team Remix)

I never heard this song before I bought the songs from musico so I couldn't chime in. The weird thing about it is the synth chorus sounds more Lolita than the Lolita song from earlier! In fact as a whole, if Go Go's took their synths, made a Go Go's remix of this with Lolita singing it, I believe it would be amazing. The song isn't exactly typical SAIFAM but it is very familiar. I enjoy it.

4/5

7. Danny Rock - Rainbow (Guitar Version)

This song is typical Mauro. At first it sounds a lot like I Love Rock & Roll, then it sounds like Rock N Roll, then it sounds like a complete synthesis of typical current SAIFAM. In the end, the typicalness of the song turned me off enough. Is it bad? No, but it's really been done before.

3/5

8. Cindy - Squeeze Me

I'm so happy to finally hear several HRG songs without pitched female songs. This song is very Eurobeat Flash just with current HRG synths. I don't hate it nor do I find it very entertaining either. Again, I've heard stuff like this before.

2/5

9. Paul Harris - Bang Bang

So apparently Capaldi is the big producer at Delta now. I like the way he produces so it's not a problem. The song sounds great, the singing is strong and as a whole I found the song very entertaining. Missing that last thing that makes it epic but very well done.

4/5

10. Melissa White - Promised Discoland

Anyone that knows me knows I love Melissa White with a passion. This sounds like the stuff Pamsy had during the 180s just tweaked slightly (This probably is also due to the fact the song was made in 2008). I love the way this song makes me feel and the energy her voice projects. I absolutely adore this song and hope to hear more from Melissa White with the current SCP style.

5/5

11. Joe Banana - Cataclysm Night

Just pure insanity is the best way to describe this song. It feels rushed and hyper insanity. A very busy song. Doesn't do anything for me but makes me want to switch to the next song. Not my cup of tea.

1/5

12. M.O.V. feat. Frankie - Heat Me Up

A very strongly produced song that reminds me of older Delta stuff. Sounds a little bit like Mad Max stuff with King Of Fire by Chemical Boy; very interesting combination. I love the synths used in this song and enjoy the power.

4/5

13. Move - Tora Tora Tora (2010 Year Of The Tiger Remix SEB Version)

I love Domino's version with Bratt producing. This version is solid but sounds weird. It's okay.

3/5

14. Ace - Don't Stop The Dance (Vintage 2001 Deluxe Version)

Interesting to see this version of the song all of a sudden appear. The popish style and strong singing highlight a good close to the album. Not Eurobeat so I'm not going to grade it, but I like it.

NA

204 wasn't a complete bust like I thought at first. After a couple listens, I started liking a few of the songs more and more but I find myself looking at a bunch of songs that I'll like for a month or two and then not listening to for a long while. Jager and Melissa White brought forth instant hits and I expect them on Best Of 2010.

Sorry for cross-posting from Eurobeat Zone, but I pretty much can't find a better of putting this... I may not fully review this album since I only have 6 tracks so far and have no major desire at this stage to own the others (although I'm curious to hear Forever Fly and Heat Me Up now if they sound like Emotions and King of Fire!!)

I think I might be the only one who finds I Won't Fall Apart a little disappointing. Sure, the chorus is very catchy, and it's quite quirky but on the whole, the song just feels very shallow and empty. There is no rich "soundworld" (I don't like that word, but I feel that it portrays what I am trying to say here) - the hook is just a basic beat, a single synth line and a bass line. Also, the intro is really unsettling with that sort of industrial type drone clashing with the soft vocals - there is no point to it at all to my ears.

I desparately want to love the track as much as everyone else, but listening to it on my iPod in my bed last night, I was just struck by how unremarkable the production sounded. It's such a shame, and I know that in time I may get used to it and enjoy the song itself more, but for now I can't get past the obvious flaws in the production.

Good Love & Mystery on the other hand....WOW!!!! From the first note, this track takes me on an amazing rollercoaster ride. The melody rises and falls through so many key changes that I feel dizzy yet exhilirated by it at the same time. I adore the verse melody - Lolita's vocals sound perfect and she really sounds like she loves singing this track. The harsh brass tone to the hook gives the track an extra edge that raises it above other GGM productions of late. The last time a GGM track featured key changes in such an effective way was in Don't Let Me Go on 197, and that track is easily in my top 3 from that decade. I strongly suspect that Good Love & Mystery will be my favourite track from this album and indeed one of my favourite tracks of this decade. I just can't stop singing it!!

All Is Magic is growing on me very quickly - I adore the melody in the bridge, the chorus is also good (apart from that one line "and the show must go on" that sounds a bit off key to me) but the hook still sounds a bit odd to me - it doesn't seem to fit the atmosphere of the rest of the song.

I haven't really listened to Face The Race, Bang Bang or Promised Discoland enough to make any further comments at the moment.

I'm not going to post a full review of this album because a) I don't really have time today or over the coming weeks, and b) I don't think it's worthy of a full review. I'll just post various comments.

The biggest "surprise" on the album was 'Face the Race.' At first, I thought this was going to be another generic racing themed Powerful T. song just like his last five or so songs. For the most part, it was just that, but the riff has to be one of the best I've heard from A-Beat C in years. And, at the moment, I'm a big riff fanboy. I'm hooked to this song for that reason alone even though the rest of it is mediocre at best.

As I mentioned, all the SCP songs are very, very good. The Stella song took me by surprise too as I thought this was going to be the trancey Pamsy song of the album. It's very soothing and I quite like it. The Jager song has the wow factor that has been missing from SEB for ages; even for those who don't like this song, I don't think that can be denied. 'Promised Discoland' is probably the weakest of the three and doesn't wow me as much as it did the first time around, but it's not bad. There are better Melissa White songs around.

Well, we all knew this was coming from me - another HRG rant. Given how hyped everybody was about the two HRG songs on this release, I was expecting something phenomenal (by HRG's standards anyway), but, once again, I was disappointed. The Cindy and Joe Banana songs sound like they were concocted by the LMS team in 10 minutes, which is a disappointing facet of most of their productions these days. Also, both of these songs last for nearly 6 minutes; considering neither song has many highs or interesting gimmicks to hold my interest for long, they're more of a pain than an enjoyment to listen to. I'm quite a tolerant listener when it comes to music, but the first time I listened to 'Cataclysm Night' I needed to stop the song at the 4.5 minute mark since I couldn't stand listening to another minute and a half of it - I could've basically orchestrated what the rest of the song would've sounded like in my head anyway. HRG are far too predictable. Yes, I know I used to complain that HRG's extendeds weren't long enough, but it's a complete waste of time listening to their recent songs in full when HRG are essentially copying and pasting the same elements over and over again. You could create a song that lasts for 10 hours or however long you wanted by doing that. Not fun.

That's all that needs to be said about this album really. I definitely felt the absence of Eurogrooves and SinclaireStyle big time. Here are my scores if anybody's interested:

01. JAGER / I WON'T FALL APART [10/10]
02. STELLA / FOREVER FLY [8.5/10]
03. POWERFUL T. / FACE THE RACE [7.5/10]
04. LOLITA / GOOD LOVE AND MYSTERY [5/10]
05. MANUEL / ALL IS MAGIC [7/10]
06. MELA / SANDY [7.5/10]
07. DANNY ROCK / RAINBOW [7/10]
08. CINDY / SQUEEZE ME [3.5/10]
09. PAUL HARRIS / BANG BANG [6/10]
10. MELISSA WHITE / PROMISED DISCOLAND [8/10]
11. JOE BANANA / CATACLYSM NIGHT [1/10]
12. M.O.V. feat. FRANKIE / HEAT ME UP [6/10]
13. MAX / TORA TORA TORA <2010 YEAR OF THE TIGER REMIX> [5/10]

While I was very happy to see 4 SCP songs, I agree with Jay, the lack of SinclaireStyle and Eurogrooves was sad. I'd rather they take out one HRG song and put in a SinclaireStyle or Eurogrooves. The J-Euro song was also unnecessary; how many versions of Tora Tora Tora do we really need?

I just can't believe you rated Good Love & Mystery lower than both Rainbow and Sandy - two of the most generic and horribly cheesy Saifam tracks ever. :???:

I'm honestly kind of surprised you hate Rainbow so much. I think it's easily one of the better Danny Rock songs and has a catchy synth and vocal melody. Maybe beanbag's awesome StepMania simfile to it just made me enjoy it more?

Of the two Saifam tracks, Rainbow is the more bearable of the two, but there is just something about the chorus melody that really turns me off. I generally go for melodies that have a more minor key (like Good Love & Mystery for example), and while this track has a minor verse and bridge, it just goes into really cheery happy-clappy mode for the chorus and it irritates me for some reason. I think to be honest I'm just sick of this style of track from Saifam (especially with Mauro's vocals) which is why I am looking forward to their tracks on 205 to give us a change of style and pace from them.

The initial shock of suck on this album really turned me off, but I took some time to sit down and listen to it and I have my 'review'

Image
SUPER EUROBEAT 204

1. Jager / I Won't Fall Apart - 4/5
This type of song and the way the guy sings reminds me of Corbin Bleu from Highschool Musical; especially this song from Jump In: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDzsqUOwO4A - It's a nice song, but I can see it getting old fast.

2. Stella / Forever Fly - 4/5
This song makes me feel really relaxed, like I'm riding on a cloud through a magical kingdom of calmness. It's a far stretch from Eurobeat, but at least it isn't the gay club dance hit Stephy belted out last album, so it doesn't bug me too much being on SEB. Regardless, I think it makes me so relaxed I don't really care. XD

3. Powerful T. / Face The Race - 2/5
I like how this song has such a powerful message. Racial discrimination is still a serious issue these days and it's good that Mr. Powerful is making us aware through his music.

4. Lolita / Good Love & Mystery - 5/5
The pitch changes in this song make me so dizzy I can't listen to this song while walking, but other than that it's amazing. I can't help thinking that "Love & Mystery" is slang for head though, haha.

5. Manuel / All Is Magic - CRAP
Holy shit this song is SO BAD. It's like a tier above Dave Rodgers covering tatu. The style of the song doesn't fit his singing style and overall image that he had with ABeatC/GGM. (The style of suck doesn't really fit with many people anyway.) When I first heard this song I actually laughed. Manuel, please go back to GGM or any label that won't mistake your penis for a vagina.

6. Mela / Sandy - 4/5
I could imagine this song with an amazing Para Para dance. Stand alone, it's not that amazing of a track, but some mediocre songs with good dances turn into great songs for me. This one sounds like it was made for ParaPara. Though, in regard to Eurobeat fans outside of ParaPara, I could see them easily dismissing this track.

7. Danny Rock / Rainbow - 2/5
I don't have much of an opinion on this one.

8. Cindy / Squeeze Me - 1/5
This song is like a crap version of Midnight Lady with a girl singing. No thanks.

9. Paul Harris / Bang Bang - 1/5
No opinions on this one either.

10. Melissa White / Promised Discoland - 3/5
The problem with SCP is that even though they have (arguably) the best quality in production and the most talented singers, not every one of their songs are big hits. Like this one. The concept and idea seemed promising but the song, even though the quality of the production is really good, just seems dull and the famous phrase "easily forgettable."

11. Joe Banana / Cataclysm Night - 2/5
Looks like Joe Banana is preparing for the release of the next World of Warcraft expansion. I bet he would roll a Worgen, the ally nub.

12. M.O.V. Feat. Frankie / Heat Me Up - 2/5
Hit Me Up is ok. Clara sounds good (It is Clara, right? I'm tired.)

13. MAX / Tora Tora Tora (2010 Year Of The Tiger Remix) - WHY
You all know how I feel about this. This version sucks. I mean, the 2005 version sounds 2005 times better than this pile of suck and that version was only forgiveable because SCP redeemed themselves by producing Domino an amazing 2004 version of the song SHE made popular. Plus, with Domino / Tora Tora Tora 2004 out in unreleased land, why even consider remixing this for the millionth time? I'm highly disappointed.

14. Ace / Don't Stop the Dance (Vintage 2001 Deluxe Version) - n/a
It's a nice song - I don't see myself listening to it as it's not the type of music I enjoy, but it's alright. I would have preferred another Eurobeat song (or a rock version at least) than this. Ace's voice is great though!

Overall: A poor release

Top 3
1. Lolita / Good Love & Mystery
2. Jager / I Won't Fall Apart
3. Mela / Sandy (this is a stretch.)

Bottom 3
1. Manuel / All Is Magic
2. MAX / Tora Tora Tora (2010 Year Of The Tiger Remix)
3. Cindy / Squeeze Me

I can only see myself coming back to the Lolita track. Maybe I'll listen to the Manuel track if I want a laugh.

I gave this a spin for quite a few days now and all I can say is, There's more than meets the eye.

1. I Won't Fall Apart - Jager
Grade : A+

As far as samples go, "I Won't Fall Apart" definitely belongs in the just pass category, But that really isn't the case, As the song turns out to be much better than I expected. "I Won't Fall Apart" begins itself and SEB 204 with a great, soothing "Fevernova" style intro that hooked me right away from the beginning, It doesn't last very long though but it was definitely fun while it lasted. On a technical level, This song still doesn't disappoint, As it features one of the better chorus and vocals I have heard in 2010. Everything else though, Takes 2nd place but that's not something to go insane about. Jager may be a newcomer where SEB is concerned but with a track this strong, "I Won't Fall Apart" definitely wouldn't fall apart anytime soon. Hopefully, Better songs will start arriving soon but in the meantime, "I Won't Fall Apart" will do just nice. Oh yeah, Last but not least, For anyone who knows what I am talking about, Doesn't the "Nobody Nobody blah blah" part sounds extremely familiar ?

2. Forever Fly - Stella
Grade : A

It isn't over I guess, SCP delivers yet another awesome track that screams "Stephy Martini" all over despite the vocalist being "Stella". This song certainly won't please everyone but in my opinion, For what it's worth, It's definitely an enjoyable ride to the end. The technical details of this song, Again, Doesn't have too much to complain about save for the vocals during the chorus which can get a little bit too over at times. Other than that, This is a solid production from SCP that has it's melody and structure made in such a way that it fits into it's title extremely well, Giving listeners the feeling of flying or visualising themselves flying, Not the kind of "Fly" as in on airplane or a superhero type of fly ... You get what I mean. Bottomline, This one gets a stamp of approval.

3. Face The Race - Powerful T
Grade : A++

No one's going to stop the king of the race for sure, Not especially when he delivers his production with such class it's hard to resist. It has guitar backgrounds, A guitar solo and strong sounds which defines the usual style of "Powerful T" so technically speaking, Is there anything new that would make this song stand out from previous works of "Powerful T" ? I wouldn't say so but if anything, It is the tried and tested formula that "Powerful T"' excels in and works marvellously most or if not, All the time. Technical details wise, Everything is in place and the excellent riff is just ... well, Excellent. This song works wonders and as such, minor debits like being generic certainly doesn't matter at all. In conclusion, "Face The Race" satisfies, and is rightfully deserving of it's title as the best on the entire album.

4. Good Love And Mystery - Lolita
Grade : B

It has been a smooth ride so far and with the first 3 tracks being the way they are, How will this track fare ? Not too shabby I guess. In my own viewpoint, I had always found the individual "Lolita" and "Domino" or perhaps even "Domino & Virginelle" tracks to be better than most "Go Go Girls" production and this won't be an exception to that. This track does sort of make me think of "Nightrain" for some reason, Maybe it's the riff ... I can't say for sure but it does raise the stock for this song a bit higher. The whole melody is fairly reminiscene of "Don't Let Me Go" by Leo River, Which is perfectly alright. Vocalwork by "Lolita" is just her being herself so not much to complain there. It's not an amazing track that I would listen to on repeat everyday but I won't deny for sure that this song gets a green light.

5. All Is Magic - Manuel
Grade : F

Argh. No no no no no ... It's one thing to make a slow track but when it sucks this hard, It's hardly tolerable at all. Case in point ? This song. Following the footsteps of "I Can't Stop Loving You", Dima music once again lets me realise what a bore-fest they are capable of creating amidst their myriad of good songs like "I Belong To You", Which I really want to emphasise because I strongly feel that it should be the direction for all their slower tracks. Fortunately though, The saving grace of this song happens to be the fine vocalwork by "Manuel" which really helps to filter off a little bit of the negative vibe this whole disaster preaches to me, But even then, That's not saying a lot, This song still sucks a bazooka and is definitely the worst thing I have heard coming from Dima Music. Skip.

6. Sandy - Mela
Grade : A+

The whole point of this song is fun fun fun and more fun - and don't you forget it. This track couldn't have came at a more appropriate time after the torturous track before. It's really infectious and I am definitely not kidding when I say that I am grinning all by myself whenever I play this track, Yes, That's how powerful this track is. The vocals may seem a little weak at times but that's of no concern, As it doesn't bring the level down anywhere due in part to it's really powerful, Catchy and upbeat tune. Undeniably, "Sandy" is the best Saifam track I have heard in a while and all in all, A really successful track that I will definitely listen to a lot.

7. Rainbow - Danny Rock
Grade : B+

The stage is still Saifam's, Just not as strong as the previous track. While "Sandy" offers a really happy yet powerful beat, "Rainbow" goes for a rock-tronic saifam style that shows the difference. The whole mood of the song gives off the 90's rock concert stage vibe and was really made well. The best part of the song would definitely have to be the part around 2.55 - 3.40 where the instrumentals show itself in what I would call pure genius at work. The melody is just nice to listen to as well, As with the song as a whole package. It isn't the best on the whole album but if anything, Saifam could do worse than this.

8. Squeeze Me - Cindy
Grade : B

It's really nice to hear this sort of HRG songs, I think it's all for the better anyways. As with some of the other HRG songs on previous SEB albums, The level of wacko seems to be close to non-existant at all. In this instance, I couldn't hear the usual pitched vocals and wacky features HRG injects into their songs, Which could very well be a blessing considering how most of them makes an impression for all the wrong reasons anyways. However, That's not to say that this song is far from sporting it's own flaws though. What I really hated about this song was the repitition of "Squeeze Me" at the start and towards the end of the song, Which is really annoying and personally, Pardon my corrupted brain but it's hard not to think sideways whenever those reps start. Still, It is a rather commendable effort that could be better.

9. Bang Bang - Paul Harris
Grade : C-

Thanks, But no thanks, All I need is a dreamlover, And that's about it. Bang Bang is correct, This song needs to be Bang Bang-ed immediately. Now, While I don't exactly hate this song, I don't say I like it either. On the surface level, Everything seems to be perfect fit, Then again, The more I listen to it, The more I find that there's really nothing in this song I would deem as likeable. Sure enough, Paul's vocalwork is strong as usual but with a lacklustre song like that for him, I doubt there's much that can be salvaged to be honest. Frankly speaking, There's virtually nothing present in the song captivating enough to go ga-ga over about, Not the overall melody, Not the chorus, Not the whole repitition of "Bang Bang", Nothing at all. It just feels flat to listen to this song and I just can't help but feel indifferent towards this whole song overall. Not this time, Sorry.

10. Promised Discoland - Melissa White
Grade : A++

This album is full of surprises, On sample, This sounded downright crappy but nothing could be further from the truth, This song isn't crappy at all and is actually one of the best songs on the album. The crews at Avex were cutting samples while snoozing I guess. The euro-trance melody is much more than welcomed, And just about everything from the vocals to the chorus etc etc in this song is so deserving of praise that I just can't stop doing it. "Melissa White" hasn't made an impactful appearance ever since "Everlasting Fire" so it was rather nice to see her coming back with a big bang once again.

11. Cataclysm Night - Joe Banana
Grade : A-

Hah, Looks like I shouldn't even be surprised at the surprise the album is throwing at me bit by bit huh ? I guess we're moving on some kind of robotronic sounds now ? Okay. On a technical level, I could say that I liked everything about the song except for the rather crappy chorus which sometimes even comes across as non-existant. It does pull down the overall song a little but nevertheless, It's definitely not an understatement to say that this is perhaps the best HRG song I have heard in 2010 after "In Your Car". If HRG keeps up with this good work, I would be much more glad, Really.

12. Heat Me Up - M.O.V feat Frankie
Grade : A+

"Heat Me Up" is the best song on the album! Well, That's before the full album was released. Now that it is released, It's a little less than that. It's still a good song though but with the competition of other tracks, It's of course, Hard to stand it's ground. Come to think of it, There's really not much to say about this track besides it being really good and featuring an overall melody that is pleasing to the ears and kinda powerful, Not as powerful as "Catcaclysm Night" but will do nonetheless. That's one point for another newcomer.

13. Tora Tora Tora [2010 Year Of The Tiger Remix] - MAX
Grade : B+

Again... Fortunately, It isn't for the worst. It's a solid production no doubt and is definitely enjoyable to listen to overall so no complains there. There's no real flaws to be fished out though, so that's pretty positive. I have always liked the 2005 remix and this serves as another addition to the "Tora Tora Tora" remixes which is a good thing I guess ... Umm, Otherwise, Not much else to say besides : Cool Remix. Any possibilities of a rock mix or perhaps, a remix of "Seventies" ?

14. Don't Stop The Dance [Vintage 2001 Deluxe Edition] - Ace
Grade : D

If they think this can rival the original, Then the people who made this must be sorely mistaken. As I have mentioned earlier in the review of "All Is Magic", It's okay to make slow songs but it's definitely not okay when those slow songs have crappiness included since they are plain torturous. This is yet another example of that, As it is a total U-turn from the already magnificent and dancey original to being the Vintage 2001 crappy edition. It is a better song than "All Is Magic" for sure, Though that just means it doesn't suck as much. In conclusion, The dance stops now, Come back in a month's time.

Final Words :
Hahaha, I haven't been surprised by an SEB album as much as this one. The samples released for this album were some of the crappiest to date, Yet the full album does a turnaround to become the best of 2010 so far. This time around, Aside from Dima Music and the minority crappy tracks, Every label performed really well and managed to showcase some of their quality work. Newcomers M.O.V feat Frankie and Jager definitely needs to be commended as they have given us some really awesome showcase despite being their first. I only hope that this high level continues in future SEBs, That's all for now then.
Final Grade : A

Best 3/4 :
Face The Race - Powerful T / Promised Discoland - Melissa White
Heat Me Up - M.O.V feat Frankie
I Won't Fall Apart - Jager

Worst 3 :
All Is Magic - Manuel
Don't Stop The Dance [Vintage 2001 Deluxe Edition, yeah right ...] - Ace
Bang Bang - Paul Harris

Honorable Mention (s) :
Sandy - Mela / Cataclysm Night

I'm pretty sure you were referring to Jorge here but I'll address this anyway. 'Sandy' is one of those happy, feel good productions that has been absent from SEB for a while. What's more, it doesn't irritate you to death like those Bubbles songs do. That's basically why I think it's one of the better songs on the release. Sure, it's cheesy, but nobody said it was perfect.

I might've been a tad generous in my grading of 'Rainbow' because I purchased it the day it was released on the Saifam site, which was 2-3 years ago. It's very difficult to rate songs I listened to nearly 3 years ago fairly. Anyway, 'Rainbow' is no avant-garde production by any stretch of the imagination, but it's something slightly different from Saifam, which is always welcome. I don't care for it though and probably won't come back to it much in the future.

'Good Love & Mystery', on the other hand, encapsulates everything I think is wrong with Lolita these days. Jorge put it perfectly when he said that the magic of Lolita simply isn't there anymore under GGM. I'm still coming to terms with the death of the screechy Lolita we all knew and loved, I suppose.

I thought I explained why I didn't like the Lolita song too much. I appreciate the inventiveness but I see it like this; when you listen to an Ace song, you get a style you expect even if they sound completely different or the song is slower or faster or what not. Same with a Dave Rodgers and so forth. You can even say that with Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and almost any other artist out there. I didn't get that feeling at all from the Lolita song. I thought it was her straying too much out of the zone she's known for and it just didn't feel like a Lolita song. Currently my favorite Lolita song from GoGo's is Hurry Up Hurry Up because it felt right. That and Super Eurobeat with Domino & Mega NRG Man. I like GoGo's but I feel like they've changed the style of Lolita and Virginelle too much for my liking. All the other artists have benefited greatly however.

I think it's TIME for another positive review of this cd. There are alot of different sounds and ideas put into this compilation. A couple of older names made a return as well as new artists makiing thier debut. It's probobly just me, but lately I get the feel that these newer SEBs sound more like a Eurobeat Flash collection more than an SEB. There are way more Uplifting(for lack of a better word) songs featured here than a traditional SEB. It also has to do with appearance of more Saifam & HRG Attack and less ABeatC and Eurogrooves; oh and let's not forget the two last remixes as well. The initial let down is the absence of Eurogrooves, but in the end the two HRG Attack songs and Manuel gave me the same feel as when 191 came out and I was pleasantly pleased. I remember liking the Go2 song that everyone else seemed to bash, because the group tried something new. It still had Eurobeat soundworlds, but much slower ,so I'm not surprise in the end I like the Manuel more than others do? What's great about these newer cds is the surprise factor. I Usually like the songs that stand out by previews alone, but in the end I end up enjoying some of the other ones as well. A crappy preview can sound so much better once I hear that intro, which is the case with many of the songs featured on this cd. So let's get to it. Dr.NRGs review of SEB 204. 8)

01. JAGER / I WON'T FALL APART
SCP once again has the honour to start up the party. This TIME we get the newest addition to the label's stable; Mike Snap. I'm going to go ahead and say that this guy's vocals sound very weird at first listen. He kinda reminded me of Mike Jay's vocals from TIME. Another singer with such awesome songs that I kinda really got into his odd vocals in the end. This song kinda takes a poppy path here. It's catchy and has good singalong value, but I expected a little more style like "Speed Car". The intro is very good and takes a page from traditial SCP. The soundworlds; mainly percussion instruments, sound like Jay Lehr style and the riff is very strong. The whole song is infact a good SCP bouncer. You got the whoa whoas, strong riff and catchy chorus, but other than that, it kinda goes by too quickly. It doesn't even have a bridge to the chorus, just kinda jumps it right from the verse. I attribute these slight flaws to the fact that it is too short for an extended version. Comon, at least work it up to 5 mins. Finally as I allready mentioned ,his vocal ability is kinda off and sounds even more so in the somewhat irritating part after the chorus; where he inserts lines after each whoa whoa. I didn't particularly care this part and could have been ommitted for a stronger Eurobeat song. Add to the fact that the break, sounded promising ,but is too short to enjoy. I think Sergio Dall Ora should really school SCP in the intro and break department.LOL! In the end I was satisfied with the song, but it doesn't have the lasting value of such powerhouses like "Speed Car" and "Go Beat Gun" and is in no way ,the gem of this cd.
8-/10

02. STELLA / FOREVER FLY
Right from the first note of this song, I kinda got the feeling I was listening to some sort of Eurogrooves/SCP mash up. I was expecting Elena Ferreti to start singing. :P I think the intro should have been longer to really introduce the beauty of the riff. :30 second intros just lack somthing. Not to say that this song is bad; infact ,it's my favourite SCP entry on this cd. It's a typical Aishu SCP number, but it really emphasiszes on the aishu soundworlds that I love. No tech sounds to ruin the atmosphere and Stella herself sounds really amazing. The chorus is really uplifting and the last part right after the riff is classic style I would expect from TIME. I even thought of Hely's "Forever Sad" See the similiarities in titles? The break with the "Forever Fly" whisper is great ,but again should have been longer and played around with a bit. This really is a gem of a song. So much that I had to go back and listen to her first song just to see what I overlooked the first TIME. SCP presents us with thier first perfect grade on the cd. BTW I noticed a couple of new names in the credits. E.Scarpa - P.Scarpa. I say use them more often for SCP aishu style Eurobeat.
10-/10

03. POWERFUL T. / FACE THE RACE
Next we get the return of Powerful T.? Or so AVEX would have us belive that he is indeed still active? Let's start off with the intro, which is an important part of any song. This one starts off very powerful. Even using hard guitars style like Toby Vale's "Heartbreaker", but soon after takes a different path and goes a very poppy route. It's not bad and sounds very 80's, but sounds a bit off ,especially when that MEGAA powerful riff kicks in. This is where the song gets most of it's POWER from, cuz the melody in the verses and bridge takes a backseat and almost goes by unnoticed. It's a shame because aside from the riff; this song has an amazing chorus. I can't put into words ,but the guitar effects during the part where he says "race" are exactly what you would expect fromn a Powerful T. song. Agression to it's max! Too bad the rest of the song is missing that overall aggressive vibe. Another part that sounds great is the everpresent guitar solo. What's funny is that the overall break part of the song sounds like a melody from a Dave/x female aishu duet. I think this part could have been more aggresive to really give me the Racing feel of the song. Hopefully we will have another Powerful T. in the future with All the right elements, but for now this one goes down as a desent Powerful T. entry.
8-/10

04. LOLITA / GOOD LOVE AND MYSTERY
Wow! We are to one of the first surprises for me on this cd. Lolita's style has never really been my cup of tea. I can name all her prefered songs in one hand. My favourite being "Cooling My Desire", So I wasn't really expecting too much from this entry. What blew me away is that this song starts up with a powerul and somewhat aggressive intro for a GGMs song, so I immediatley got into it's groove. By the TIME the riff started playing, I knew not to expect any screamy/Screachy vocals, but rather a pretty great track. The part that really caught me off guard was the bridge. I love the way the music is dropped during this part and I love the way she sounds singing Over & Lover. It also really introduces the catchy chorus even more. They use this music drop effect again in the beginning of the second and third verse. and finally in the last chorus. I guess I really appreciate the labels percussion once the chaotic synths are dropped. I feel the same way about alot of HRG's songs, that is why I love thier intros even more. I guess I'll start counting my Lolita hits on my other hand if her songs are gonna showcase a bit more power.
9/10

05. MANUEL / ALL IS MAGIC
We are up to my favourite track off this cd. This song oozes all kinds of Epic value and I'm not surprise its from DiMarcantonio. First off, I was a huge fan of Manuel's "All The Best" so it comes to no surprise that this song blows the rest of the entries on this cd out of the water. Right from the start you can listen to Dima's expirimentation by borrowing a bit from Beatles- "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". Sung intros are allways possessing that Epic feel and Manuel's vocals inject just the right kinda power in this kinda Aishu song. Even the whispers sound great. I notice that while it has a definate Aishu vibe; the instruments are played in a very powerful syle. The backing soundworlds and percussion throughout the song give me a "chuga chuga" vibe. Kinda like a train. Very 80s and seldom used in this manner. An 80s Italo Fan should immediatly feel the groove of the song. The synths are used Italo style and in different ways throughout the verses. They accompany Manuel's everchanging vocal range perfectly and all his shout outs are spot on for this type of song. Oh yes and this song has an 80s new wave break that showcases yet another idea in the third verse by dropping the music and using aggressive guitars to emphasize and remind us that we are not listening to a aishu song. Not at all, but rather a powerful track that wouldn't sound out of place next to any 90s Italo gem. Hopefully Dima and Manuel will team up and create more "MAGIC" like this in the future for Manuel to sing. Amazing first showing for this promising new composer. I wonder if the inital dislike from other fans is because he left GGMs or because they really feel the song is that bad? Anyway, the definate HIT for this new cd up untill the final magic whispers.
10+++/10

06. MELA / SANDY
Second surprise of the cd comes from one of the songs that did absolutly nothing for me when I first heard the preview. I had basically written it off as some crappy happyhardcore offering from Saifam, but to my suprise, it turns to be one of my favs from the cd. and this cd has many. First off, you gotta understand the whole idea behind the song to truly appreciate it. She kinda letting the guy know she is one and only and the one of his dreams. "the one he has never met before" Even the roars and cheers in the intro are kinda giving off her high self assurance feel of the lyrics. Man, and that intro is classic Saifam done the right way. The bass guitars and those synths are in perfect harmony. I can see Mela comming out on the stage and doing this performance especially for her guy who seems to be in the audience. The overall uplifting atmosphere is exactly what was missing from some of Saifam's creations in the last few years. Not only the girl, but the song sounds like no other. Not your typical Saifam. Not by long shot. That intro returns and just at the right TIME to introduce yet another different one-TIME only part of the song. Pianos ,vocal sampleings and chear effects make this one one of Saifams best good feel songs in years. Kinda like "Chilly Boy", but a bit slower to fit the TIMEs. A perfect summer song.
10/10

07. DANNY ROCK / RAINBOW
The fact that this ong follows Sandy really gives it that "umph" to make it sound even better, but since I already own this song, the initial hype is gone. I was never a huge fan of this one. It's fast and uplifting, showcases great guitars and the perfect vocals of Mauro Farina, but just sounded too much like all thier songs comming out during that period, that it didn't really have a lasting effect on me. The fact that this song has a rather crappy technoish break that goes nothing at all with the rest of the song's atmosphere, gives it even less replay value. It's a fun song to listen to especially if your still on the "Sandy" high, but Saifam can do better.
7+/10

08. CINDY / SQUEEZE ME
We are up to one of my highlights of the cd. This has everything to do that I was promised new exciting HRG Attack with diiferent ideas from it's preview...and this song delivers. I admit that I've been on an HRG Attack high these days ever since they started releasing thier unreleased songs on Juno. I've especially been enjoying Cindy's songs, "Russian Gangsters" and "Try My Sister", so it's no surprise that I started liking this song right from it's intro. There are about 5 different ideas used in that intro alone. The riff is typical HRG Attack, but from the catchy good stuff. What you really gotta listen for is all the raw piano notes injected during the verses and the very subtle piano beats in the chorus. HRG Attack always have powerful choruses and this one really gives off the feeling that Cindy wants to be squeezed hard by her man. Her vocals sound great and it's great to hear some decently pitched female vocals now adays. My favourite verse is the third one ; where you can hear the soundworlds at a more crisp value. Meaning they turn down the mono effect a bit. One can really enjoy the labe'ls songs even more now that they are in extended. One of the best parts is right after the third chorus ending with an aggressive guitar note and going into the last break effect. This is HRG Attack expirimenting and you can hear it in the different instruments and effects used in the song and I'm glad they at least got rid of the Christmasy chimebell effects used a few years ago.
10/10

09. PAUL HARRIS / BANG BANG
We are up to another Paul Harris song on the series. Sadly enough this one doesn't provide the same excitement "Dream Lover" had for me on SEB 202. As far as can remeber The word "Bang" or any other way it's used in a song has guaranteed me a powerful aggressive song that I immediatetly concider a stand out on any SEB. Think of past songs like. Bang bang Bang, Bang bang Boom Boom, Bang Bang, Bang Bang For Your Love,Bang bang Crashing...ect.. and that spells certified hit for me. So where does this song go wrong? Let's start with the intro. I'm officially sick of this rehashed intro and wouldn't mind if I didn't hear it for another five years. Are they offecially out of ideas for intros at DELTA or what? The cool part is the repeating of Bang Bang, but then I get the feeling I'm gonna listen to Big Bad & Hot Love for the 100th TIME and this is supposed to be a brand new song. Also we have some very mediorce melodies in the verses and bridge that sound anything , but BANG BANG. The chorus itself is barely passable for the kind of aggressive vibe I expect from a BANG BANG themed song. The phrase "Bang Bang" just doesn't take center stage in the chorus and Paul sounds too bored to pull it off. This the same guy who sang Iron Man? Where is the power in Luks's vocals when he really needed them?
6+/10

10. MELISSA WHITE / PROMISED DISCOLAND
Luckily a cool disco feel of a song follows that DELTA train wreck. This TIME we have Mellisa White with an older unreleased song as SCP's third showing on the cd. This one goes down as one of my favs from her. The intro is cool , but again should have been longer. I'm pretty sure I would like thier songs even more if they extended thier intros form half a minuit to a full 60 seconds. The melody of this song follows very much that one of "One Touch" .Especially during the verses. It could have easily been pulled off by Jay Lehr as well. Here, Mellisa sounds great and this song also sounds like it could have been a big hit in 80s. The strong synths injected after each TIME she says "Promised Disco Land" are giving the song even more incredible power and really give the song that 80s Hi Energy feel. The song also features a good break and perfect Bridge that showcases my favourite last chorus, where for a split second right after she says Promised Discoland, you hear an amazing synth effect that is used only once in the whole song. Finally a good outro puts this song in the near perfect grade on this cd. Hopefully 7a will find more hidden gems like this one in SCPs unreleased archives.
9/10

11. JOE BANANA / CATACLYSM NIGHT
This song gets chaotic insanity award of the year. From it's crazy title to it's overthetop sound effects, it has to be one of HRG's most expirirmental creations this year. I'm at a,loss with words of how great this song turned out. I think I have only heard the robotic effects on an HRG Attack song a number of TIME's and right now I can't reacall where, but it's immediatley giving this song that fresh vibe. Joe Banana has certainly been buisy belting out hit after hit. I think this would have been a perfect TIME to ressurect the Steve Tempest title, as this song very much follows that same choatic/criminal melody. This is one of HRG Attack newest versatile trax. They keep the same Dead Or Alive melodic vibe, but throw us off guard with a totally uplifting chorus. It's that chorus that is giving the song it's incredible melodic power. For those of you who remember "I'm Your Gangster" also by Joe, you will hear where the song gets it's choatic melody style from. That is one of my favourite Joe songs for it's pure gothic value, so it's no surprise I went completely nuts over this song. this one lowers the mono effect a tad more than the Cindy song, so you can really get a crisp sound and there are no irritating hyped female vocals to ruin the atmosphere. You can really hear all this differences in the new HRG Attack material and I'm for one am hyped at all the new effects this song has. The choatic synths are still present but don't overshadow the melody; not even in the riff, which uses a slightly different approach in the way it's played and by the last TIME the break comes around we are treated to a great drum roll which introduces the last chorus perfectly. This is HRG Attack at thier chaotic creative peak. Pure Insanity, as one member put it, but done perfectly. looking very forwad to Cy-Ro's new song which looks to be sung by festari as well.
10/10

12. M.O.V. feat. FRANKIE / HEAT ME UP
Its TIME to suck it up & down! :D I don't know about Nine getting the "head" feel in the Lolitas song, but I'm sure getting the vibe in this song. It's subtle, but first he says shake it up & down and then he says suck it up & down. This song oozes all sorts of sexual innuendo vibes and partly the reason I enjoyed it so much. Another would be it's overall aggressive melody that remnded me of older DELTA material like Alien Light and Tsunami Comes. This is what Bang Bang should have tried to at least sound like. The vocalist, who sounds new; has that aggressive sound I so much adore in male vocalists. There is a heavy Italian accent in there and I wouldn't be surprised if it was Roby himself taking the mic. there absolutly no flaws in this song at all and just keeps injecting more and more power with each passing second. It has everything I like in a song, great intro, outro, chorus, riff and even that much coveted break with old school vocal sampling. even Clara sounds great sampled as she says NNNight. I Really hope Roby starts dishhing out some more fresh material at DELTA. I know this one is older unreleased music, but DAMN does it hit the spot, much like a good B.J. would :D
10/10

That pretty much ends the collection for me, since these two next songs are wasted space IMOP. Warning:Short reviews uphead

13. MAX / TORA TORA TORA <2010>
Never cared for the original, so I care even less for this Japanese remix. The whoos are irritating to the MAX and I'm being sarcastic by using the group's name here. The rest just goes by with no impact on me whatsoever, cuz it has no singalong value. Not even the Running In The 90s effects can save it. It just sounds so dated and club related, so I say skip it.
5/5

14. Ace/ Don't Stop The Dance [Vintage 2001 Deluxe Edition]
There is nothing vintage about this song whatsoever. I mean the song isn't horrible persay, but doesn't belong on an SEB series with a reputation for dishing out fast catchy music. Will that one Westerner actually purchase this cd at $34 bucks for this song alone? I seriously doubt it, but any way on the bright side, Ace sounds good and I like the continuous piano beats, but the Chorus is too Backstreet boys like and not from the good end. It inspires no dancing whatsoever. The song also features some wicked violine notes ,but only for a mere moment. In the end I would rate it high on a pop song value. Much better than all that Lady Gaga, Jason Deluro, Kie$ha crap Westerners listen to that's fur sure.
0/10(on Eurobeat scale)
8+/10(on a pop scale)

Best Three
All Is Magic- Manuel
Cataclysm Night- Joe Banana
Heat Me Up- M.O.V feat. Frankie

Bottom Three
Tora Tora Tora- Max <2010>
Bang Bang- Paul Harris
Rainbow- Danny Rock

Honourable Mention
Sandy- Mela

A very surprising cd that I eneded up liking a lot more than I ever thought I would. I basically love all kinds of Eurobeat, so these are the collections I love from SEB. A perfect summer vibe with a lot of expirimenting ,but never sounding like another genre. Lets hope 205 follows a similiar path.
