Eurobeat atrocities

Post by drnrg » 13 May 2010, 03:27

Of course this is a matter of taste, but here you can list the songs that you think are the example of what you concider "bad" Eurobeat.

Mega NRG Man -Ddd Initial D(My Car Is Fantasy) (ABeatC)

has anyone else heard this atrocity? This Song can be the spokesperson for everything that ABEATC can do wrong in one song. Starting with the wishy washy airy Intro that sounds like a cut and paste job from intros from songs that Norma Sheffield, Ace Warrioir and Analise have had in thier songs before . I remeber this style from Analise songs a few years back. Then thos aweful airy synths. The Riff is practically nonexsistant since it sounds exactly like the chorus. The rest of the song goes by like a ghost, and the chorus is so laughable and sounds so ridiculous that I myself had to turn down the volume, as I thought what were they thinking when they wrote this? The theme is light years from the vibe of the song. I don't watch these animi cartoons , but I but I know it's about racing and this song doesn't make wanna race anything, but out of the room. The break is horendouz, as all it does is again cut & paste breaks from the worst AbeatC material out there. I'm sorry, but Analise songs from the 170s come to mindInfact when the outro came along, I thought my palyer had just stopped. I would be surprised if anyone added this song to thier Mega NRG Man top 10. It's so bad I had to listen to it a few TIMEs just to get the shocked value out of my head. It's easily the worst song Mega NRG Man has ever put out and I'm not surprised if this was the final straw that made him walk out of the studio.

I challenge anyone to say they like this song and give an revelent excuse, other than that it has Thomas Marin vocals, which is a shame cuz he actually sounds a bit interested in singing the song, thus wanting to make it work. Was this ever used as a theme song for the series

BTW, this came off the Itunes special Vol. 6. My question is there anything on the album that worth the purchase or do they all have this airy feel to them?

There are a few other wispy songs, but there are some stronger entries, too. I really like Red Hot Planet and Fireballs - those tracks are a lot punchier and sound more like classic Mega NRG Man.

I like this song but really, What do you expect me to say of it because in the end, We are just going to round and round in our own opinions about why this song is bad/good. FYI, I really don't like going into all the technical details about a song because I feel there really isn't a need to. Anyways, If you really want a reason, then allow me to copy paste a little because I can't think at the moment.

Reason :
This song can be the spokesperson for everything that A-Beat-C can do right in one song. Starting with the intro that sounds like a cut and paste job from intros from songs that Norma Sheffield, Ace Warrior and Annalise have had in thier songs before, except better. I remember this style from Annalise songs a few years back, and that isn't a major problem at all. Then those acceptable airy synths. The riff is practically nonexsistant since it sounds exactly like the chorus, which is perfectly okay in my opinion. The rest of the song goes by like a wind, and the chorus is so well done and sounds so awesome that I myself had to turn down the volume because good songs doesn't have to be loud to sound good, as I thought what were the geniuses thinking when they wrote this? The theme is light years from the vibe of the song. I do watch these anime cartoons, I know it's about racing and this song doesn't make me wanna race out of my room. The break is okay, as it cuts & paste breaks from the best A-beat-C materials out there. Annalise songs from the 170s come to mind, which is a good thing because I liked most Annalise songs during the 170s. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone added this song to their Mega NRG Man top 10, because I personally did. It's so good I had to listen to it a few times just to get the shock value out of my head because it was too good. It's easily one of the best song Mega NRG Man has ever put out.

Seriously though, There are much worse songs that can ever be labelled as atrocities in my opinion. Take for example "IKETS", It's easily an atrocity to my ears and words just can't describe how god awful it is and if that isn't enough, add another commentary for "Pagal" as well.

Now that was funny.

I actually like AbeatC, but not that song. On a brighter side I got Red Hot Planet, just like Infinty recommended and I gotta say it was a whole 360 degree turn in the right direction. I really liked that one.

I can't recall much about Pagal, but I know I havn't gone back to it ,since it made it's appearence, as for Internet Killed The Eurobeat Stars; Bah.. I remeber giving that song a pretty low grade for an HRG Attack song. I agree it's bottom of barrel for them. I remeber I purchased the Crazy World Of Franz Tornado just to make up for that song. :P

Renoir - Because I Need You. This isn't eurobeat at all, it's Cascada-style Hands-Up Hardstyle.

It's not Eurobeat, yes, but it's a damn good song anyway <3

OK, without going all "this song blows chunks, f**k this song, god***n it!", I'd really like to know why out of all the songs in eurobeat history, Frontal Impact blows the worst for you L14...

While I like the song, the riff itself is a little meh.

While I can't speak for him, for myself Frontal Impact has extremely painful to listen vocals, a terrible melody, an ear grating synth hook and at the same time sounds insanely generic even for a eurobeat song.
My pick for a eurobeat atrocity is Bonnie & Clyde - Criminals and Toby Vale - Heartbreaker 2007. They each make me want to slit my wrists.

Yep, this was gonna be my choice - ugly, ugly, ugly!!

Also, I really cannot stand Who's Making Love by Lou-Lou Marina or The Night Is Party by Baby Gold - god knows what the HRG production team were drinking the day they produced those piles of poop!

Intersting how someone's damnation can easily be anotherone's salvation. Those happen to be on my favs list. One of them becomming my song of the year for 2007. Is there a particualr reasons why those songs turn you off so? I'll probobly go back to the 179 thread just to read your review anyway, but for now enlighten me, because Heartbreaker 2007 was one of the first songs that really turned Christian on to singing in a more aggressive style. True story :)

Bonnie & Clyde has a interesting story and really had to do with what cd placement it had for me. It actually took a long TIME for me to get into that song. That song came off one of my all TIME favourite cds. Vol. 153. Those who know me will know why.(read: Mike J. Touch & Go )In fact that cd only had 3 booboos. I had that cd in my player for the whole year and Bonnie & Clyde was actually one of the last songs I started playing. Took about 3 months for it to catch on. At that TIME the majoraty of Sinclaires SEB entries were so wishy washy that I craved for Agreesive DELTA material, so once I started noticing the old skool intro and soundworlds(very 80s Ameriacn Hi- NRG) that Crimnals had, it immediatly became one of my favs. I guess the fact that it came off such a stellar cd helped alot in the end....and I love the alias Bonnie & Clyde.

Question: What did you think of the original Hearbreaker- Mike Hammer?

The fact that I was slave to pretty much what AVEX chose from HRG Attack in those days for SEB was the reason I kinda started slightly liking those two songs. The only thing I recall from those two now is that both came off the same cd. and to top ot off I don't think HRG was too hot in the 160s. only Maid Attack, Lucky Doom and Get The Darkside... had a lasting effect on me. Thank goodness they decided to start releasing thier catalog on Juno. 8)

as for Frontal Impact. One of the best DELTA songs ever for me. Up there with Iron Man Wihtout Your Love , Bad Connection and I Need A Mystery

Any time Domino or Dave Rodgers sing in Japanese. Sorry, but it just doesn't work for their voices!

Oh boy, there's a ton of bad apples out there...
The only REALLY annoying song that comes to mind at the moment is Easy Busy by Kiki & Kika, and anything with DJ Goofy in it. >_<

Easy Busy is totally overplayed, if you ask me, but I had "I Wanna Play Guitar" on heavy rotation a few months ago. It's so sacchrine and awesome!

Most of the songs I dislike, my apologies are the newer male vocalists from EG and TIME. Christian's vocals give me pangs in the side of my abdomen :( I didn't like Take This Way or Ready Forever because of this.

If I listed all the eurobeat atrocities out there, this post would go on forever.

Some of the more notable ones are from the 190s, the decade of atrocities, including 'Monkey Dance '09', 'I Am Superstar' and 'Pagal'. I think just about everybody would agree that these songs are abominable.
