Re: Today's Tune
Got a real nice classic Eurobeat track from 1990 for y'all here.
TIME Records coming through with a real old-school sound. Fernando Bonini on the vocals.
MAIO & CO. - BLACK POWER

It's a blast, when you want to go against the class
And fight to reach a life that you want
They want to forbid you
It's a crime
Day by day, you became a perfect slave to blame
Don't you think you gave your soul to the king?
What kind of man are you now

Re: Today's Tune
As I mentioned once, don't trust too much record credits if the sound betrays more Pasquini than Farina, especially in their case... So Dave Rodgers probably choosen vocals from his small crew and Gelmetti mixed.
At least, I want to keep believe that here is a next example of Luigi Raimondi as a underrated singer, besides some parts of D.Connection "Easy To Say" comparing with later tracks very clearly nominate him as the main voice.
I agree with you, Brian Ice or Roberto Gabrielli might've sung more than it happened.

This was the time when Farina, Gelmetti, Moroni and Pasquini all contributed to the same track

Re: Today's Tune
My favorite Maio & Co. song has got to be "Walking On The Moon" . I love the title ,sleeve art ,vocals ,and the craftiness of the synth riff. Extended vesrion of course.

I'm usually fairly well acquinted with 90s dance stuff. This thing was a brand new entry for me though, it sounds exactly like the stuff we could've had on Hyper Techno albums.

Nick Festari - Web Kills The Radio (TIME Machine)
Sounds just like one of those Italo HRG Attack songs. Love it.

Re: Today's Tune
I'm not convinced of either being him or not, but several people in the italo disco scene (even close to I Venti) told it was him. Remember it was the 80s, multiple personas were created, and vocalists sung with several tones back then, to match the right persona. And sometimes multiple vocalists were stacked. Listen closely to the last seconds of the chorus. "Sayyyyyyyy" really sounds like Giancarlo, if you ask me.Crockett wrote: ↑06 Aug 2017, 14:59 Top !
Whereas I would say very low chance, I'm almost sure, not Pasquini's frequency of voice. Laurent Gelmetti once commented my link to this song, but skipped who was the lead vocal, however mentioned Clara Moroni, so I guess he isn't sure who is the male voice.
In this topic http://eurobeat-prime.com/forum/viewtop ... =3729#3729 Newfield didn't deny it either. Not to say that's any proof. As I already said, I don't know for sure. It's an interesting topic, by the way, for people who like history by Newfield
For today I'll choose D.J.M.T. - Eye To Eye, partly Farina, partly Pasquini. This is such a classic just because of that!

Sure, you don't need to tell me. Eurobeat begins for me from Aleph, I stole a lot of time some artists to clarify and disclose 80's and early 90's secrets and multiple identities. Unfortunately vocals seem the most forgotten case.jeurobeat wrote: ↑08 Aug 2017, 06:03I'm not convinced of either being him or not, but several people in the italo disco scene (even close to I Venti) told it was him. I just heard that from the technical point of view, one thing is modification of the voice with its remained features, different thing is to create by computer almost new vocal... And I'm not sure whether in 1987 was it possible and necessary for ordinary Italo Disco.
Luigi Raimondi is the mysterious studio producer, even Marcello or Jeroen who visited once for a while studios could miss such top secret composers. Pasquini's voice is the obvious association where Aleph (under Manzi-Bellini) signed the music. This is not even analysis the vocal of Raimondi, among early Aleph discography Pasquini has never sounded so changed in my opinion.
We don't confuse fans finally, discussion is an advantage regarding old Eurobeat uncertain matters.
The track above is fully made by Farina - Crivellente where Pasquini only performed and contains the unique sharing of voices. Interesting how Farina and Pasquini could sound in the same duo of Eurobeat !jeurobeat wrote: ↑08 Aug 2017, 06:03In this topic http://eurobeat-prime.com/forum/viewtop ... =3729#3729 Newfield didn't deny it either. Thanks for the link to forum thread. I haven't found it before. I never seen these people here. A bit sad, at the very beginning in this place were often logged persons who really had wider knowledge and contact with artists and I Venti D'Azzurro. Well, the subject of old school Eurobeat was also alive, now is anyway dead here excluding us.
