Eurobeat heard in new Netflix show

Hey guys, long time eurobeat lover here. I was watching the new Netflix show "Stranger Things" which is set in the 80s, when I heard something that sounded suspiciously like eurobeat. Naturally I had to get to the bottom of it. After googling the lyrics to no avail I finally found a page listing songs from the show. It listed the song as "Every Little Bit - Jackie James".

I had never heard of this singer in eurobeat but a little more digging yielded a single copy of the song on Youtube and a link to a Japanese commercial music licensing website called Sakura Note. Seems they buy/produce/license music to be used mostly within the entertainment industry. I could not find much info on this Jackie James, other than a short blurb on Wikipedia stating that Jackie James is a songwriter who had written for the likes of Kylie Minogue, JLo, and more.

Anyways I just wanted to share this appearance of eurobeat in a mainstream show. The song is pretty catchy and reminiscent of 90s eurobeat.

Here's a link to the song on Youtube

And here's the link to the Japanese webpage where it came from originally.

I was pretty excited with this find and figured Eurobeat Prime would be the best place to share it. Been coming to this site for years and years but never made a forum account. Anyone know anything more about this song/singer? It's a bit of a mystery.

That song is actually been remixed by Peter Wilson, released back in 2012.

I've talked about this Australian singer, Peter Wilson on here before, who still enjoys making 80s eurobeat, as well as Italo-disco, 80's synth-pop, and space-synth. He has also been on this forum before many years ago and introduced himself to us, but I don't think anybody on here has taken him seriously, which is a shame since he has worked with the legendary Stock and Waterman of SAW fame!
You can see his posting on eurobeat prime where he comments his love for eurobeat right here: http://forum.eurobeat-prime.com/viewtop ... ter+wilson

He has been interviewed before on shows like Club80's with Will Reid and has commented on his love for the Italian eurobeat.
He has worked with the very famous SAW (Stock, Aitken, Waterman), who has produced for the likes of Kylie Minogue (often referred to as the Princess of Pop, for those who didn't grow up in the 80s or didn't know), Rick Astley, Donna Summer, Bananarama, Dead Or Alive etc.

He is working on a new album that will be out at the end of the year, with one of the producers with whom he will be collaborating being Italo-disco star Fred Ventura, as well as some Stock/Waterman-produced songs (yes, they are still producing 80's eurobeat! :P )

His latest album has a couple of songs that sound ALOT like "Every Little Bit":

If you love 80s eurobeat and italo or just 80's synth pop, and even though he is not exactly considered a mainstream artist yet (even though he did do every well on the Itunes chart on his last album!), he is as close as you will ever get into hearing something like this in today's music world, especially seeing a remix of his song out on this Nextflix show as mentioned by Mila :P

You are very welcome!

Since eurobeat in Japan isn't so popular anymore, current artists like Peter Wilson are the living soul of 80's eurobeat outside of Japan, produced by some of the god fathers of 80s eurobeat itself (sometimes referred to as just "hi-nrg" outside of Italy and Japan): Stock/Waterman, to which many Italian eurobeat producers have been greatly influenced by until today and pay their homage to.

As a true hi-nrg/eurobeat fan (Italian or British, or otherwise), and a general 80's synth music fan, I will continue to support him, and hope to see his live show planned for the end of the year.

When I use shazam with the song it's listed as Every Little thing (vox) by Josey James, someone somewhere must've got the name wrong. Also the video on youtube is pretty low quality. Gonna look and see if the song available to buy or stream anywhere else.

Just found an mp3 rip of the album this song comes from, it's so rare I can't seem to find it on discogs even, some album called 80's pop (x-series), released in 2008 from the info of these files. This guy called Ian Curnow must've written a lot of the songs cause he seems to appear a lot on this album.
Again I didn't expect to find anything on this at all, the album also includes the instrumental of this song as well.

That's a riff on Kylie Minogue's Better the Devil You Know, for sure. Someone's REALLY trying to be PWL :V
That's because Ian Cunrow was part of the PWL team. :P

Ian Cunrow has mixed and worked with this "Peter Wilson" artist which I have been raving about on here. 8) I wish he would come back to this forum one day and talk more about his eurobeat fascination.
