Your favorite decade of SEB?

150s. It's definitely nostalgic for me since it was around the time I got into the genre.

Probably the 180s. The tracks were just so speedy and unique.

Probably 180s and 190s. I didn't hate 230s too.

200s. That was the decade that got me into Eurobeat. "Internet Kills the Eurobeat Stars" on 202 was the song which caught me. However, I was listening to Eurobeat on the (online) radio several months before but wasn#t interested until then.

Mmm I have had a few decades I felt were way above the others.
First one is without doubt the 130s. Most of the albums during that period were just stellar.
Second would be 140s mainly due to the appearance of SCP, HI-NRG Attack and Vibration, which made the series feel a lot more lively.
And when we got way back, the 60s is one of the best decades for sure. So many memorable classics were made during that period and the switch to the 18 track format was definitely my preference. Was never a fan of the extended albums.

I have way too many favorites, it's really hard for me to pick a few that are way above the others, though I tend to prefer older eurobeat most of the time.

Chronologically what i consider my favorites:
20s - The influence of Hi-NRG and the Italo-Disco roots are still pretty noticiable on many tracks, but the sound was already developing towards the modern more "eurobeat-y" sound.
30s - The BPMs started to gradually become faster, leading to the eurobeat sound that we now know.
60s - Delta had a lot of great tracks during it's first year, TIME and A-Beat C weren't bad either.
140s - This time multiple new labels were introduced to the main SEB series, bringing a fresh touch to the 60 decades long three-label-ride.
230s - I'm not even sure why I liked this decade the most from the post-200s, a lot of tracks that just fit to my tastes I guess.

Hard to tell...
I really get interested into the physical CDs with 230s

I really liked the 170s, it was an epic period with the SCP songs. TIME have done catchy song. A-Beat C were powerful.
I think of Go Wild (Dusty), Shine (Nuage), Midnight Love (Neo), Dancing To The Moon (Marika), Futureland (Ace), Frontal Impact (Daniel), and more
It's also my favourite period for Roberto Tiranti with Ace Of Spades, Into The Daylight, Back To The Rising Sun, Dangerous Love, Glorious

I feel the 170-180s gave us so many anthems of the genre. Can Can World, Frontal Impact, Don't Let Me Be The First, Super Rider, Never-ending Night, and so many others.

So now I can ask, what's your least favorite? Mine would be the 210s.

The very 1st decade - the 001's - waaay too old and the only redeeming song for me is Farina's Gunfire. 😋
I really need to explore stuff from 1-30. I'm sure there's great stuff there.

Most likely the 090s, followed by the 080s. The former especially was just this consistent parade of quality, with every single album release being well-above average. It didn't always blow my socks off, but what I once considered the weaker albums (092, 094) have grown on me enormously, while the rest are as great as ever, 099 being the best of the bunch.

The 080s are nearly just as classic as the 090s. While volumes 082, 084, and 089 are somewhat mixed albeit still solid entries in the series, the others are some of the absolute best the series ever has to offer, perfectly capturing the raw punch, emotion, and occasional darkness that immortalized eurobeat in the first place. Thanks to every single track being a straight-up classic, 087 is my favourite Super Eurobeat album of all time, but 081 and 088 are very close behind, while 085 is also fantastic.

Flashforwarding a bit, I would say my top pick for a "modern" decade of Super Eurobeat, meaning one with more than just three labels, is the 160s. It loses to the 080s and 090s because TIME Records was in a rotten place, while Leonardi was also not totally bringing his A-game, but Saifam, SCP, and A-Beat C were all churning out more than enough material to bring life to most records of the decade. Super Eurobeat 162 is particularly awesome, but everything else has at least more than a few tracks that really stand the test of time.
