EUROBEAT: THE FORGOTTEN - Which non-SEB album series is your favorite?

Post by Wataru Akiyama » 07 Oct 2017, 02:12

Okay, okay. SUPER EUROBEAT is cool.

But do you remember JULIANA'S TOKYO? MAHARAJA NIGHT EURO FIRE? HIBIYA RADIO CITY? EUROBEAT FLASH! THAT'S EUROBEAT! EUROMACH! AEROBEAT EUROBEAT! GAZEN!! PARA PARA! LOVE PARA!

I feel like something special was lost when these separate collections stopped being popular and ceased to be made. These collections had so much life and so many nice little quirks! Aerobeat Eurobeat had all these cute little sound effects, Euromach was very happy and speedy and fun...I know about the Doujin eurobeat side collections and such, but we don't really see Offical Eurobeat side-album series being made these days, with the quirks of these old series?

Which do you like? Which is your favorite?

I like EUROBEAT FLASH!, EUROMACH!, and MAHARAJA NIGHT EURO FIRE most of all.

My favorite's Eurobeat Disney. I love Disney films, and I found most of the songs that were covered in this series to be very cute. :x

If we're talking about non-doujin eurobeat then it's clearly Euromach because every single release is a non-stop mix and I'm crazy about stuff like that :D Track selection mixing everything is great and as good as SEBs non-stops.

Going with doujin eurobeat then I'd say either Euro Baka Ichidai or Toho Eurobeat (I don't know of any other series going beyond 7-8 releases).
Probably Euro Baka Ichidai because TEB only had a single song in the last three releases that really caught my interest and that was Winter Fire by Rute.

I will say the パラパラオールスターズ pres. SUPER EUROBEAT
It's a small compilation of 11 albums with 5 tracks in each album.

They are all must listen.
If you want to start Eurobeat, you are better to start with this compilation.

Euromach hands down, no other series has anything on the machs. The entire series didn't have any bad albums at all, and while there are no entirely solid entries, it's still very high in production values. Some of the most memorable eurobeat tracks definitely came from the euromachs.

Euromach, definitely. Listening to them made me a Eurobeat fan (and made me wanna make Eurobeat too).

I prefer Eurobeat Flash over Euromach because it was mostly full versions, as opposed to nonstop snippets that left me desperate for extended releases several years down the line of my favourite tracks. However, EBF didn't get particularly awesome until 1996, when Hi-NRG Attack started really developing its identity and the other labels got more of a presence. The late 1990s were an especially glowing period for this spinoff series.

Eurobeat Flash all The way. This is the series that got me started in creating my own extendeds for the songs that appeared on the cds. Plus they added HRG Attack and Vibration before any other compilation.

Euromach! I wish Boss would do the SEB non-stops in Euromach style by pitching the tracks up a bit.

So far the strongest contenders for the best Forgotten Album Series are EUROMACH! and EUROBEAT FLASH! Keep it up, everyone! You're doing great!

Another little known series - TOKIO HOT NIGHTS. It was a really fun and quirky series. I particularly liked OYAJI IS ON out of that series.

Eurobeat Flash for sure. It really was the predecessor for Euromach.

Maharaja Hi-NRG REvolution / Euro Fire. Coz Extended Versions.
Yes, I don't care about your mixes w/New tracks in. That's still why I don't give a s*** about Euromach.

I haven't supposed that anyone will remind old school series:

Flea Records, Alabianca/Toshiba EMI Ltd.: Eurobeat Box Vol. 1-3 + various titled compilations + 2 CD albums = 10 CDs. Mostly A.Beat-C. works.

Pony Canyon: Eurobeat Fantasy Vol. 1-15, extended mixed series.

Victor: Best Disco Vol. 1- 11.

Those are new to me, all right! Well done!

Here's a good example of what I mean by the fun little sound effects in some of the MAHARAJA NIGHT EURO FIRE albums. I miss them and would like them back.
