Regarding Super Eurobeat 250

My God, I never wanted to be someone with this kind of news.

According to an Avex staff member, Super Eurobeat Vol. 250 will be the final entry in the series.
Here's the word from the Avex staff member (name and photo removed to protect their identity) :

A number of tweets from Japanese fans also seem to indicate the finality of 250, though on far less authoritative means. It does put into some perspective the meaning of "Road to Super Eurobeat Vol. 250".

I've been crying since leaving work.

Holy shit.

This...I'm still processing this. I'm gonna need a while to fully come to grips with it.

But a small part of me always knew this was going to happen. There were a lot of signs...the closure of the big-name studios, famous artists leaving...

I want to say that maybe a new series is on the horizon, that this is just the passing of the torch, but...

This is really grim. I didn't want to hear this.

God DAMN you, 2017. You just HAD to kick us in the ass a little more, didn't you?\

Thank you so much for bringing us the news, even if it is awful. I am so sorry you had to deal with this.

Wow :( They better go out big and not just a 2-disc mix of Jealousy, Sunday, Dancer, Money Go, & Yesterday. At least do a 4-disc set: 1 Disc 90s, 2 Discs 2000s, 1 disc Present.

Definitely a piece of music legacy. It seems ZXY will carry the Italo sound now with thier Italo Disco New Generation series, which feature writers that are also part of SEB. Who knows, maybe this series will follow the same progression of SEB and tracks will get begin to get faster, or SEB artists will float to the series. This is such unwanted news.

Oh what a sad day, hopefully something else will emerge from the ashes of SEB then.
Maybe we will have a new series to have a fresh start with new artists, let's see what the future brings us.

Still hoping that it's just fake to make people buy it even more.

This is absolutely devastating to say the least.
I wonder what will happen with I like to call "the drawer of unreleased tracks". I hope that Avex releases the right to those and let the labels just release these on their own on music download platforms.

And not like one bad new doesn't come with another, I heard today that "Apple is 'on schedule' to phase out iTunes Store to Apple Music by 2019"; effectively killing chances to buy your digital SEB gradually once it's over.

The torch will be carried by doujin artists in Japan most likely.

It’s quite possible that labels who intend to keep making music, could easily publish independently online. I could see SCP, GGM, SS, and other making their own compilation together to release.

This is so sad to hear if true :( I just hope that we'll still get new material from labels in one way or another.

I know that SEB isn't all there is to eurobeat but this really feels like death to eurobeat.

Not a surprise for me because I already got some hints from my label partners (really just hints but I could make my conclusions).
So what can I say? Well, I'm happy that I made it on SEB at least once because I think even though I'll continue as an independent artist it is a great honour to be able to name the official SEB series as a reference. Even though it's not a legally protected term, it kinda gives you the right to call yourself a real Eurobeat artist if you know what I mean. :D Really, I had some disrespectful comments before and after my appearance on SEB, there are still people who dislike my songs personally but still behave in a very respectful way, there certainly is a difference now.

A thing that would interest me is if some of the labels will still continue as “indie” artists now. This would open new opportunities for example for collaborations that weren't possible before.

Seriously? !?! I still need to buy the a lot of Eurobeat albums... (Dave Rodgers 1-3, Lolita 1-2, Karen, Norma Sheffield, Hi-NRG Attack Euromach 1-2, Vicky Vale, Cherry, all Hi-NRG Attack albums and EP, all LED Records Eurobeat albums, and more...)

I understood by the translation the compilation will not be stopped if there's still eurobeat

Reading the guy's facebook messages again and again... there's something that doesn't sit well with me.
xiao wrote: 13 Dec 2017, 09:55 If the bi-monthly release schedule continues, SEB 250 will drop in August 2018.
This. If Avex suddenly changes to monthly releases, 250 would come in April. That's stretching the definition of "early"; April is Q2 and you would think that "early" is Q1. So, if the bi-monthly releases continue, I see this as a contradiction. August is way past mid-year; almost the last third of the year even. And the Japanese guy seems to have a very good grasp of English and making this mistake seems weird.

Also, please remember guys: SEB 200 brought such rumors too. There was no eurobeat for a whole year in 2012 and the feelings were definitely strong then too.

EDIT

http://avex.jp/eurobeat/discography/det ... id=1015415
Either Avex wants to hide the truth, downplay the truth or they know already what the staff is saying internally and wanted to say this:
ROAD TO SUPER EUROBEAT VOL.250
ネ申曲降臨!最後の新譜収録盤!
SEBの進化は止まらない!そこにユーロがある限り!!
Arrival of fantastic songs! Latest compilation of new songs!
The progress of SEB will not stop! As long as there is euro!

Multiple producers have commented on FB that it is indeed true that 250 is going to be the final album.
