Agefarre 2018 (Japan Eurobeat concert)

Post by Tiger » 28 Jul 2018, 05:26

2018/10/7

Dave Rodgers was announced to perform.

Interesting because he hasn't performed in Japan for a very long time.

Personally I thought about going but I went last year and it was too crowded for such a small space. No tall video screens either so you can see. Because of this, I don't think I will go this year.

If it was crowded last year with who was it? Domino and... Lolita? Don't remember. But, anyway, if for those 2 it was crowded, with Dave, it's going to be 3 times the capacity.

I wonder if Nuage, Domino, and/or Kaioh are going?

It'd be really cool to see Kaioh perform with a live band at Maharaja somehow ~ and Nuage on stage again ♪

I'd buy a physical Blu-ray of that in an instance!

Mmmm, now that my personal life runs more on its own, I would definitely love to go this year! I will have to brush up a bit on my Japanese, but it will be a truly special experience to finally attend a eurobeat concert in my life! :!:

Guys, remember what the other artist sung the years prior. Was there any obscure stuff? No. It was all the most mainstream tracks for each artists. If you guys expect stuff from the "The Big Brother" or "Aleph" or any other aliases, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Imo, from that list, I'd change "California Dreaming" for "The Final Countdown" or "Disco Fire" or "Kingdom of Rock". All songs will be the first and second riff with only one verse, bridge and chorus. AND YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE IT.

Yes, Domino & Lolita / Go Go Girls. I remember they tried to market it as Go Go Girls though but I called them out several times for being incorrect since some Go Go Girls has Annerley in it.

My bet is on :
Deja Vu, Get Wild, Space Boy, The Race Is Over, Beat Of The Rising Sun 2018 (and/or) Kingdom Comes (remember Ace & Pamsy with Inside My Soul ?)

The fact Maurizio De Jorio not only sung with his alias Niko, I'll also bet on Wild Reputation (his recent publication can be a hint)

Other issues I had with the Agefarre event last year were that there was no seating for 7-8 hours, the "concert" was spaced out over many hours, and no times were given when they would appear on stage except 15 minute warnings if I recall correctly. There are no assigned seats so the front is first-come first-serve. People VERY often pushing and rude. Also, dealing with drunk people and spilled drinks on the floor.

The smaller event at Maharaja Roppongi was much nicer with less people but I hated that they didn't actually bring them out to the very end of the event with no opportunity to talk beforehand. It's like they guarded them the whole night.

Tiger, you are really not adjusted for the club scene ahahah Seating isn't a thing, it's a place to get drunk as fuck and dance around, too many people to accommodate for seating.

It's not really a concert, everyones just cramming into the "Island" room and dancing and havin a good time. I went the year for the Parapara Allstars performance cause i was living in Japan at the time.

Agefarre is 5 stages of majority Trance. Buchiage, Cyber, Current, etc. They're having Rank 1 perform this year and i'm SHOOK over it. I really wish i could go this time around.
Honestly majority of the event isn't eurobeat, it's JUST the small island stage so it's get crammed in there for performances. But the whole ass event is crowded to hell, once you're in a zone, good luck getting out ahahah. It's a mad house just like any other massive club event. Get ready to deal with some assery

That being said, people can smoke inside, it's a 5 stages. Check out the official website at http://agefarre.com/ for full line up of everything. It's honestly an insanely amazing event despite what Tiger says, it's exactly what a massive club is like. Thousands of people crammed in a massive area, 3 outdoor stages all for trance, and one side room for Euro. Everyone is dancing the obscure trance routines that never made it to DVDs, so it's a great space to learn, talk to people, and circles always end up starting. Especially when the old school guys come in for John Robinson's Julianas style set. It's really a sight to behold with like 4 generations of clubbers in one place. 10/10 recommend.

If you want to get a decent visual on what it's like, i made videos
