Second eurobeat single: Change My World

Post by Akira » 19 Sep 2015, 10:06

Hi guys! I'm back again with a second eurobeat single. This time it's called change my world and it's a mixture of eurobeat with some disco/funk sounds and uplifting melodies. Change My World is also a key track in our upcoming album together, LILITH.

Anyway, guys, I really hope you like it. I would be very, very grateful also if you could provide some constructive feedback :) Thank you!!

This sounds like eurobeat-meets-disco. I like the concept, but there are some conflicting elements (parts that work well for disco, but not for eurobeat).

To make the following comments more clear, I'm listening to this with a focus on eurobeat. I think the production and arrangement leave it sounding a little empty for a eurobeat track. The drums lack drive and punch. Reverb-gating the toms and putting the cymbals higher in the mix would help. The snare might work for disco, but eurobeat tends to put emphasis on the off-beat between each kick (usually with a hi-hat). I know it doesn't mean you can't use a snare on beats 2 and 4, but you might be able to use a more suitable snare sound.

The songwriting is quite good for this eurobeat/disco fusion. The bass and guitar are more disco than eurobeat, but still work well. I think the chorus needs a little something extra in the arrangement and/or production to distinguish itself more from the verse and bridge (it's probably fine as it stands for disco, but probably not for eurobeat!)

The breakdown is rather different to the rest of the track, and doesn't really sound like either disco or eurobeat. It sounds a little out of place. I would also introduce some rhythmic accompaniment before going back into the chorus (hi-hats, for example). I'd also appreciate a bit more of a build up to the chorus.

The sabi is fine, but only half of the chorus uses the synth at all. The synth counter melody/chords to the vocals works well, but I really think it should be present through the whole chorus.

Hopefully this makes some kind of sense to you :)
