I was just reading through this old thread and found it interesting (and somewhat comforting) that there are some patterns in our music tastes where Eurobeat isn't concerned. The Eurodance trend is one that I can relate to. I'm into all kinds of continental music, particularly from the east, and particularly that of a dance/electronic nature. Stuff like turbo-folk and Slavic Eurodance is really interesting. Scandipop is great too though, especially the classics: Aqua, Toy-Box, SMiLE.dk, Caramell, Alcazar etc.

My favourite artist of all is Kate Bush- her music completely resonates with me on a higher almost spiritual level, I effing love her music so damn much
Some of my other favourites: Prince, Michael Cretu, New Order, Empire of the Sun, Nelly Furtado, Fleetwood Mac, Orbital, Underworld, VNV Nation, Janet Jackson, The Police, Bjork, Miguel Pimentel. I also have a thing for kpop... big fan of Shinee and SNSD.

I went through a bunch of K-pop, both on the male and female side and I can mostly agree, some were enjoyable and some were downright uninspired. The male side especially had this problem, the singing/rapping and the cool-boy image is lame as hell.
Tell me about it, I live in both Japan and Taiwan and the entire asian continent has been overrun by K-pop and koreaboos since 2007. Admittedly some of their songs are rather catchy but it's visuals and sex appeal over music and I love (the girls)/hate that. I'd much rather listen to indie producers (ahem, eurobeat) where you can hear actual effort being put in and creative juices flow most than cookie cutter mainstream fodder to rot the brains of the masses.
Here’s some stuff I’ve been listening to a lot lately:
This is hands-down my favorite band. Although their latest few albums haven’t been that great, they have enough of a back-catalog with amazing songs where I can still consider them my all-time favorite.
I’ve been listening to Walton for a couple of years now. I’m digging a lot of the UK Bass I’ve been exploring. This artist has some chill tracks, some Asian inspired tracks, and some heavy stuff.
Nickatina is still my favorite hip-hop artist. I don’t keep up with his music much anymore, but I have enjoyed some of the newer stuff I’ve heard. This one’s a bit older.
I’ve been checking out some Punk Rock here and there and found this band. I like them because a lot of their songs are tongue-in-cheek and they’re pretty melodic. I got to see them live recently. By the way, this track is totally satirical. I’m pretty sure that the band is totally LGBT friendly.
This is a somewhat newer Hardcore Punk band that I’ve enjoyed. Their music is more lighthearted than most Hardcore Pink. Actually, their music does stray from the genre a bit, but they’re still part of the scene.
Riki Dan is a Grime MC. He doesn’t have a large amount of solo work, but lately he has been doing songs with certain producers and the tracks are all very heavy and dark. It’s exactly what I love. This is one of them.
Rob Mayth is my favorite Euro-Trance/Hands Up artist. I was big into him a number of years back. I still listen to his music whenever it comes on in my car

Ugh, I would be so down to go to that. But I live in the US and just started a new job. I have no vacation time at the moment, unfortunately.
