Very First Anime

Post by Chico Chico » 06 Aug 2004, 22:48

So what's an anime discussion , without this question? So what was the very first anime that you saw?

I'd have to say the first anime I saw (without knowing it) was Japan's version of "Grimms Fairy Tales"... I suppose my offical first anime was Sailor Moon. *sigh* How I adore that show!

:D

My very first anime was also Sailor Moon. Of course pre the time before I even acknowledged the whole anime concept I saw Kimurage Orange Road, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, Tao Tao and other series that had been dubbed into Finnish.

I remember Samuri Pizza Cats! I used to like watch it all the time! I was quite sad when they took it off the air... What a catchy theme song!

"Who do you call when you want some pepperoni? SAMURI PIZZA CATS!"

I got so obbsessed with Sailor Moon, that I have like all the Japanese episodes on tape dubbed before they were even syndicated in the USA... It was tough to find em, but so well worth it!

Though my memory may not be clear, I believe my first anime was the lesser known series Sherlock Hound. How I came to remember seeing that was while I was browsing around a Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki Hayao fansite.
It may've been either that or Maple Town. (Cool points to anyone who remembers that one! *=D*)

My very first anime is Card Captor Sakura. I was lucky enough to get to watch the french translation, in wich they keeped all the original japanese soundtrack and storylines, including all the parts about some unusual love stories that have been cut by nelvana in the totally wasted american version. The only anime i got interest in since CCS is Initial D, but now my boyfriend got me interested in Love Hina. I watched the first like 4 episodes and the show looks really cool, i have to see more :P
