A rant and a look back to EP's past + New Battle!

The webmaster's logbook, day 1045

Another day... time goes by but not much changes around here. Eurobeat Prime has existed now for nearly 4 full years. When looking back to those years and how much has actually happened it feels somewhat strange that the site can actually be that old.

The site started originally from one person's boredom and fanatism for a music genre he felt wasn't getting enough publicity. The original dream might've been just to make a small site with info and a handy database that me and a few friends might find useful. Now when looking at the size of the site and how much time and effort it has been given it feels slightly unreal to think of the actual reality that Eurobeat Prime is.

The site is no longer a one man's push forward. I've been lucky enough to find people who have felt the same desire to help this genre become more known. With help from various professionals and also encouraging speeches from friends we've made it this far. I have to address this logbook entry as a thank you to the people who've helped me a lot to get Eurobeat Prime this far.
Thank you, you know who you are.

I was just thinking about how the site has gone through several metamorphoses and how it seems to have been gaining more and more popularity by time. Something I honestly didn't really expect to be happening in the end, but I guess hard work does pay off eventually. My initial thought when I started typing this entry was that with nearly 4 full years of existance, the site has had 4 completely different layouts and me being the never satisfied guy I am, feel like it might be yet again a time to do some changes around the site.

I think the site does deserve some extra attention as I've been ignoring it for so long that some kind of a cheer up to the current form might be of help. I just am sort of uninspired and don't know what would really be needed as of now. Graphics are the thing that's always the easiest to change, but maybe the content would be more welcome.

This logbook entry might in reality hold no kind of actual content, but I still felt I should be writing it in. Eurobeat Prime has managed to live for so many years and I still love the music so much that I feel the urge to somehow make it more visible to the public. I just can't really think of the proper way to do it. Eurobeat has been my passion for years and I believe it will also stay like that for quite a while if the labels keep pushing forward with high quality material.

How could Eurobeat Prime and fans in general show a good tribute to the eurobeat labels that keep cheering up us day after day? What would be a proper way of showing how grateful we fans are? What'd be big enough of a Thank You? Eurobeat Prime is an oasis for fans to gather and show their love for the musicians, but I still feel we could do better...

While I'm left wondering about this question and trying to brainstorm something new, I'll post a small glimpse back to how Eurobeat Prime looked in the past~

Layout v. 0.1. From ~ October 2003 to June 2004.
Layout v. 1.0. From ~ May 2004 to November 2004.
Layout v. 2.0. From ~ November 2004 to March 2006.
Layout v. 3.0. From ~ March 2006 to ?.

As an extra, the next step further into the past of Eurobeat is made when the next Best of Beats is launched.

Super Eurobeat 90's is what we're having this time around. Lots of old classics featured in this tournament such as: Leila - Love Me Tender, Oda - Shy Gun, Ika - Go Godzilla Go & more

To be honest I actually first started viewing forums on Live music site. Then Krazee Cheeto's Eurobeat Evolution. I do not recall how I came across this web page, but remember being drawn in by your review section. I spent one whole day viewing that whole section. That quickly prompt me into joining....and have bee a regular ever since. All Eurobeat information is updated and most important...It's not in Japanese! :D
Like I said this site has alot to offer old and new Eurobeat fans alike. I also enjoy the Eurobeat battles and it is allways a pleasure when composers like Newfield, Festari. Rimonti ect... join on to your forum.
I guess I'm saying that this is a great site all around.

P.S. I still think someday you will be converted to a TIME records slave like me :D

Heh good thing you reminded me about the Battle, I was supposed to put that up in the post originally as well but somehow forgot while being confused about what to do with the site.
And heh I dunno about Time, I still say they were totally awesome pre '99 and such, but after that it did go down a notch. If they got a few of their old vocalists back I'd probably find them more appealing as well. Would love to see a revival of Ika big time.

XD

I remember discovering this site on the old server cause it was the only one with the lyrics to People Come On.

Here's to another four years, and more!

Gosh.. that's a pretty long time! Now if only we [You, Me, Jordan] had more time to chat together, it might be Eurobeat-prime 4.0 in celebration... heheheh... Remember the idea I was playing with last time we talked?
