At what number did you start following the SEB series?

Everything that is eurobeat can be discussed here.

163 was the first one I listened to as soon as it came out.

Interestingly enough, despite only getting into eurobeat recently, I prefer the older stuff. 8)

Well sure most of us discovered Eurobeat in the last 7 years however that's a whole lot of years to play catch up and learn even more

I personally started listening to Eurobeat regularly (i.e. whatever random songs I could find) in 2002 mostly due to the fact that's when I started to para. My first SEB album was 147 and I started following the series regularly from there. However I only started to buy the series regularly with SEB 160, before then I had random CDs purchased.

The only thing in Eurobeat that I have knowledge about is Domino... I am horrible at pointing out which song comes from which label unless it's completely obvious (like Nuage = ABeatC, Ace = SCP etc)... ask Panu, I thought Stephy Martini / My Emotions was a Time song for the longest... well, time. I started listening around SEB 148-ish, roughly.
Didn't start really getting 'into it' until SEB 155, though.

I wonder if many of you were first introduced to Eurobeat through vinyl?

My first contact with Eurobeat seems to be the orginal vinyl of 'Fire on the moon'. At that time nobody everheard of Eurobeat. Anyway those where great times, in the middle of the week to the recordshop to look at the fax with the 'upcoming' new trax. Just checking TRD or MEM for instance. And then each monday the final delivery of the new material :)
It did bough vinyls from 1987 till 1991. Then I stopped.
After a couple years I discovered Eurobeat via 'the great' Hiroshi Ide (http://www.italodiscoworld.com/).
I have several SEB's but thanks to my Japanise friend I follow the serie since volume 128.
And still with lots of pleasure!

140 was the first full album I'd heard. I haven't really been into it as much as most of the people here, as I've never found the really old songs that weren't on SEBs at all that turn up on a lot of people's lists, and haven't had much exposure outside of SEB, period.

Still, the 140s probably hold the fondest memories to me (Criminal Fire, I've Got to Go, The Fire and the Rain...), just because they were my earliest...

It was in 2000 when a friend of mine talked to me about music called Eurobeat which he seemed to like very much. He was talking about it in such a hyped way that I really had to try it out myself.

Via via, I got my hands on SEB 039 (Yeah, a real classic to start with). And it was love at first sight (hearing actually :P). Especially 'Speak in English' totally 'wowed' me. And I still adore that song, even after listening to it sooooo many many times.

The next album, and first newly one, I bought was Euromach 03. From that album on I kept buying Eurobeat music on regular base. And every now and then, when I had the chance, I also bought one of the older SEB's.

So it was SEB 039 that got me into Eurobeat.

Sorry for the bump, but I wanted to share to this discussion, not having done so already.

I got into eurobeat and immediately began following the series with Super Eurobeat 172 (a strong pick). I was very disappointed to discover that Saifam had been removed (since they were the most prominant reason that attracted me to the series), but I still loved it with a passion and eurobeat became my favorite music in no time at all.

Super Eurobeat were close to 100 if I don´t get it wrong. I think it was in the beginning of this century. (End of year 2000)
But it was first when the album reach 130 i could find any albums.
Since 140 I have followed the evelution very close.
