Vol.234 seems to be the best album since 221. It would be perfect without this.

Guardian Angels-Oceania

Oceannia had made bad impression to me..... :-x

Maybe because of the hyped chipmunkey vocals? To me they annoyingly sound like a vocaloid like Hatsune Miku...

This track has amazingly moved to the top for me! First off, Futura deserves some props! The drumbeat is nice and heavy in this track! Plus, she's not afraid to work with a bass line either. The production is solid on this track, especially during the riff. So what if the vocals are chipmunky? You don't listen to Eurobeat to hear what you can on the radio. Take a listen to past Eurobeat...it's flooded with chipmunky vocals.

My copy still didn't arrive here. >< I only listened to the (un)official trailers yet and wasn't impressed... like usual. But the album seems to be pretty good. I lost all my expactations because 231 - 233 were really weak albums in my opinion.

The Oceania tracks isn't the best track in the world but it's not the worst either.

I'm going to make a quick review of the compilation once I'm settled in after what happened at the end of May.

From what I've seen until now… people either loved that track or hated it. And it's expected hahahahahahaha
To me, the first 2 seconds made me want to skip the hell out of this song, even so I forced myself to listen and - oh wait, no - instrumental is at some decent level… too bad there's no official instrumental version out there

To me, her "Tokyo"'s seem to be out of beat. I hate the short intro, but the rest, I'm good.

SEB fans became now or maybe left many not asian people, so don't forget, that accepted by Avex Trax Oceania's voice etc., won't be cool for you, if it's 100 % japanese music. Was some time, when the main word in Eurobeat was "fire" in dozens combinations in titles. Of course it was absurdity, but not for japanese...

I feel like IE 6.

My copy arrived today. Until now, the album played three times in background. It's a great album but I'll give it an intensive listen the next days. I think I'll write a review for this SEB since the good songs are motivating me after three not-so-good SEBs in a row.

Internet Explorer 6 succesfully loaded a review!
If there are any double-letters where they shouldn't be, I have overseen them. I wrote the review while sitting in a tight bus on a travel.

Review time! My first review after... eight months? 234 motivated me again to write one since 231 to 233 were pretty low-level for me.

01 Ken Martin - Fire In The Night - 100%
Let's begin with a song which was already available for purchase. I liked the song when it was released, now I love it. It's exactly what I want to hear of 3B: Catchy melody, a brillant singer and a wonderful background chorus. I can't complain about anything.

02 Lolita - Raining Love - 40%
After a great start, we get the probably most awaited song of the community. To be honest, I'm no Lolita fan. Her songs didn't impress. I like some of her songs but the main part of them has something which bothers me: Lolita's high voice. This isn't that bad but when she begins to sing like she's screaming, the song annoys me. So does this one. Anyway, I like the song in general, an instrumental would be played over and over again.

03 Manuel - Warriors On The Road - 55%
Manuel is someone who is a master of screaming. When he does it in his songs, it actually sounds good. If I were a girl, I'd probably be a wet fangirl of him... Forget my last sentence.
As said, Manuel impresses with a powerful voice. Sadly, the song doesn't get stuck in my head. The melody is just okay for me, nothing more.

04 ACE - Heavensent - 100%
SCP did it again. It's nice to see at least one label which is experimenting with Eurobeat and other genres. The Dubstep parts are amazing! I want more of it! Anyway, ACE is one of my favorite singers and he doesn't disappoint. His great voice combined with a catchy melody and Dubstep becomes a great song!
Now I want EurobeatXDrum'n'Bass. SCP, make it happen!

05 ROberta - Like A Din Don - 30%
SinclaireStyle produced many hits in the last almost three years. My expectations on this one were high but this song seems to become the first SS song which I skip everytime. It's the typical SS sound, so I can't complain about the melody. Also I do love longer songs which break the 5 minutes mark. But it's the same problem as above - the song doesn't get stuck into my head. In addition to that, songs with words like "Boom" in their title ooze creativity...

06 J-Stark - Spider Queen - 90%
The first ~35 seconds of the intro are lame and then: pure awesomeness. A catchy melody begins. An amazing voice joins the song and the refrain stays in my head with its easy-to-sing-along lyrics. This is one of Deltas better productions currently.

07 Jeff Driller - Twister - 85%
A typical HRG song. After the nice intro comes a great singer. But I must admit, most HRG songs are for me only good if the melody is great. The singer "just" gives bonus points. But this time, it works well. Twister's melody isn't perfect but I really like it. It's at least no song I'd skip.

08 Norma Sheffield - Ony My Way - 5%
Big Nope #1 on this CD. Norma's voice is an instant-killer for me. At least, the song in general isn't as annoying as her recent songs.

09 David Dima - Insomnia - 85%
David Dima is back with an aggressive Dima-like song. The intro gives many expectations. And what can I say? David fulfills them. Maybe we'll get more songs like this one in the future. I'd be happy.

10 Oceania - Guardian Angels - 0%
Big Nope #2 on this CD. Oceania's voice is an instant-killer for me. At least... No, the song is annoying as fu**. I know some of you were surprised by this song and so I was excited to listen to it. But it's a typical Oceania song to me. And I hate them.

11 Dolly Pop - Girl In The Night - 200%
A piano intro! Instant love! A catchy chorus! Love! I wanna throw all my love on Dolly Pop. I wanna marry her just because of this song. She shall become my Girl In The Night.

12 Dee Dee - Stay Together - 25%
And after marrying her, I want to Stay Together with her. Oh, this is already the next song? This seems like a male version of Oceania: Dima's voice pitched until it doesn't sound good anymore. But it isn't as annoying as her... That's good, I guess. I like the melody, but that's everything I like about this song...

13 Irene - Way Across The Sky - 50%
This is a typical SCP song without experiments. It's nice, not annoying, the melody average...

14 Lou Master - Firebird - 50%
Same here. I can't say much about it, it's average for me.

15 Chai - Fire Wire - 30%
SS had some bad luck impressing me this time. Fire Wire is a completely forgettable and skippable song for me. I hope they put better songs on 236...

That was it. Myy first review after so much time. And it's un-constructive as hell... means: as usual.
Because of the some really, really good songs, this album became one of the great albums for me. I only wish, avex would stop putting Oceania or Norma Sheffield songs on SEB.

Favorites:
Dolly Pop - Girl In The Night
Ken Martin - Fire In The Night
ACE - Heavensent

Comments: The cover girl is damn beautiful. I just wanted to say that. This stock photo girl shall be the Girl In The Night and I'm happy forever.

Nice review. 200% yeah! nice, but you made me jealous. As long as you keep letting her sing Eurobeat; everything shall be ok.

That's probably because I love Eurobeat that much that only the music without the singer always sounds good to me.
But why did I made you jealous?
