News from more than one producer indicate that SEB will continue in some form. Deals have been reached that benefit both parties and Gon-S returns as director of SEB.

Confirmed labels:

Yay!! SEB's FB page posted a video clip with Sandro and Domino...hopefully they signed on as well, though Domino hasn't done anything for SEB since what, 233?

I do hope the eurobeat industry continues to at least be loose enough that it's a little more accessible to international listeners and that there's still room for fresh new ideas to thrive, as opposed to Avex continuing to stifle the labels' creative direction and continuing to be stuck in 1998 as opposed to adapting more to the digital age.

I'm so happy about that.Plus I think that worldwide online distribution would be the best for Eurobeat because I'm from Europe and I would love to buy new music much easier like never before :D

Will we see the return of 160+ bpm tracks? Or will Boss still hold that stipulation over them?

I’ve never heard of that stipulation before. Where did you hear this from?

Observations of track BPMs. After Vol.223, the amount of anything 160 bpm or higher drastically decreases. It may not have been an official stipulation, but you can tell something was up when the artists who usually produced tracks around these tempos suddenly stopped.

Anything over 160 BPM is very seldomly done. Sure, before the 190s, they were a little bit more common but they were still rare. However, after the 190s, I think there's something like 6 or 7 songs at 160 BPM or over.

Agreed. I would venture to say that the majority of eurobeat since 2000 lies in the 145-160 BPM range. I was having a hard time thinking of alot of songs that go past that and those would typically be with HI-NRG ATTACK. I think people getting really hung up on BPM and track length wayyyyyyy tooooooo much.

What a fantastic news!
I hope the new deal allows the labes to publish their music on their own, maybe with a month delay or something like that.

Regarding Gon-S, if the SEB Edit format would come back, I'd be happy. Even though I was a fan of extended SEBs, it evolved into a "half the music is SEB edit but we call it extended"... I'd prefer just buying extended singles and having more variety on SEB.

But however SEB 251 will look like, I will be happy anyway.

I was told producers were asked to slow down BPMs. If Avex does not license certain tracks they’re free to publish themselves.

Based on this post by Gabrielli, SEB itself will probably end at 250. However, another project will start in 2019; probably a new compilation whith a brand new branding. What I understand from this is that Avex decided that the brand "Super Eurobeat" is dead but did not want to kill off Eurobeat entirely. So, they'll just start something new. All labels are on board at least and, like Gabrielli said, he'll be free to publish the music on his own too. I don't know if that's true for all labels though...
