Maybe that's why I like both. I thought that the first Crystal song was 'Tonite my heart' by Leonardi and not by Gelmetti?

Here's my review for 167~ I decided to go with the "Like, Dislike, No Opinion" ruleset for this review as the 1 out of 5/10 scale review gets to be a bit harsh, and doesn't accurately portray my opinions/feelings of the music. :) (No Opinion raitings will not have any comments attached to them - because no opinion pretty much means I have nothing to say about it. XD)

1. Kevin & Cherry - Chemical Love
Like

From hearing the preview of this song on the Avex website, I was struck by it's fast and speedy sound - that drew me to the song a lot, and had high expectations for it. Now that I've heard the full version, I'm glad I have! It's a great, upbeat song with a unique sound to it before the chrous that I quite enjoy. This song is a great start to the album!

2. Christine - Yeah!
Like

I was addicted to the Hioni Team cover of this song, so I was also glad this made it to the album (it's about time!) The only gripe I have with this song is that it seems a bit too slow for what I'd expect it to have been. Maybe the Hioni Team's cover is faster? I didn't really compare the two to see. Other than the speed of the song, I really enjoyed it!

3. Jilly - Ding A Ling 2006
Like

It was a given that I would like this song, because the original version of the song is a song I've enjoyed for a long time. It's nice to hear this song as a new 'sound' - it makes it fresh and more pleasant to listen to. As a 200x remix, it isn't the best done (Love Is Danger is my personal favorite out of all the 200x mixes) but it's still great!

4. Manuel - Sun In The Rain
Like

Like all of Manuel's songs, this one is full of life, and excellent vocals! This song is especially great - I love the chorus the most. "sunintherainblblblblb" XD I love that. Overall, a great song - and a nice addition to the collection of 'Manuel' music. :)

5. The Bombers - Disco Energy
Like

A high energy song that any BBB lover would drool over! I'm starting to run out of different ways to say I like the song, so I will just say that I like it. XD

6. Lolita - Listen To My Heart
Dislike

I expect a lot from a song with 'Lolita' tagged to it, and unfortunately this song was a huge disappointment. It's just a generic Eurobeat song that doesn't really have much originality or uniqueness to me. This is a track I would skip in a heartbeat, which is quite unfortunate.

7. 70' Queens feat. Annalise & Virginelle - Get Up And Move It
Like

This song is tagged as my favorite from the whole album. I love the disco feel and sound to it a lot! It's catchy, and the chrous - like a lot of the songs on 167 - is just so awesome. "And let the rhythm take you awaAAAAAYY AAAAY AAAY" XD It's great! I love it!

8. Joe D. Toaster - Sex Gun
No Opinion

9. Pamsy - Walkin' In The Shadows
Like

Wow. This song is beautiful. This song has to be my current favorite from Pamsy - which is very surprising because Dancin' Alone has always been my top favorite of hers for the longest time! Again, the chrous of this song is my favorite part - her voice is just at her best in this song - Thank you SCP for making it! XD

10. Leo - Don't You Break My Heart Tonight
Dislike

I don't have much to say about this song. It's a song I'd skip, I don't enjoy it.

11. Karen - Lost In The World
Like

Though not the best Karen song by far, it's still a great track! I read from someone on here that the song seems unfinished, and I quite agree with that - but besides that I still think it's a quality track. I love Karen's voice and I'm always looking forward to any new music from her. :)

12. Pricilla - Heart And Go
Dislike

Again, I don't have much to say about the songs I dislike - it's another song I'd skip. It's alright, definately not the best from Delta, unfortunately.

13. Susy - Give Me Another Chance
Like

This is a weird song. She wants to dance, and have someone give her confidence? haha... it's silly, and I like it because of that. :)

14. Idol - Idol
No opinion

15. Madison - Remind Me To Forget
Dislike

Sorry - it has to be said: Remind Me To Forget about this song! XD

16. Mad Cow & etc. etc. etc. - Harajuku Girl
Dislike

Don't get me wrong - as bad as it sounds me tagging this song as a 'dislike' - I think it's amazing (and a definate good thing) that Hi-NRG can produce songs like this continuously, with the same 'theme,' same sound... it's crazy! Unfortuantely, this one wasn't to my liking, but there have been these 'similar' sounding songs that have been released in the past that I've greatly enjoyed, and I bet (and hope) there will be more to come!

17. Dave & Nuage - Love Me Or Leave Me
Like

First I must say, this song wasn't nearly as good as Don't Make Me Cry, and the chrous of this song was hugely predictable - but I love how Dave & Nuage sound in that part of the song... it's really nice!

18. GO2 - Music Come On!
Like

This song... is too slow! Haha, it's not what I expected from "GO2" - it's pretty queer, but still really funky and fun to listen to. It's not the best from them, but this song is definately up there!!!

5 Dislike
2 No Opinion

"Like" greatly outweighs the Dislikes and No Opinions, so I definately give this album the thumbs up! It was a great album to listen to, and I'm glad I bought it! I would highly recommend it :)

Top 5 Songs:
1. 70' Queens feat. Annalise & Virginelle - Get Up And Move It
2. Kevin & Cherry - Chemical Love
3. Jilly - Ding A Ling 2006
4. Pamsy - Walkin' In The Shadows
5. Manuel - Sun In The Rain

"Nice Try" Catagory:
1. Mad Cow & etc. etc. etc. - Harajuku Girl
2. Lolita - Listen To My Heart
3. Leo - Don't You Break My Heart Tonight
4. Pricilla - Heart And Go
5. Madison - Remind Me To Forget

There you have it! :)

i don't know, was it? I guess that's the only one I haven't heard, and the other 3 are Gelmetti productions.

Nice review, Nine. I didn't think it'd be very descriptive with a simple like/dislike system, but it was really informative. Glad to see someone else loves "Get Up and Move It".

I love that third melo!! It gives the song such build-up, releasing it all in the sabi! It's so climactic, funky and positive!

Disco power, baby!

8) All opinions are important. Yours has given us the positivity of SCP and ABeatC. Definatly thier styles are somewhat similiar. My concern is that you like Saifam, but dislike HRG and thier sound is so similiar in Vocals, speed and use of instruments  ...and I won't even get into it with you about TIME. Everyone knows they are my favs :D

Geee. I thought my reviews were short? :D

After finally receiving it and listening to it, suprisingly enough (to me at least) Idol is my favortie track off the album. Overall, a pretty good SEB, comes right after 164 IMO.

Now that's what I'm taliking about :D

Saifam is my favorite label, and HRG is my least favorite. :)

Saifam's sound is a lot smoother, whereas HRG is quite brash and out-there, which would probably put some people off. I don't believe you can make a truly fair comparison between the two however, as they have completely different tones and textures (with HRG sounding more retro and Saifam going for the more well-rounded stereo sound)

This album is actually quite ok. I don't really see why this should be the worst album ever... It's not the best album ever, and certanly not the best in the SEB16x series. That would be SEB166! *Hmm, Black Ufo, Burnig Highway, Shock Out... etc. etc.

Only thing I'm concerned about is Hi-NRG Attack. The songs are getting a bit old on the hearing. I really like Hi-NRG, don't get me wrong here, but there isn't any variation anymore. It all starts to sound alike. :?

My favourite song from SEB167 would probably be "Sun In The Rain - Manuel". The others are okay, to horrid (Harajuku Girl)

Seriously Harajuku girl is the first HI-NRG Attack song I've actually disliked. Mostly their songs just go by without much of an effect, but Harajuku girl wasn't even listenable :( hope they could put out some real hits for a change.

I really disliked Harajuku Girl at first, because it didn't stick to me like "Maid Attack" did in 161, or some of the other decent HRG songs in the 160's, but after several listens, it got catchy really quick.

"Ha-RA-juku girl! When I got you by my side, I turn around!"

The intro is very flighty and typically HRG in its presentation and almost turns you off of the whole song when you hear it at the beginning, but if you give it a chance, the rest of the song really sticks with you. Nice use of guitars, too.

I think I rated it a 7, but I'd say it's more deserving of an 8.

"Walkin' in the Shadow" is my latest obession, though. I seriously underevaluated that one. ^_^;

8)TIME has kicked butt ever since Atrium's "Funny Dancer". :D

I agree that Idol is outstanding! I like it more each TIME I hear it.
...but my real concern is with DELTA. Lately they go down. "Chemical Love is sounding great all around, but those other two songs...What happened? Is there life after Newfield?
I guess what I really miss is Laurent's renewed interest in a more Disco feel to DELTA's Latsest productions.

I totally agree with TIME Records growing better. Every time I hear a song from them they improve. It seems like they're returning to the good old TIME days of the 90's. Hmm, I wonder how a cooporation of SAIFAM and TIME would sound like :9~

Worst Ever? I don't know about that. As long as 154 exists....

The only song I really liked off of this was "Sun in the Rain", though. I'm not a big fan of happy, slow-style, or overly silly songs.

But back to the one I did like, Manuel really has the ability to make his songs sound faster than they really are with his singing and the high activity of the synths in his songs...
