No, don't get me wrong. I didn't mean to accuse you.UQ100 wrote:I did...? Sorry... it just seems it's a persistent theme here about pitching vocals and "faking" them, I thought it might be interesting to say what some often used methods for "cheating" are.

I know you meant the link posted on Artist Names thread by aboveUQ100 wrote: (see above post linking to clips of voice processing) less obvious with background parts.)
post linking, so I just guessed you intended to post on that thread.

Let me ask you something? What is additional artistic production?
(e.g. additional artistic production by Luca Degani)

I'm guessing additional artistic production means while the instruments, setup, way the song is going to be sung and other major things have been decided by Giacomo and Sergio, Luca recommends things such as speed, the intro, sound effects and such. He's probably the one that also writes the lyrics.

Oh, sorry!oresama-chan wrote:No, don't get me wrong. I didn't mean to accuse you.UQ100 wrote:I did...? Sorry... it just seems it's a persistent theme here about pitching vocals and "faking" them, I thought it might be interesting to say what some often used methods for "cheating" are.

You're right, I did post the "above" thing on another thread, oops.
I haven't the faintest idea, and the funny thing is that only two sites come up on a Google search for the phrase "additional artistic production", one of which is Eurobeat Prime (and the other is irrelevant.)oresama-chan wrote: Let me ask you something? What is additional artistic production?

You might care to read part of an interview in which producer Robbie Buchanan describes *Barbra Streisand's* input in comping her own vocals. (Do a search on that page for "comping" to get straight there.)Mikaeru wrote:XD

Then again, maybe you aren't after "vocal perfection" at the moment...
Looking up some information online and stuff I've read, artistic production is "beautifying or assisting in the production of an art form or music work." In other words, my guess is the additional artistic producer adds some input or assists in the production and/or composition.

Oh, I know about that, it's just I'm usually not working with all that great vocals to begin with, and other issues to deal with. I'd LIKE to be able to do that, but I'm just not in a situation where I can.UQ100 wrote:You might care to read part of an interview in which producer Robbie Buchanan describes *Barbra Streisand's* input in comping her own vocals. Yes, he has a lot a great interviews with mainly '80s Italo singers! I discovered his site just over a year ago, and like then, I'm still impressed. He does a nice job.UQ100 wrote:I wonder how this guy managed to get hold of some of these people for interviews. I didn't think he suggested that other labels were fake.

I've also wondered why we're getting so many DJ Zorro songs, but so few Mega NRG Man songs released in the past few years. Marin doesn't usually produce (he's only done, that I can recall, one or two songs), although recently he's been writing lyrics quite often.oresama-chan wrote:While it takes only a couple of hours to record one song? required to compose songs, that makes sense, though.

Aditional Artistic Production by Dave Hammond.
Taken from some of my older TIME 12's. Who knows what that means, There is an older Dave hammond 12'- Take Me Higher" Incredibly enuff, I don't have.
Is it Gino on Vocals?
As for the above question about Artistic Production, I kinda thought it meant a subtle way of giving credit to the coversleeve model or if the song contained Soken lines or something...or maybe it's just the way of an aditional writer crying out "Hey I came up with the C-mellow"

I think to an extent credits should be taken with pinch of salt, especially if they're vague. Sometimes "the boss" gets credits for doing nothing--or at least not what the credits say. Sometimes people get credits that don't mean a thing, even if they appear to. ("Vocals arranged by Den Harrow," it says on my "Best of Den Harrow" album.) OTOH, apparently Christina Aguilera got an "Additional vocal arrangement" credit because her she contributed some melody ideas to "Genie in a Bottle". But obviously she's not getting songwriting royalties.

an alias of Giancarlo when he arranged songs.

e.g.
Atrium - Jolly Joker
Produced by Giacomo Maiolini
Arranged by G.Maiolini & Dave Hammond
Recorded and Mixed by Frank Torpedo (=Mr. Gelmetti)
Mike Hammer - Hey Man
Produced by Giacomo Maiolini
Arranged by Dave Hammond and Frank Torpedo
Recorded and Mixed at Time Studio by Frank Torpedo
Dave Hammond - Take Me Higher
Original Sound Made by Time Records
Arranged by Dave Hammond & Frank Torpedo
Recorded at Time Studio by Frank Torpedo
Mixed by Laurent G. Newfield at Time Studio
You mean Giacomo Maiolini? I've always been wonderingUQ100 wrote:Sometimes "the boss" gets credits for doing nothing
what he is doing.

Yeah, I always find it interesting to know who wrote the lyrics and who wrote the music etc. And it's quite vague in SEB terms since it's just a list of names. Especially if it's a long list of names (e.g. In The Dark / Silver or Any Song / Dr's Girl), you want to know what exactly did each person do in the production of the song.UQ100 wrote:I think to an extent credits should be taken with pinch of salt, especially if they're vague.
