I look back on the late 80s and early 90s with much pleasure, when average BPM was 130.
I personally like the slower melodies as well. I'm more at home with a song BPM around 130 to about 150 at the max. The prefered range for me is 133 (which is about right for most club and dance music nowadays) to about 144ish (which is where most vocal trance tracks are at).

This idea entertains me very much :)

Imagine that. I though it was a funny idea, but i'm sure if it did happen there would be an outrage/protest somewhere. However I totally would buy something like that, it would be the funniest thing ever.

EDIT: BREAKING NEWS! ITS A REALITY!

I know I'm rehashing an old topic here, but this has to be said...

I think the witchhunt that followed the release of this album with people all baying for Dave Rodgers' blood for covering a song that was allegedly far superior when sung by Wain L was completely unjustified. The song suits Dave's voice perfectly, and he does a fantastic job with it. The Wain L version sounds half-hearted at best, and the best bits actually come when you can clearly hear Dave singing back-up vocals!

I am by no means a Dave Rodgers fan boy, but I fail to understand why so many people jumped on this bandwagon when his version is superior in so, so many ways. :|

I jumped on this "bandwagon" because his version really, really is quite bad, even for his repertoire. To say that Wain L sang the old version half-heartedly just adds further insult to injury - she is one of the most powerful female vocalists A-Beat C has had, and that song was, for me, her finest hour indeed.

Whether you like the original or not, what is clear is that when the dust settles, Make Up Your Mind 2007 will be forgotten very quickly. The fact that anybody cares about the original at all shows that it has endured for all these years far more than any remake can ever hope to aspire to.

The thing that makes me laugh about the whole Make Up Your Mind thing is that, Dave has covered songs that don't fit him... songs by females... remember Not Gonna Get Us? Remember!? XD

I thought Karen did a really good job on the vocals for Make Up Your Mind, I am a fan of her voice, her style, and how she sings songs like Make Up Your Mind, Hurricane, etc... Dave, his voice is good in songs about racing and space boys but like.... :C @ females. What's next? Covering Sunday? :P

Though, I do hand it to him, he is the only Eurobeat artist that I can see being able to cover ANY eurobeat song. XD

I'd rather not. Didn't he also make a horrendous KISS cover?
Anyway not knocking Dave in any way, But I remember his awesome songs from the 90's and his slower stuff like Friday Night and Don't Close Your Eyes 8)
Shoot why couldn't he have sung that "Black Devil" trax. That was perfect for his style!

I'll be Quoting this for truth.

But both versions are still good. Dont like one more or less.

Speaking of Dave...

In the new Initial D Megamix with Battle Digest, theres a part when Dave himself is singing Disco Fire by Neo. Why? Did he decide to do it for fun... or maybe...

I must say that this was actually a very good one from Giancarlo.
Anyway it's good to see the differents of upinions recarding remakes, labels and the BPM.
I prefure a slower BPM and I do understand MarkIVENTI totally if he recals the HI-NRG material. And about Dave, I do prefure his trax but also I do not like all the things he has done.
But should that be possible, if you're like for instance the Oliva's, Moroni's, Gelmetti's, Castagna's and Dall'ora stuff, these people and all the others are so busy in this music scene for such a long time. Most of them started in the early eighties! Most of the currently forum quests did walk in the pampers at that time :D
But eh, keep up the posts with respect to eachother and to the people behind the music. For us buyers it's so easy, listen to the CD. A positive or negative reaction and just wait till the next month for new stuff. And this same game starts over.
For the people behind the music there's more! What about creatifity, pressure of Avex and the things they do beside Eurobeat. Don't forget they have a live!

That's all :D

Ronald.
