Super Eurobeat Vol.208
Am I the only one who doesn't really like 'Invisible Touch'? The major problem I have with it is that it sounds surprisingly hollow for a Fastway song. It has no meat around the bones, as if it's a missing a layer of synths or something. The introduction also feels tacked on and shows that SCP doesn't really put much effort into them.
It's still my second or third favourite song off this album (that isn't saying much though), but I expected it to have much more bite.

I don't think Invisible Touch sounds as awesome as it did in that initial parapara video that was leaked on YouTube, but it's still a good song. SCP have been pretty ropey for me recently, so it was good to hear a good solid powerful male track like the ones they used to pump out so easily a couple of years ago

Ahaha, what?Mr Shin, don't loose the valuable time, start to gain your enlargement right now!
Lead the enlargement revolution!
Getting back on topic I did enjoy the few Dima tracks on this album. I appreciate that most the producers are trying new things even if the new things don't quite stick to the "official eurobeat format". I do however think that the last track shouldn't even exist on this album. This isn't a J-Pop album. :O
So far, I like Awake, Crazy, The Magic Sunshine and Pretty Woman.
I dislike Invisible Touch, Never Gonna Make and Memories Of You a lot. I didn't like Never Gonna Make and Memories Of You on 21st Century back in the days, and the eurobeat version didn't work out well either.
If I could give my top 5 remake suggestions to SAIFAM, this would be the list:
1. Morgana - Take A Look (Factory Team Edit)
This song was almost perfect already with the piano intro, backing synths, vocals and melodies. Replace the annoying kick drum, riff sound and riff melody completely and we could have one of the best eurobeat songs ever.
2. A.Kay-B.J. - Rebel Rebel (The Definitive Mix)
That kickdrum blows away my speakers, but melodically this song is perfect. The vocals sound like Daniela Rando so that's a big plus as well.
3. Heartclub - With Me (Factory Up Mix)
Same comment as Morgana. Maybe we'll end up with Krystyna - Lonely Hearts, which this song was derived from.
4. Housecream feat. Jo' - Get Me Into Your Heart (VDA Edit)
Another song that could have a eurobeat treatment and become a true eurobeat classic.
5. Orlando - All Of You (Factory Team Fashion Mix)
Now I listen to this song again I think it sounds much like their current eurobeat style. But it's a decent song so I mention it anyway.
So please SAIFAM, create some new songs or remix some of these

Invisible Touch definitely lost a lot of touch since the samples and the youtube video but as compared to some of his flops starting from Crash Boom Burn Me Up to Rock Beatin Wild (Excluding Love Countdown), I don't think I can ask for more. I agree with you on the intro but SCP has never been a label that churns out good intros in the first place.Jay wrote:Am I the only one who doesn't really like 'Invisible Touch'? I do have a lot of beef with Eyes Of Sky though, Vivi's vocals give me a headache and her once mature voice now sounds almost like a lesser - Christine. A far cry from Just For Me or even *tch* I Love My Dog.
I'd love to hear a remake of "If You Believe" by Enerjay - the female vocals were Melody Castellari anyway, but I absolutely adored that song the first time I heard it and only found out last year that it was a Saifam track (I got it originally on a dance compilation I bout in Spain in 2000).jeurobeat wrote:So far, I like Awake, Crazy, The Magic Sunshine and Pretty Woman.

That would be awesome

I've listened through this album, and I gotta say that I'm really impressed by the turnout this time! Like SEB 207, I quite enjoyed every single track, even those that I was initially unsure about. My favorite tracks here are probably Invisible Touch, Memories of You, Queen of Heart, Crazy, and The Magic of Sunshine. Without a doubt, this is definitely one of the best releases of the 200's decade; it's just a shame that it's going to have such a lousy follow-up.
Haha, not really. 'Invisible Touch' is the best out of a bad bunch of songs, which is not really a consolation. If it featured on SEB207 instead, it'd easily be in the bottom half for me.Tiger wrote:you must really like it if it's in your top 3
'Awake' and 'Jungle of Fire' are growing on me though... slightly,
I think it was in I Venti charts, it's a good song indeedthe_ditz wrote:I'd love to hear a remake of "If You Believe" by Enerjay - the female vocals were Melody Castellari anyway, but I absolutely adored that song the first time I heard it and only found out last year that it was a Saifam track (I got it originally on a dance compilation I bout in Spain in 2000).

So I caved and bought the whole album. Had a lot to do with realizing I actually had a decent amount of extra money this month (hooray for not eating out so much = moar Eurobeatz).
Anyway. I figured I'd like "Queen of Heart" from the sample, but I find I like it a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. Normally this style of song totally turns me off, but for some reason it really appeals to me here. The weather's been nice here lately, so I've been driving with the windows down, this song blasting, and making a fool out of myself singing along. This is definitely my top song from this album.
Also really enjoying "Jungle of Fire", "Invisible Touch", "Never Gonna Make", "EZ Do Dance", and surprisingly, "Crazy", which has grown on me dramatically.
Every time I listen to "EZ Do Dance", I think of Mortal Kombat and it makes me happy. O.o

I won't be getting my cd till next week, so I won't be doing no full review cuz it just don't feel right, but I did listen to the songs; so here are just a few thoughts.
As predicted, I love all three HRG Attack songs. My only slight beef would be that the dynamic range or whatever is too high on The Magic Of Sunshine The synths sound like they overpower Ciao Ciao's vocals and the "galloping bass" is also kinda drowned out by those overpowering effects. Otherwise excellent song. I will add that I'm sorely missing the simple more melodic style of songs from the actual 90s. These new style have the right bpms, but those overpowering musical effects barely qualify the songs as aishu.
Dima's songs are also superb. Loving Mind Games as my favourite cd track. Crazy is just that "Crazy", but somehow keeps the listener in awe the entire 5;+ mins.
The biggest surprise for me is Corrado. Instantly fell in love that jumpy synth riff of "Queen Of Heart" It also has a great old style melody. Tis a Rizzi/Capaldi collaboration?
Fastway's song is cool, but the way he repeats "Invisible Touch" in the intro sounds horrendous.
Last but not least are Siafam's songs. I'm with jeurobeat on this one. Didn't like them then and don't like them now. I think Mauro and Co. should just sit down and compose a new song already.
Overall. I'm really enjoying this cd, which is a good thing ,cuz it sounds like the next two months are gonna drag along.

Futura has done a great job at producing Tell Me Why, it's refreshingly different and while the song itself isn't maybe the strongest one you could hope, the different production values make it memorable.
Can get much better from here, so no worries at all if Gramps handed the throne to someone younger with more enthusiasm. Oh and after listening to the stuff on the album, I think this is not a bad album at all... although not very exceptional either. Me likes Vivi~
