To drnrg:

I forgot to credit "Ghosts of Suburbia" and "Tip of My Tongue" to Mortimer, my 'darker' alias. ^^;

Odyssey, I do really like your song ''Ghosts of Suburbia''.
But your vocals just aren't powerful enough for a song like this one.

I suggest you to put some more power in your voice, and you might can ''edit'' your voice a little in Audacity so it sounds a little better than it does now.

I love your riff and I think it's one of this album's best songs ;)

The current vocals sound a little bit like Digibeat, and I think this song just doesn't fit to your vocal work. I'm sorry but I hope I gave you some good tips.

I'm over the moon with your review drnrg - I had hoped that the track would tap into the fast, agressive style that you enjoy, and it seems I was right. Thanks so much for your kind words - it really gives me the push to produce more tracks!

I'm sure #Infinity will be shocked that you enjoyed Brainwash so much. We thought that it might have been a bit too trancy for you...

I was listening to this podcast in my car on the way to work this morning, and the tracks sound sooooooo good on my car stereo! I was pumping them loud through Glasgow city centre!! :D

Great job, guys!

I've bought a MIDI-USB interface for my keyboard recently and have several ideas for Eurobeat songs as well. I'm also trying to learn Logic Studio, but it's probably going to take a while... I should have something ready around July or August if everything goes well.

Also, if you need more vocalists, I'm willing to help!

Also, I'm amused that drnrg thinks Brainwash has male vocals. I'll let #Infinity do the explanations, as he knows the singer, but I think you may be surprised drnrg.

I was also thinking, why is this artist called Nina when there's a male singing.

Another mirror for direct download. And I also fixed the VBR header, because it was broken in the original file.

Oooohhh, intriguing - I'll need to download it when I get home from work (yes, working the Bank Holiday - it's amazing what I'll do for an extra day's annual leave from work!!)

EDIT: http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_det ... d_id=46759
EBPrime presents Underground Eurobeat podcast

Eurobeat Prime presents Underground Eurobeat Containing Indie tracks from Odyssey, DTZ, Paradise Last and more.
EDIT 2: To be honest, I'm a little disappointed that it was just the same podcast again. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have more mirrors and more exposure, but I was kinda looking forward to hearing some comments about the tracks...

Ahoy lads,

I got assigned to a boring remedial task at my job, which allowed me time to listen to this, and as much as I'd love to do a track-by-track review I don't feel I need to, so I'll just say this:

Good times! First off, shame on you Lebon14 for your elitist views on how Eurobeat should sound. Clearly nobody that participated in this compilation has multi-million dollar studios with 20+ years experience. A good, well-written song should stand on its own regardless of production value, especially in a case like this- an "underground" compilation. Top-notch production is certainly deserving of many of these tracks, but failing that it should be appreciated for what it is.

Shinraikan, great job with the megamix. Personally I think it may have been a bit too long, perhaps the songs should have been cut shorter, but the transitions worked well.

Travis, you have a great speaking voice, and a perfect announcer voice. Most of your commentary was pretty hokey but it was cute nonetheless.

I've always liked Odyssey's tracks. You're a great songwriter, your melodies and structure leave little to be desired. Given the sounds you're working with, they are balanced well together. Only thing is your vocals don't always slide into place in the mix, and your kick is always far too quiet. FWIW I will always recognize an Odyssey track when I hear one.

Paradise Last chose some badass songs to redo (I'm a sucker for cheesy American pop music) and you did them well. Some of your riffs aren't the coolest, but you always have an array of euro-friendly sounds happening. Trade that Slayer guitar plugin for a real guitar on occasion, you can always spot that a mile away ;) I'd also love to hear you crank out some original tunes if you have any desire to do so.

I simutaneously liked and didn't like "Eurobot." Lo-bit square waves are always a plus in my book, so it retains that appeal to me, but I didn't care much for the vocals as a whole. Very cool concept for a song, and I can definitely deal with robot voice where appropriate but they were far too cluttered to be listenable at times. Riff and chorus was cool but I didn't feel they worked with the rest of the song.

"Brainwash" was decent but I didn't really enjoy the progressions, and the vocal melody didn't make much sense to me.

"Burn My Heart" was cool but the vocals sound like they are struggling a little too much and didn't really fit the mix well. Compress/EQ/tune/align them shits and they will sound better. Oh and great job with the artwork, looks pro (that was you right?).

All in all, I hope to see all of you continuing to do this, because there's no reason not to.

I'm thinking of planning something big pretty soon, any interested songwriting parties should ask me about it (email email email)

I haven't had a chance to work on that yet, that's tomorrow's episode along with our 196 review

Sir,
You cannot compare fan-made Eurobeat with professional Eurobeat.

That's why I just don't like fan-made stuff (with some exceptions).
