I don't think robotic voices or heavy auto-tune are all bad. They sound good in songs that suit a robotic and/or more monotone drive, but in eurobeat, I want to hear passionate energy from the singer.

NO. They are definitely not.

Vocaloids and the related products are rather a cult following amongst anime fans or otakus even in japan. Still the majority of japanese music listeners don't accept the idea of a robot singer or something. Autotuned singers still have their tangible existence. Vocaloids don't.

I can't tell Vocaloids are bad or good though.

The Oricon music charts would like to talk to you, with at least 1 Vocaloid album being in the list of the best selling CDs in Japan every year, recently.

The point is, the album WILL make some money. Most likely better than a regular SEB album.

Let's throw some oil on the fire... (well, that's what I think I'm doing anyway)

Even more curious is their comment in the Facebook post about the same work in progress track:
SCP Music wrote:Vocaloid is alright if it's alongside proper Eurob ......... who will take the leading role in this particular track? Curious
That last bit highlighted in bold suggests that perhaps it won't just be Eurobeat remixes of Hatsune Miku tracks, but rather "remakes" by famous Eurobeat vocalists - could that be true? Wishful thinking perhaps, but that comment above is really intriguing...

DJ Command did a cover that's mind-blowing, of which this is a clip (minimize the window if you're not down with the video) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuCxy5a_adM

Ahh, this gives me so many ideas... Eurobeat Vocaloid cover album perhaps in the future? :D

I did this a few months ago and I'd love to do something like it again, maybe with English vocalists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFWScJxYJ4U

It's currently at #11 for the compilations chart in Amazon JP, so this may be a hit album. :)
