pure labrador,a black one and blonde one.
I love labs. They are excellent for a house( but they don't have much
space to be very comfy in a typical stuffy city flat).
A dog never betray...
Wait till you make him your co-writer..
any ideas for my next CD sound library?
It will not look very hot to people who are not actually into eurobeat,
so the market for this sort of thing could be a professional media for either Japan or Russia. I know a guy who writes for a russian Show
Master magazine for professional musicians, and they have distributed media in the past. Other ideas can also happen, but this is perhaps
better for a private discussion.

i have a technical question concerning my audiointerface. maybe i'm in the wrong place to solve that problem but it's worth a try.
so, i got my edirol fa-66 today (
http://www.rolandus.com/products/detail ... odID=FA-66 ) and the installation was fast and easy. but when i tried to listen to a song, the fist problem occured: the sound is getting interrupted every 3 seconds (also the out led turns off in that moment). changing the buffer size only increases the time between the interruption. the interface is connected to my computer via 4pin firewire. my system: ecs g556 notebook, pentium m 1,7ghz, 1 gb ram and windows xp pro with service pack 2.
does anyone have an idea how to solve that problem?

Not really, but have you checked with Roland themselves? If it's just an issue with one piece of hardware, it's usually better to get help from the manufacturer.
It could be installed improperly, it could be an unknown conflicts, or possibly your interface is defective.
Also check if the drivers you installed are the latest ones.

the interface itself seems to be ok... at least routing an instrument/microphone to the headphone output works without any problems, so i guess that there is a problem with my firewire connection.
i wrote to the roland support and they told me to disable firewalls/anti virus software. i will try it now and after that i will try to run the system at a friends computer. my last idea is installing windows again without sp2, since i heard that sp2 causes conflicts in some cases... lets hope the best!

Lina - Scared
I released a version of this a while back with my vocals. Shockingly, not a single person commented on it.
But I finally got someone who CAN sing to come in, and here's the result.
Rather nice, a bit lightly arranged, but HARMONIES!
HARMONIES!!!
*cough*

Buh? Thanks for the advice, I just honestly didn't expect it!
Yeah, as I said, it wasn't that strongly arranged, should just make some tracks into audio, because I hit the polyphony limits of my main module, and got close to the vsts redlining the cpu.
Was trying to go for something closer to trance-style, ended up with generic techno. *shrugs* Probably will keep working at it. Needs more on the high end.

i changed computers with my sis now and with this computer the audio interface finally works fine.
@newfield: i'm working on three songs right now -two eurobeat and one trance- but i got a question on trance songs: are there special rules how to build up a trance song? for example eurobeat could be verse, bridge, chorus (2x) and melo, but i couldn't find it out for trance because it seems as if most trance songs are build up different...
@mikaeru: the song really doesn't sound very eurobeatish to me but that doesn't mean that it's bad or something

... i think you should try to replace the drum layer...

Dave, depends what kind of trance. The poptrance I do is similar to eurobeat with 2 verses going into the chorus.Other kind of trance is more mood influenced,no rules.. just make it growing and use long fills before going into main parts, riff or chorus.

Here I go again!
Lina - Scared (VERSION 2!)
What was changed:
Under advice, changed the drum sounds, and added a crash cymbal
Bass changed to something lighter with a better attack
EQ-ed the heck out of everything
New sounds added (just one instrument, but serves multiple purposes)
Chorus added to voice
So it's roughly the same arrangement, but comes through a lot clearer, so things that were harder to hear before come out now.

Now working on a song as a joke with a some friends from my study. It was intended to be ItaloDisco at first, but it became an Italo/Eurodance crossover... Don't take it too seriously, it's a song that spreads our love of noodles. It'll be done in a few days.
@Mikareu: The song's lyrics seem sometimes a bit off-timed and sometimes even a bit out-of-tune... But it's definately better than the first version!

thank you for the information mr. newfield! until now i created a solid base for a trance song, but like you said in another thread before, it takes time to produce a good song. that's why it's still too early to upload a version of it, even more since i'm still in a "learning by doing" process with all the software and instruments i use.
i was planing to do the vocals for my song some time this week but it seems as if my mic just won't work anymore for unknown reasons... speaking of it, what could damage a condenser microphone? it's a SCT-700 (
http://www.thomann.de/thoiw2_the_tbone_ ... dinfo.html ) and it worked fine until yesterday. i didn't use phantom power on it because it got it's own power supply. i didn't hit it or something. it was just standing around and the next day it stopped working

i'm not very experienced with sound equipment yet so i'm afraid it could've been my mistake...

Lots of things. Maybe the cable or the connectors went bad. Maybe a setting on the mixer/compy/interface went funny. Maybe the phantom power went bad, blew fuse or something. Did you get a used mic? Maybe its previous owner messed it up and it just went bad now. Or if it's new, a parts defect.
Just try changing cables, connections for now, if it still doesn't work, just take it into a shop. But make sure you get an estimate first, so that the repairs, if needed, aren't just more than the cost of a new mic itself.

Lina - Sure
The second song she recorded the day she came over.
Fairly different feel than Scared. (tempted to make a pun)
Well, enjoy it. While everyone seems to be out making labels, I'll sit here, plugging away, hoping to get picked up or something.
