Wow, I absolutely love Every Night by Paul Harris. It's definitely my favorite eurobeat song ever. I also liked Mad Desire. The rest of the album was average.

I'd like to point out that Ray Sun is a freakin' genius.

Pardon the bump, but today is very special to me because it officially marks the 10-year anniversary of when I started listening to eurobeat. This was the first album in the series I heard when it was brand new, so as part of the my celebration, I began my day-long eurobeat marathon with it.
How does it hold up? It's still quite a blast to return to. Like the subsequent album SEB 173 (which I'm finishing as of writing this post), it's one of the most consistent albums in the entire franchise. It isn't AS good as something like 87, 162, or 103, but it's definitely above average. Originally, I thought the first half was definitely a bit superior to the latter half, but now I think "Dark and Bright, "Para Para Girl," "Getting the Fever," "Keep on Loving You," and especially "Black Devil" are all solid keepers. My absolute favorite track, however, is definitely Stephy Martini's "Mad Desire," propelled by groundbreaking production and Martin's fantastic-as-usual vocal talent. This is also one of the better albums for TIME in their later years, with greatest mention going to "One Night in Tokyo," by far one of the best Alexis songs. This was also the last time right before A-Beat C's dark age when the label was still really good. While "Countdown to Destination" was a poor introduction to Manuel for me, the songs here still pack a fair punch, even with the trancey elements starting to creep in.

Oh yes, like my former StepMania community acquaintance Ebisumaru stated (boy, do I miss him!), "Every Night" is an awesome song, although I personally prefer the softer version from Eurobeat Masters with the piano intro. Those little touches really heighten its emotional appeal.

Oh, please, click me.
SEB 172 is the first SEB I ever purchased so, it also has a lot of nostalgia for me.
