I just received my copy today and I really like every song on the CD! I'm only a bit disappointed in "PIRATES", but that's because I was suspecting something more like Eurogrooves and something faster, but that's really the only disappointment on the CD for me.

Expect a review from me in a few weeks. =3 I need to listen to the CD more before I review it.

Perhaps 'Pirates' could sound better in full, but at the moment I'm not phased by it. I can't shake off the possibility that this was originally meant to be a Hyper Techno song that's been 'eurobeatised.' The vocalist is also quite amateurish and lame.
"Pirates" may not be the best thing A-Beat-C presented during the 19x decade so far but it is really an enjoyable song by any means. The vocalist sound very fitting to the song and I think I can look forward to more songs by this alias.

Last Added : Who is April ? I thought Hanami was just disturbing to listen to at some points.
As far as I know, it's like a vocal generation software that you can get, so it's not an actual "person" that's singing. I enjoy Hanami quite a lot, but I know there will be many people that will hate it's airy, eurodance vibes.
It's more about the vocals which bugs me a lot due to my dislike for chipmunks, and this song just had to do vocals that are close to chipmunk-ish, Other than that, The melody is okay but I won't be listening to it for the disturbing vocals.

After 2 days of non-stop blasting 196, Well ... Here goes.

Max (10++)
Min (5)

My rating :
1. Give Me Sunshine - Futura (10++)
2. Upside Down - Queen 26 (10+)
3. King & Queen - Tora (10+)
4. Bye Bye Tokyo - Delta Queens (10+)
5. Shot Shot Shot - Giorgia V (9 1/2)
6. Pirates - Rich Hard (9)
7. Love In The Elevator - Dave Rodgers (9)
8. Monkey Dance - Y&Co feat Domino (8 1/2)
9. One Day - Kate Rush (8 )
10. Mamma Mia - Veronica (7)
11. Stargate - Starkly Ice (6 1/2)
12. Bright Time - Jay Lehr (6 1/2)
13. Hanami - April (5 1/2)

"Give Me Sunshine" is just plain awesome, One of the best A-Beat-C releases this decade so far alongside "Burning Like Fire", Definitely a nice female entry by ABC, Looking forward to more from Futura. Delta Queens didn't disappoint as usual and the Queen 26 entry was so catchy and fun to listen to. King & Queen = Good Remake, Way better than the seemingly boring original. Most of the other songs were also nice and I do love 196 a lot, although not as good as 195, but I will definitely come back to 196 for many of the songs present.

Final : 9

Last Edit : Rating changed. (4th April)

I received my copy yesterday. Having listened to the disc a few times, there's a few things I need to mention:
  • Bright Time and Hanami are still my favourites from the album.
  • Stargate was really cool, if only for the fact that HRG broke out of their typical formula for once. Also, it's actually a proper extended that lasts just beyond five minutes...not the 4:25-4:35 productions they dish out all the time. Stargate is pretty much the answer to all of my HRG concerns from the past two years, and I hope they continue with this style. Thank you HRG, it brought a smile to my face!
  • Thankfully, Pirates sounds 100% better in full. The chorus is very much akin to Hyper Techno to my ears, and that still bugs me, but the rest is all right. I doubt it'll be particularly memorable or longlasting, as there are clearly better productions on the disc.
  • I was willing to give Monkey Dance a serious listen, but I can only take it with a grain of salt. Domino sounds like a tryhard throughout the whole song, and some areas of the production sound halfbaked (such as the riff). What happened to songs like GGWYWGG and Cooking Boy? They were no where near as irritating as some of the songs she's released recently. :( I had my guard up for Shot Shot Shot as well, but, on the contrary, it was very catchy; a cute way to 'end the decade.'
The general level of the album was pretty steady for once, quite similar to SEB187 where there were, quite literally, no bad songs at all. I was very surprised how this release turned out - there were only two big flops.

Top 3
  1. Jay Lehr - Bright Time
  2. April - Hanami
  3. Starkly Ice - Stargate
Bottom 3
  1. Y&Co. feat. Domino - Monkey Dance
  2. Futura - Give Me Sunshine
  3. ...

Jay keep in mind that Monkey Dance is not Gogos but is Y&Co. as stated in the booklet. So far the only thing Gogo's about that track is Domino's vocals  . The extended format is interesting and you can tell DJ Boss had fun playing around with the track.

I am REALLY loving One Day and Mamma Mia. I love Eurogrooves use of guitars in that track and the distortion effects they use with their 'heavy bass'. One day is so light, energetic, refreshing and just overall great!

Hanami would be awesome in my books if the vocoder effects on the vocals were left out, or at the very least, not overused as much as they are in this track. SCP at least gets points for thinking outside of the box once again to bring us something not quite heard of in SEB thus far.

The new King & Queen sounds like Sinclaire took the original and mixed it with his Hyper Techno track Ave Ave 8D It's so friggin' awesome and retains the epicness of the original. 8)

You may have a point considering the similarities in their accent (more specifically the way they sing). Maybe it's vice versa and he's lead with her on back up?

Hmmm, I pitched-down this song and indeed it sounds like Davide ALOT!

Not a new practice for Dima at all. Dima often pitched up his vocals for the John & Rose alias, so he's probably done it again.

They should have named this ~Ritalin Flop~, it's just so awful. Bright Time is the only good song in the whole album.

Oh how i miss the old days. For me Marko Polo's Hai Hai Hai was the last superb/classic song. At least Bye Bye Tokyo has a riff from I was made for loving you and a sample from Hai Hai Hai.

He did it for Hey Hey Baby Cry. The highest I've heard him go was for Chester- Let Me Go and that Hi-Gang - Eeh Ooh! Eeh Ooh! Eeh Ooh!. I think it was him on Real Power- Touch Me as well. Even though the data base says Emanuella Gubellini? Anyway, that sounds nothing like One Day. :???:

Ok then first listen to ''David Dima - Help Me'' for example.
And then listen to ''One Day''. ;) Then imagine a male singing the song...

Do you now think it's Davide?
