Today's Tune
That's right, although TNT was sung by De Jorio. Dance With Me was an italo classic from 1988. I was surprised it was released on Super Eurobeat in 1994.drnrg wrote:I'll choose a Derreck Simon maxi I have.
TNT- Dereck Simon (ABeatC)
I think that TIME it was Mega NRG Man doing the vocals. Also made top 5 on the Iventi Charts.
Today's song: Jenny Kee - New Love has a strong resemblance to Novecento - Movin' On which is a very good song as well.
Wow, in a totally unrelated setting bumped into a song by Clara that is not eurobeat at all, more so eurodance or whatever you want to call it, not exactly pure eurodance either but as close as it gets. But this thing is simply superb! Needs more visibility!

I already know this track, it's from 1996 when Clara was in Antares group:Bore wrote:Wow, in a totally unrelated setting bumped into a song by Clara that is not eurobeat at all, more so eurodance or whatever you want to call it, not exactly pure eurodance either but as close as it gets. Personally I prefer "Ride On Meteorite" but anywat it's good piece of eurohouse/dance.

Mmmm that's a good one as well. Though the original Whenever You Want Me isn't quite as powerful as the Leon S. version. But still good. Nice, I rarely bump into new eurodance these days, so it's a good day to be me.Faarben wrote:I already know this track, it's from 1996 when Clara was in Antares group:Bore wrote:Wow, in a totally unrelated setting bumped into a song by Clara that is not eurobeat at all, more so eurodance or whatever you want to call it, not exactly pure eurodance either but as close as it gets. "Whenever You Want Me (the extended mix)" slightly sounds like Katy Perry's "California Girls"Bore wrote:Wow, in a totally unrelated setting bumped into a song by Clara that is not eurobeat at all, more so eurodance or whatever you want to call it, not exactly pure eurodance either but as close as it gets. Listen to the opening melody of the lyrics of the two (I switch between the 2 while on at the same time) and you will see how they have a similar sound. Much of today's mainstream "Pop Dance" music has alot of similarties to Eurohouse/eurodance. I am not surprised at all that Clara's song was an inspiration to Katy's song, giving the amount of songs Clara has sung for in both the Italo, Euro, and house music scenes, she has been more inspirational to other artists more than any of us will ever know. Just look at the famous group "Aqua" from back in the 90's. They basically took all the ideas of fun, happy, sound of Eurobeat and made it the cute high pitched vocals of the like of Clara Moroni to make it big back in the 90's with the likes of "Barbie Girl", among others.
"Antares - Whenever You Want Me" is definately one of my fav songs from her, and still find it's melody to be so ahead of it's time back in 1996 and well done that it would even still sound fresh today if it were ever put on a mainstream radio.
I am quite happy to show off this song to my friends as a prime example of a well done Eurohouse track from the 90's, and very glad it has never had a big exposure back in it's time, as it would have ruined it as a hidden "jem" by Clara. "Ride on a Meteorite" was definitely more popular, but I just never really liked that song as it sounded to much like other "eurodance" tracks. "Whenever You Want Me" always stood out as the best track by "Antares" by a long shot.
