Im pretty sure Dima is not Kate Rush...Though she might be Krystal , then again i would be surprised.
By the way , every Dima Music song pitched down sounds like Davide...lol
I will come back on this ...

This cd is truly great. I say this cuz all labels put out songs I really dig. Giorgia V. nturns out to be one of my favs. Monkey Dance is also very good(no airy transy synths on neither song)

My very favourites are Stargate and Bright TIME.

It's funny how those who don't really like Stargate are not too crazy about Jay Lehr's track, but those who do like them, turn out to be thier favourites on the cd.

I'm gonna spin this baby all day tommorow and probably have a review by Monday afternoon, but for now I'm really enjoying 11 out of 14 tracks :D

Well, I'm looping my copy over a few times, so I'm sure my last ever SEB review (for the time being) will be on the way soon. But notably so far...

For an album that starts off with such an amazing bang (One Day) I can't BELIEVE how badly it sinks after only 1 track!

The original Monkey Dance was a below-par song at best, but Y&Co. have taken it and made it SUCK BIG BLOATED MONKEY BALLS.

I'm glad I don't do BeatMania anymore. I'd have beaten my head to death on the miniature keyboard by now, before stabbing it with the sharp corner of my PS2.

Good thing it comes back up to scratch with Bright Time, really - now THAT is an AMAZING track!

Well, here's my list of the good and bad from the album

The Killer
One Day (classic Dima)
Monkey Dance 2009 (a delicious remix--killer insturmentals)
Mamma Mia (Right up there with VKTRS from 193)
Bye Bye Tokyo (did anyone else think of Donna's On My Own in the intro?)
Bright Time (Lehr-a-gasm :x)
Hanami (like others said, Ai's chipmunk sister, but beautiful synths)
King and Queen (an epic feel, a dash of hyper techno in the intro...a true win)
Shot Shot Shot (much better than Race Queen...her vocals make me think of Domino and old HI-NRG Attack female vocals. It's delicious!)

The Filler
Love In The Elevator (sigh...he's just not the same)
Give Me Sunshine (not a fan of A-BEAT C since their performances on 191)
Stargate (while not bad, not my cup of tea)
Upside Down (hate to say it, but this song is rather bland...weak synths)
Pirates (about as nerving as Norma's accent on this song)

Contrary to drnrg, I actually thought there were loads of airy synths on the GGM tracks, especially on Monkey Dance.

Some other brief observations:
- I really don't like Giorgia V's vocal style - it sounds very unrefined and amateur, but she is saved by a good chorus in her track.
- Futura sounds like t.A.t.U. during the intro to Give Me Sunshine.
- Bright Time is a fantastic 80's kick back, but the verses leave me slightly cold for some reason.
- Pirates and One Day are still ruling this album on the whole.

Oh, and one final point - does anyone else feel the need to have a shower after listening to Love In The Elevator? The combination of Dave's vocals, the lyrics and just the general theme makes my skin crawl ever-so-slightly... :D

Monkey Dance isn't GoGo's Music though it's Y&Co. Ltd
Anyways I agree about Futura sounding like Tatu. It may be just me but Give Me Sunshine is alot more enjoyable in the nonstop mix, same goes for Hanami.

I realise that it's Y&Co Ltd., but for the ease of talking, I'm referring to it as GGM. You can completely tell that it's Y&Co that did the production with all the beat stuttering - it's all very IIDX/nonstop stylee...

I enjoyed Hanami from the first listen (I know there aren't many that agree), but it does have an extra "zing" in the megamix. And I have to say - Honmax (New Generation) did a great job with the megamix - it did some unique things with the segways between tracks rather than just ending one song and ending another. And the fact that it was the first track on the album made it even better - I skip the megamix on 195 every time as there is no point in listening to 45 seconds of the 13 tracks I've just heard in full!

Well, I'm looping my copy over a few times, so I'm sure my last ever SEB review (for the time being
A sad thought for me as well, so I'll go balls out and spare no praises or disses on this review. TIME to go out with a bang review-wise.so,here goes. At least the SEB extended formatts closes off with a great compilation. 8)

2. Kate Rush- One Day(Dima)
after the usual nonstop megamix fare, the cd starts off with the latest entry from David Dima. After quite a few listens, I've come to the conclusion that this is a 50/50 vocal mix of both Krystal and Dima. Especially in the chorus part, where very distantly in the backround are also Dima's male counterpart vocals. The intro is all kinds of fantastic. It's actually were I got the first hint of Dima's superhigh pitched vocals. They sound even higher than the style he used back in TIME in songs for Chester and Hi-Gang. Right after that we get the first of what has to be the most Italo influenced riff on the cd. For new skooolers it has the melody of ABeatC's- Dereck Simon song I Wanna Be Free and for old skoolers and If I may be so bold has a distinct feel of Eddy Huntington's Meet My Friend(just eons faster); which is mainly known for it's heavy homosexual vibe in the lyrics. Speaking of Lyrics, I didn't really care for One Day's lyrics. One moment they say "I'll Never Miss You", then the next "Please Save me" unless I'm missing the context. Anyway, the song is what really excites and this one as I allready mentioned has a cool Italo melody throught it's duration. The chorus is very uplifting and the fact that that same uplifting chorus is used in the intro is partly the reason the song makes an amazing first impression. Once again we must thank Dima for inserting those wonderful raw piano keys and a very cool guitar solo. I for one, was very pleased to break away form the Dima alias, at least for one volume. An almost perfect grade and that's only beacuse the song seemed a tad short and lacked that third verse.
10-/10

3. Y& Co. feat Domino- Monkey Dance 09(Y&Co/GGMs)
I don't think I have ever heard any other Y&Co song besided this one, but thier style definatley has something to do with the fact that I enjoyed this Domino style track more than ParaBoy or that other Cooking Boy song. Even the melody in the verses and bridge is more uplifting, but not silly sounding. The chorus fuses in perfectly and she even sounds better with faster Eurobeat synths accompanying her. The synth style might still be the same "Airy" ones, but sound more aggresssive in the fasion they are palyed. I also really enjoyed the break that this Monkey Dance has and those crazy synths buiding up to the last verse. This song sounds more like the early Domino from ABeatC and that's mighty fine by me.
8+/10

4. Veronika- Mama Mia(Eurogrooves)
So is this Annerly again? I concider myself to be super bias when it comes to certain labels and writers, but I also have a big problem when it comes to songs that I really dislike. This ABBA has never been on my favourites list. Dancin Queen and Take A Chance On Me are probly all I can withstand from the Sweedish quartet. So can Dall Ora save it with his finger magic. Yes and No. In the end I was kinda torn in two by this song. Did my best to like it, but I hate the Mama Mia chorus. Sounds more suited for SCP or GGMs than Eurogrooves. What I did enjoy was the intro. It has all the same ingredients that made "Never Ending Story" and "Video Killed The Radio Star" such an instant classic. The riff could have used a little more power than speed. It actually reminds me of another song, but I can't recall right now. The melody in the verses is just allright and only works cuz of the aggressive guitars. It picks up a bit in the bridge and sounds especially nice because it kinda breaks away from the overall melody. Finally in Mama Mia's defence; the chorus sounds best when all the music is almost dropped as heard in the last verse. The song does have a lot of nice soundworlds to offsett my dislike to to the original, but not enough for it to become one of my Eurogrooves favourites. Maybe if Chris Stanton sung it? Haha! I'm obviously kidding :!: ,but seriously the other labels did better at least with one of thier entries. Even that Y&Oc label.
7-/10

4. Dave Rodgers- Love In The Elevator(ABEATC)
when I first saw this title I thought, hot damn! An Aerosmith cover, but that does not turn out to be the case for this song. Is that a bad thing? Not at all, since this turns out to be one hot number in the end . First we get a nice rock influenced intro, complete with a drum solo entrance much like in Maid Attack. Soon Dave turns on the guitars and samples his vocals in the "We're' making love" part that honestly at TIMEs sounds like "Women Can Love" and it's those guitars that add that much needed aggressive vibe onto ABeatC's intros. By the TIME the riff kicks in we are gracefully taken back into the era when ABeatC had some amazing riffs. songs. We are further taken back to that TIME when Dave sarts singing. He sounds great nowadays. His vocals don't sound too forced at all. maybe he quit smoking? Really; on this track and Burning with Fire, he sounds years younger. The melody in the verses bridge and chorus all stay tru to the songs theme,as they are all laced with that same sexy ingredient that Dave uses in his vocals....and how sex filled does that third verse sound when the music is dropped in the chorus. This is the ABEATC I'm used to. Now we get a full on guitar laced break that finally leads us onto the last chorus. Even the outro is dead on 90's ABEATC. Best Track so far. Oh ,but there are more gems to be discovered.
10/10

5. DELTA Queens- Bye Bye Tokyo(DELTA)
BOOM BOOM Sexy Lady...oh wait a minuite wrong song. :D This is really a huge reason , I love this song even more. DELTA Queens have allways been a favourite act of mine since the Alpha of DELTA. The title turns out to be really decieving as this is not a sad song at all. At first sample I like Queen 26's song better , but at full throttle this track blows the cutness of that one away, with its mad aggresssive speed that Newfield excels in. It has been labeld Hello Hello part two. Sure why not? That was a stellar sounding Eurobeat theme that still haunts my mind wit it's simple but poweful style. This one follows the Eurobeat formula more closely, but at the same TIME leaves the listener with the urge to get up and do some Para para dancing him/herself. It goes by pretty fast like some Hi Energy rollorcoaster ride and if you blink ,you'll have to replay....and that I think was Newfield's whole idea of the song. Since everyTIME you repeat it, you end up becomming more addicted. One thought, did anyone else find themselves with the urge to say "Imagine" at the start of the intro and break? I swear I got a heavy Jay Lehr vibe, except on speed :D Comon how can you not love DELTA on this cd.
10/10

6. Jay Lehr- Bright TIME(SCP)
Now we get two SCP jams in the row. This latest Jay Lehr track is a blast to the past to his identical style of I'm Alive. It showcases one of SCPs best intros to date. Something right from A Rick Astly 80's song. I still say SCP should stick to this sound more often. This is another one of those tracks that immediately shines thru it's uplifting keyboard riff. Now come the verse. Some say they are lacking energy, but that's not the case at all. This is another sexy sung male song that while you might think it lacks energy, is really oozing of energy in way the continuous keys are being played ...and what's more sexy than "ouph"? What ever the heck it means, it sounds fricking hot and goes perfectly inserted at the end of each line of the verses and chorus. This song also has a proper break. All these wonderfull parts of a Eurobeat song, actually makes me kinda sad to see them go Nonstop after this cd. In closing ,I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jay Lehr is the best act to imerge from SCP since Lisa Lion. Ultra amazing song!, but wait ,there is still one that is slightly better...
10+/10

8. April- Hanami(SCP)
I was sad to see thst this wasn't another Eurogroove track. I was hoping April was Elena's new improved alias over Alexis..but anyway back to thios SCP entry. The first thing that stands out, and not at all in a good way, are the gut wrenching chipmunked hyped vocals of what many suspect to be Ai Yamamotto. Sorry ,but this effect does not work for SCP. HRG Attack is another story, since there songs are usually mega fast in the synth department, but accompanying slower SCP synths, April just sounds like a kid. Pity cuz the song has a lot of nice igredients, esp the riff which gives me a nice pleasant 80's feel. Note to SCP: Ai's vocals are really nice when not alternated, please do away with the helium on her next song :P
0 points for vocals; 8 for music= 7-/10

9. Futura- Give Me Sunshine(ABeatC)
We get our secong ABeatC entry out of three on this cd. Dave must have been ecstatic to hear this. I don't know about the rest of you, but I hear a speeded up Norma Sheffield song. Even her accent kinda resembles hers. The reason that I like the song even more? I say yes. This ABEATC entry is actually mega fast concidering thier female sung songs. The riff is what really got my attention. It's not strong soundworlds; not by a long shot, but is played in a way that spells out speed and power. Two ingredients ABEATC's 2009 entries were lacking. Now I get small raw piano insertions here and there throughout the chorus, which further makes me believe we are indeed treated to Norma Sheffields hyper persona. For what ever reason; being the speed, vocals or just the uplifting, but powerful melody; the song works on all Eurobeat levels.
8-/10

10. Starkly Ice- Stargate(HRG AttacK)
What we have here is the diamond in the rough of the cd. Seriously , this track sounds so much unlike the HRG Attack of today. It would have fit nicely onto the older Italo Eurobeat sound that AVEX is planning to bring back. I assume us fans who like Mddy Layne- Joy & Sorrow and Ciao Ciao- Running Over The Night, immediatly recognized Live Music studio's slower romantic sound. This round there is no chaotic vibe, but rather soothing Eurobeat soundworlds that go hand in hand with the line Stargate to Heaven. I could easily imagine Claudio Mgnani singing this one back when Accantino and Rimonti wrote for TIME. In fact a song like this shows that even the most frantic of Eurobeat labels will easily win thier monthly spot in the slower Italo sounding AVEX series. Needless to say, it's my favourite song on the cd and here is why.
intro: Wonderful accapella intro showcasing Starkly's vocals laced with a nice spacy Eurobeat sounding soundworld in the opening synths.
Riff: As I mentioned,a soothing 90's like HRG Attack synth progression that is relaxing , but at the same TIME powerful enuff to introduce Starkly's vocals.
Verses: Starkly is singing in the same fasion as Jay Lehr did in Bright TIME. Nonaggressive, and with much sex appeal. They also made the right choice to mix away the femal backing vocals at a lower volume so as to let M. Ice really shine.
Bridge: Again, only using the femal backing vocals in the second line was a very wise decision to keep the mellow vibe alive. Plus that last line of "You look too sensual" is the best close for a bridge that I can think of.
Chorus: "Blue Sky stargate to find your love" are the first lines and perfectly used for a male aishu song. The potion in your heart line shows that HRG can really dream up some wonderful lyrics.
Vocals: Doesn't sound like Rick Castle, so is he new vocalist? Eitherway, I hope to hear much much more of Starkly. I even thought for a moment or two, could it be Nick Festari singing in his normal tone?
Break: short but sweet. It isn't the legnth, but rather all the soundworlds they insert into the 30 sec part are so amazing. You get Starkly's vocals sampled over an ultra "Spacy" soundworld. It actually sounds like someone gets sucked into a Stargate as the last chorus kicks in....and look at that a 5 minuit HRG Attack song. It's been a while guys, but thanks.
Hey, the last TIME I did this extended review for a song was for Chris Stanton's - A Perfect Hero and this is definatley the equivalent ,but for HRG Attack.
10++++/10

11. Queen 26- Upside Down(DELTA)
and from HRG Attack we are sucked out of that lovely Stargate and thrown into DELTA world of mega fast aggressive sounds. OHHWEEE another accapella intro. I utterly love these accapella intros. We even get a cool whistle effect. Now it sounds like a spoken verse from Queenie. So far this one is sounding great. reminds me of Popcorns & Sex. I always think of Queen 26 as cute and sexy and that is one hell of a combo for any girl, so here is sounds great. This is a Newfield/Moroni collaboration that quickly shot me back to the Boom Boom Girl days. This is yet another song that if you stop to check that MSN message, you are gonna miss, so you are gonna have to hit that repeat once more and become gradually addicted to the song. I also don't know this other track some of you say that DELTA ripped off, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the original, just Queen 26's vocals alone. To me this is what I concider "Delicious" especailly her cutesexy little screams. Chalk another win for Newfield!
9/10

12. Rich Hard- Pirates(ABEATC)
Hot damn! the third ABEATC entry and this one is smoking hot. I didn't think Dave would top himself, but he did. Actually this track is written by different writers, so I don't know what's up, but they hit the bullside with this new Rich Hard. I remeber when I was hoping this too be a Eurogrooves track, but frankly I believe ABEATC did about as a stellar job that any label can do. Let's look at the theme: Pirates! So far away form Eurobeat as one can get, but at the same TIME I beleive it's just that theme that caused this gem to be bourne. We get this watery intro like Hurricane Man did on SEB 195, but added are this synth soundworlds that almost sound more like lasers than actual synths. A soundworld I am immensly enjoying throughout this track. It's also very fast in bpms and prefectly glides with Rich's vocals. He has a very cool as yet undefined vocals, but work perferct with his hard accent. especially on this Pirates themed song. He almsot sounds like a wraped Giancarlo Pasquinni. I said almost. I hear this most in the bridge, and even more in the chorus when he says words like Dancing. I sure would like to know more about this vocalist. The chorus is one of the most important aspects of a Eurobeat song and the one that tells me if it has singalong factor or not. This one definately has that and with special emphasize on that woah woah woah part. Another immediately stand out is the third verse where ABEATC is known for dropping most of it's instruments. Every raw soundworld is heard and appreciated up untill that intensifying almost saloon style sounding piano solo. This is the actual break of the song and sounds even better cuz it wasn't used in the intro, but rather saved for introducing that last chorus. I can't get over the fact how much Rich sounds like Dave in the bridge and chorus. Another amazing entry form ABEATC and could be there best song for this year. I just hope Rich Hard isn't a one shot wonder?
10+/10

13. Tora- King & Queen(classic Mix)(Sinclaire Style)
This cd really did wonders for me up untill this song shows up. It's a song that never should have been touched. First off the original had Elena Ferreti as one half vocals, and on this remake she isn't even present. Second is soundworlds. I don't particularly care for this hyper high instruments Sinaclaire uses. The robotic and snare drum effects sound techno more than Eurobeat and that's another hard downfall for me. The whole percussion from the original has been warped into some half crap club sounding mess, which is the whole reason I despise techno. Sorry, but this song is a full on Train wreck and just when I was starting to enjoy some of Sinclaire's newer productions. Argh! the black sheep of the cd. This will go in the Eurobeat songs that make your ears bleed. How in the world can one even begin to compare the smoothness and vocals the original had to this mess is beyond me.
4/10

14. Giorgia V.- Shot Shot Shot(GGMs)
Oddly enough GGMs is here to save the day. This song is all kinds of HOT HOT HOT! The intro with it's snapshot effects is excatly showcases what I expected from this song. Is it me or is GGMs starting to develope a love for DOA melodies like in HRG Attack songs? Just listen to the melody in the verses and tell em otherwise. What's great about this song is that is reverts from a aggressive DOA melody in the verses to more GGMs feel in the bridge like Domino would use, but then back to an aggressive vibe in the chorus. I acvtually thought the song was about shooting when I first heard the sample, but it turns out to be about Giorga's photo session. I remeber liking Race Queen, but it had softer airy soundworlds. This one blows that song out of the water and Giorgia sounds better than ever. Her accent ,which isn't really my favourite aspect of her vocals sounds more subdued and what we have now are Mrs Vechinni's more defined vocals that could prove to be really awesome with TIME. I would really like to hear more of Giorgia singing in this style...and GGMs is sounding better than ever :D
10/10

Ahh what an outstanding cd. Almost all the labels did an outstanding job. ABEATC really took top honours on this cd with three great entries and Dave is sounding and writing better than ever. DELTA a close second with thier mega fast catchy music. Eurogrooves had a bit of a snag, but that's because I don't like the original to begin with. Both SCP and HRG provide the best songs on the cd and both Giorgia V. and Domino sounded great on this cd. Kudos for DIma for taking honours as both male and female vocals and sounding awesome with the most Italo flavoured track on the cd.

It's a shame we are getteing nonstop crap for quite a few months, but at least AVEX ends the SEB extended formatt with a bang or should I say a "Snap" This could easily have been one of my favourites if it wasn't for the KIng & Queen remix, wich oddly enough ,in it's original form is one of my favourite ABEATC trax ao all TIME. Anyway, If AVEX does decide to go back to the slower 90's Eurobeat, than I'm hoping for songs like Stargate, Bright TIME, Tonigh Tonight and Dall Ora's Discoish vibe style

Top three.

1.Starkly ICe- Stargate
2. Jay Lehr- Bright TIME
3. Rich Hard- Pirates

Not 100% sure. more like 50/50. I base it alot on the style of music accompanying her, but whoever she is, I'm sure she would sound a lot better without the helium injection :P

Totally agree with you on the bolded parts. Apparently, It seems like I am not the only one who kinda thinks this way whenever I listen to Upside Down.

To add on, The whole song just kinda shakes me up for some reason, In a good way though, Queen 26 just sounds too sexy in this song.
