Heck, they're still giving us the same amount of new material, and who knows if they're not gonna be releasing it in Extended format as bonus material after SEB 200?

This whole boycott idea seems really far fetched, to me at least.

People seem to forget that's the most important part. Regardless of whether you think the labels should sell all their tracks on extended in high quality on *insert music shop site here* we still have to support them where their main source of income is.

This may come as a shock, but Super Eurobeat is not the only means if you want to support the labels fiscally. I may not like HRG much, but I bought two of their digital albums a few days ago because they're doing the right thing by their international fans. Saifam, too. I would've said the same for Delta, but well...

SEB is an entirely different matter. I'd rather Avex terminate the SEB series through lack of funds than let these tyrannical changes continue. And if I recall correctly, didn't Jayveemon say that some of the labels spurred on Avex to implement these changes? I will not funnel my earnings through Avex to be siphoned off to labels who possibly encouraged these horrendous revamps to the series.

At the end of the day, you're just as accountable as Avex for these stupid changes if you continue supporting them. I'm well aware this will hurt the labels somewhat, but that's what has to give in a situation like this.

First, you've conveniently failed to mention the changes to mu-mo, Delta's removal from various digital mediums and Avex trying their absolute hardest to frustrate, upset and annoy anybody living outside of Japan (i.e., restricting the artist albums to the iTunes Japan store). Next time, consider reviewing all the changes Avex has made in the past few months—not just the non-stops—before lashing out and calling the entire boycott 'far fetched'; it's clear that you have not read much into this at all.

Second, the new material that is on SEB197 will only be 25-35 minutes long. For the new price of nearly 2500 yen plus shipping, I feel I'm not getting my money's worth. Say we all follow your presumption that the new material will be released as extendeds later on (unlikely)...to me, that only acts as a further deterrent to purchase SEB197.

N.B. Keep in mind that I own nearly 40 SEB albums, yet do not own a single XX0 album because I don't care for non-stops. I still would've opted against buying SEB197 had it been an extended/SEB-edit compilation for the aforementioned reasons.

I purchased this album and I must say I really hope all the songs on there get a routine eventually or all are kinda "meh" to me (so it turns out to be more of a listening to CD then a CD I pay attention to) or else I'm going to be annoyed. =\

I originally started buying SEB in the first place because I was sick of hearing a few seconds of the next song in non-stop mixes.

I'm the type of person who will find a song they really like and listen to that one song for 20 times in a row before switching to another song. >_>; So non-stop mixes don't quite work for me. =\ Unless I'm doing parapara (even then, non-stop mixes don't always work for me for that either, since I like dancing the same routine a few times, using the extendeds...XP)

I know that the non-stop mixes aren't going to be for ever, but between the other non-stop mix series they have (and I'm going to go ahead and include Chozen Parapara!! in this, despite it's more than just Eurobeat), why exactly did Avex have to throw in another? XP The only thing I could even think that the non-stop mixes would be good for is preparing the parapara boom, but that's it. I don't know - maybe the non-stop mixes will be doing something for Japan. *shrugs*

...all I need to say, to each his own. XP For those who don't like non-stop mixes, don't buy unless you want to hear mixed (as in old and new) Eurobeat. For those who do, then buy. For those who don't care, it's up to you to decide. *shrugs*

FYI I read the boards, I know what you're reffering to and I respect your choice of personally not supporting Avex. All I'm saying is that I don't find the temporary format for the forthcoming road to SEB albums to be a valid argument to justify any kind of boycott.

Like I said, it seems to me like a good way to recap as much as possible of the whole SEB series to celebrate SEB 200 and the next boom like it should be.

And yes, I personally find that this whole mass boycott idea is far fetched, live with it please.

Well I certainly didn't mean to say labels asked for it to be available only in Japan but to imply that a certain well loved label's actions is the reason why there was no worldwide release of SEB on iTunes

Ahhh... I thought it was the former too, but I guess that's the nature of discussion on the internet.

I totally agree with Jay, here. AVEX has been screwing with us for someTIME now, so I not surprised thay have totally bend us over with this decision-

Anyway you slice it, AVEX have gotten too big for thier britches. The way they like to control the labels is beyond unfair. I can just see them now telling the labels to next TIME read between the lines before posting thier stuff on Juno and itunes. It's like they constantly forgetting that without the Eurobeat labels creating the music, there would be no Eurobeat to begin with....yes it does seem like they have some sort of Domination fetish over the world. Fisrt they give us a taste of SEB extendeds on Mumo ,then they take it away? Then there was the whole fiasco with TIME over "Iron Man", then thier constant whining on Youtube about snippets for Parapara videos. They are snippets for goodness sake. Now Itunes and Juno are under attack. When such drastic and eratic cahnges and decisions occur, it can only mean that AVEX themselves are afraid of losing control of Eurobeat.
I say that if there is another individual or company out there who would like to step up to the plate, Do it! Anything is better then the way AVEX runs things right now.

XP Might I inquiry not everything just eurobeat related - some of it has to do with J-Pop in general? The move from mu-mo.net to Mora(win) and the removal of everything Avex from international iTunes is a general Avex move, not just exclusively Eurobeat.

Seriously, I have enough of a problem with Avex butchering 13 new songs into a megamix.

But what you need to remember is that this is not JUST about Avex going megamix-only with their own releases. This is, very crucially, about them going out of their way to make it excrutiatingly hard for anyone non-Japanese to buy these tracks in extended form online. This about their draconian attacks on labels daring to upload their music to iTunes and Juno. This is about the way they hold any fan in the community who uploads parapara videos with parts of their songs, in complete contempt.

And I've no idea why people are assuming that Avex will ever release these songs extended on another album.

You're basically supporting Avex in spite of the fact that, basically, they've given you every reason to believe they just don't like you.

That's like a friend telling you "I really hate your guts, and I never want to see you again" and you simply rolling over and saying "it's OK, I still like you anyway, and I'll still come hang out with you".

Face up to the facts - you're letting Avex get away with whatever it wants, saying you'll still support it financially because you can't bear to let your precious labels (who, by the way, care most of all about earning a living, not about your unabated loyalty) think that you won't buy their music anymore.

If you let someone get away with anything they want, they'll keep fleecing you again and again down the line.

I, for one, am not in the habit of paying a company who gives me less, or even nothing at all.

So, no, this boycott is not over the top. If you want to support Avex, a company who: hates fan videos, hates its OWN LABELS posting PROMOTIONAL videos, hates its own labels offering paid downloads (even though it failed to do so for them), hates you for being non-Japanese and therefore 99% likely to be a pirate, hates you enough that it shafts you on new material by only releasing it in megamix form on the MAINSTREAM SEB series - then you go right ahead and fork over your money.

And I hope you're happy when Avex really shafts you. Because YOU paid for it to happen.

I was gonna go for "Avoid Avex" personally Had a nicer ring to it, but yours works well enough. Maybe have a "No Extendeds, No Purchase!" banner?
