Regardless of how someone gets into eurobeat, it doesn't make one less dedicated as a fan. Unfortunately, most international listeners had to get exposure to those things to get into the genre.

Opportunities are much wider now to catch up the genre and all what it offered, if all fans only would want or be aware that Eurobeat in Japan been much more than "those things". I believe the sale would be better too.

Holy shit I am so glad I am not the only person who is extremely frustrated about this.

The fact that Eurobeat has been incorporated into the toxic nuclear waste dump called modern day internet meme culture upsets me no end. I can't even enjoy that song anymore! That was one of my favorite songs by Manuel and now it's ruined for me.

I go on Youtube to listen to it real quick and see kids posting shit about Hitler in the comments and I want to die.

I don't blame Manuel for getting upset about it.

You can't imagine how angry I get when I see people on the Internet treating Eurobeat like it's some hot new meme bullshit, as someone who has been in the scene for as long as the meme kids have been alive, even.

First off, a meme should not bother you to the point you can't even listen to a song. What memes are everyone talking about anyway? I only see the one's that pop up on Arren's page.

ParaPara is a performance of a few special dancers, while all club in fact is sitting or dancing freestyle on the dancefloor like in every country. ParaPara it's not freaky holy duty, sticky way to enjoy, to introduce each one Eurobeat song by every ordinary fan. But I feel it really is since it left Japan and flooded internet...

I doubt you can certify for so many international ParaPara fans, from North and South America, that they all collect CDs, posters, interviews with artists, instead of collecting tons of videos of their dancing friends... !

The same for Anime soundtrack, selected Eurobeat material for cartoons isn't tantamount to whole genre and getting to know artists and music, no matter how you got into...

The task of fan clubs is or was to connect audience and artists, not exclusively fans between themselves in closed group. Why Eurobeat should be different ?

First show me what famous band, what genre is presented, enjoyed this way like Eurobeat now by hundreds of people outside Japan, when simultaneously has low popularity as a product for sale and to listen, where artists aren't on the top as performers and producers. The excuse of promotion only in Japan isn't actual anymore.

If a fan doesn't have the relation with artists, their image, life, career, he is not willing to pay for music and so on.

I don't think a true Eurobeat fan is a "collector". A true eurobeat fan is someone that, at 2017, still listening to eurobeat on a daily basis.

That doesn't happen only in Brazil. Many countries have the same difficulty.

Most of my friends listen to Eurobeat, daily. And almost all of them didn't buy a SINGLE song in their entire lives. They listen on the youtube, on streaming services like Deezer(It's free for TIM, a mobile telephone provider) or Spotify, or just ask someone. They can't spend money on this. They are struggling to live. And struggling to make Eurobeat/Para Para happen here, creating content as cheap as possible.

So, please, stop this non-sense of "collecting CDs, Posters, interviews is what made true eurobeat fans". Isn't that difficult to have just a little of empathy. This isn't about "collecting videos of our dancing friends".

What I am having trouble understanding with Crockett's speech is how some fans seem to be above others. Better fans. At least that's how it ends up sounding. This has never been a race or a competition, if we like eurobeat then what makes any of us any better. Spending more money equals a higher standing on some ranking chart? Yes, it pays the bills of the artists. Or at least partially, knowing how niche of a genre this is, it's still not something you have to enforce on people. Everyone has their subjective status and situation of life.

But i agree with this. It's not ParaPara duty. I know a lot of people who knows eurobeat by other means, not just ParaPara.
I learned about Eurobeat from Initial D, Games, Memes and THEN ParaPara.

Arren's memes are on a complete different level. I totally value his work. But look at the comment section of any international car fan page like Carthrottle or something like that. It's always the same jokes containing the same three or four songs. These are also the people who upload Gas Gas Gas a million times and completely ignore than Manuel has written other songs too.

I don't agree with one word - non-sense. Like every genre and market, also this on the closed area of Japan provided much more than limited point of view, which for Eurobeat is Anime and ParaPara. Photos, posters, magazines, interviews aren't non-sense, but the natural extras keep fans interest, making encouragement to buy CDs or attending in events.

Sure, don't spend fortune, don't pay taxes, but don't call obvious in music stuff non-sense. Eurobeat has the problem worldwide, because been too much isolated.

Yes, we shouldn't feel better or worse, but should others feel weird, that they prefer and represent the standard standpoint on music ?

I do understand artists and labels need much more love and support than we know they get actually.

It's non-sense "grading fans" if we don't considerate the social-economic context, like you said, the "personal/group situation".
But I do agree, I think Eurobeat must know new ways to promote itself.
And that's why i don't understand Avex. Since it's Avex the one who it's forcing ParaPara as the main way of promoting eurobeat in Japan. And it's the one who is enforcing strict rules on music production.

It seems to me that collecting records became too serious term.

That doesn't mean another kind of non-sense - spending money for pleasure.

Eurobeat was, perhaps still is so well releasing than anywhere. The quality of music is so important and how curious are the japanese editions.

I don't know what is your requirement, but at first we're looking for acceptable shape and cheap price.

Collecting doesn't have to be obsession in having OBI strip etc.

I'm certain this probably upset Manuel for obvious reasons. It's not just on this Youtube video. Almost every upload of Manuel's song has references to the Holocaust, Nazi Germany, or Hitler in it. Look at the comments.

So this is what these neo-fascist nazi-loving teenagers on the Internet are doing these days, and as you might guess, it's upsetting. I don't want nazi frogs and Hitler to be associated with my favorite music, especially since I'm opposed to this disturbing trend of Nazi worship that's so popular on the Internet presently.

It's bad enough that Eurobeat is obscure, but having kids assume that it's funny to interlace Nazi crap on our music is just the worst. Thankfully they don't seem to know about the rest of it.

I'm particularly sore because I really liked that song. I had all the remixes of it.
