Does no-one else hear the Manuel-stylings in "Into The Sunrise's" chorus? I'm surprised that my comment hasn't hit home with other people, as to me it's soooo clear. I miss Manuel so much
For me Manuel was never that great at ABeatC , so I don't exactly pickup on what you say.The only track that comes to mind is "Sun In The Rain" and my favourite "All The Best". I started really enjoying Manuel's material at Dima and Go Go's. Give me an example of one of those to hear those siniliarities you speak of.

I'm also a bit surprised that noone picked up on that somewhat early Vibration sound that Belight's song has. Particulalry the Dominique Pratt songs, like Always On My Mind. From the looks of it, I'm proly the only member who will enjoy "Tonight In Paradise" :)

4 more days and I can hear the disc in full ....and just in TIME for a weekend review :D

Manuel was always my favourite A-Beat C male vocalist. The dynamism of the rhythms that all of his songs had was amazing!

If you listen to the chorus of "Let's Go, Come On" from SEB 149, the will hear how similar in style the rhythms are in the line "don't forget that I like you" and "can't you feel my desire" from Into The Sunrise. It's the rhythm stylings more that anything that really link in my head ;)

And what about "Big Boy" by Manuel? That's like my favorite of his under A-Beat-C

Yeah, Big Boy was awesome, but for me he never ever beat the awesomeness of No Control. That was when he reached his pinnacle at A-Beat C and I really wish he was back every time I hear that song :(

Adrenaline is another absolute classic. Totally underrated song.

Indeed it was a classic. More than any other male Eurobeat vocalist, he's the one I miss the most. If only him and Pamsy could re-join the ranks, I would be in absolute heaven! :?

The interesting things about this album compared to the previous two releases is that this is the only one that has started to sound better and better after repeated listens. There are just a few exceptions - the Belight track still doesn't capture me at all. It's such typical SCP filler material that I instantly skip it sadly. The Stephy track also isn't lighting me up either, and the Tanith & Dark Evil track is also starting to grate (didn't think it would be long until that happened.

All other tracks are either improving with each listen or maintain their strong initial impression (especially the Rich Hard, Dave Rodgers and Lilly track - they are quickly becoming my most played tracks from the album ;))

Also, I played the intro and main hook to Crazy Little Love to one of my friends who hates Eurobeat but who loves Eurodance/Commercial trance/Hand-up etc., and he went crazy for it! He wasn't impressed with the vocals (not enough presence for his tastes) but he thought the production and synth selections was excellent. So Eurobeat can find new fans with the right song ;)

His songs were the favorite of many a listener. It's a shame that the split at A-Beat C & Go Go's happened because his best material was under Dave & Oliva's production team. That's not to say his stuff at Go Go's was bad but it was no where near as good as his stuff at A-Beat C.

I feel like that his best days were under A-Beat-C and Go Go's Music. Let's Go, Come On, Big Boy, No Control, Countdown To Destination and, to an extent (imo), Sun In The Rain were his A-Beat-C Greatest Hits. Being in Initial D helped a whole lot too... 4th Stage was probably, to a lot of the fans, the best season with the first one.

On Go Go's Music, I feel like "Ready Steady Go!" and "Gas Gas Gas" were the best. Adrenaline was OK too.

However, his tracks with Dima weren't that memorable. I think many of us would like him to go back with Dave, even if Sandro isn't with him anymore.

My heavy replay of this album:

I actually wish he would write another one with Dima. All Is Magic and Mad Man showed a lot of versatility music wise.

speaking of Manuel did he sing other songs under a different alias?

Yep, for me, Limousine is his best Go-Go's track by far. The Dima tracks were fine but didn't have the same feel as the A-Beat C or Go-Go's tracks.

Anyway, back to SEB 223 (kinda feel responsible for making this thread go off-topic, but glad that so many people have fond memories of Manuel too :x)

Limousine is awesomely produced, but the chorus is a little haphazard and ugly, much like Nighttrain. Adrenaline is easily his best Go's Go's song in my opinion, even though Gas Gas Gas blew me away during my teen years, way back when Go 2 was my favorite eurobeat act and melodic dynamic wasn't as much of a priority for me.

As for A-Beat C, I can agree No Control is his best song, with Big Boy and What You Need following up from the rear.

Not sure how this off-topic Manuel discussion started but I am very surprised by how little discussion this album has generated. Is it a sign that this album was a big flop?

Having not listened to any of these songs in the past week myself, I am probably right to say now that this is the worst SEB album that I have ever listened to (even worse than 167). There are no truly awful songs on 223 but all of them except perhaps 1 or 2 are... bland. I have no other way to describe them. I find myself going back to some of the songs on 222 and I did not consider that to be a great album either. Interested to hear if anybody is still seriously listening to this album or if it is just me who feels that this album is one of the least interesting in the whole series.

By the way, to weigh in on the Manuel discussion, his best days were easily at A-Beat C in my opinion. I enjoyed every single one of his songs at that label without exception. I also find it interesting to hear how so many people liked 'Nightrain' and 'Limousine'; personally, I think those two songs are his worst. Both of them are awfully produced and his singing sounds so unnatural, overdramatic and irksome. I had always felt that Manuel was losing his passion for singing eurobeat since 'Adrenaline' was released on 186. I could say the same for Pamsy too, but that's opening another can of worms.

While I do miss both Manuel and Pamsy, I feel that both of them jumped the SEB ship at the right time.

If you saw my comments about the album a few posts back, you would know that I love listening to 223, the only track I have completely abstained from listening to altogether was Belight's. Still, it's a great compilation as compared to 222, which IMHO, is the worst SEB album in a long while (I never cared for that album after I wrote a review about it)
