not eurobeat.

2 tumbs down....
It IS eurobeat. 142 BPM, Trance sounds, yes - in fact, SCP loves to use Trance sounds to make Eurobeat - but the effect that the song uses, the vocal arrangement, etc makes it eurobeat. If you think that it's too slow to be Eurobeat, then check "I'm Alive" by Jay Lehr on SEB 181 which is 138 BPM... and still an excellent song!

Yo Shine was one of the best songs on 201.

I'll try to reply all in a single post..

Yo Shine: Not as much just the bpm, but overall..bpm, vocal style, arrangement. It has been excessivelly contemporalized, so as to say..
It resembles the stuff you find on Saifam eurodance/euro nrg comps.

Ken:
My view of the work is definetely more as good...
(half way to a full thumb up rating, perhaps)..
Track is bit unsofisticated, but retrobeat feel is a good touch.
Looking forward to seeing more of this artist on SEB releases.

Doc: It's usually a keeper for me if I like at least 4 tracks on it.
I rarely like more than that per SEB..
I think I presently still have about 130 SEB's (on Avex cd's) left,
so I may part with a good half of it in the future.

Yo Shine was the the top artist on the whole album. So what if it's not like the typical eurobeat production. Like the others said, SCP has the most varied sounds out of all the labels. They don't have to fit into a specific-to-the-tee style for it to be eurobeat. The tracks is playing nonstop in my car.

A few trax that were pending from my review. I really didn't miss anything here except Queen 26, maybe?

2. Power Of My Love by Yo Shine (SCP)
SCP really dropped the ball on this cd. Fastway's song was passable and this Yo Shine was even more terrible. It seems to be the pick of the cd by a high margin. One that I do not share in at all. I guess I'm with Vadim on this one. It's exactly the kind of track that I do not like from SCP. Transy and trying to hard to be commercialy accepted. The little "Heys" throughout the chorus are evn more annoying that the desperately sounding trying to be accepted title, Yo Shine. The only things I liked about the whole song was the melody in the bridge to the chorus, and that swift outro with the guitarbut the rest belongs in the "that song bites" pile. Irene should stick to songs like "Love is The Name Of Love" and leave this transy stuff to Pamsy...and no it doesn't sound or compare to anything from Jay lehr. Just no!
5/10

7. You Are My Wonder- Queen 26 (DELTA)
The title sounds impomplete. Reminds me of that artist name Luck The Nice from HRG Attack. Anyway, you are my wonder what? So it seems Capalbi produced this track. You can immediatley tell from the rehashed itro. Songs from Luke as well as Dark Secret Love, which is also Queen 26, all seem to share the same intro. I remeber when I first heard those effects in Turbo Disco, I was really impressed, but the time Champion came along, it all just seemed like overkill. Still it's the overall package that is the important thing...and the song is actually pretty catchy with it's uptempo chorus and riff. Could be Rizzi's riff that actually gives the song life? The other parts of the song ; verses and bridge go along a bit too fast to actually enjoy and kinda feel like they belong in another song. but in the end ,it's that chorus that's get me hyped, so it's a goog offering from DELTA. Not as good as Travis' song, but still enjoyable.
8-/10

Nathalie- Live It Up! (Sinclaire Style)
It seems Sinclaire is still trying te recreate that same emotion that Nite Of Fire had back in the day. The result is this new Nathalie song in 5 mins. it starts off with a rather amazing sounding intro, but soon the reverb is shot off the chart and it becomes typical Sinclaire Style. The song has some nice parts esp. the melody in the verses. The bridge is ok, but then comes the chorus. very uplifting? Yes, but also very repetitive. The riff sounds like unmistahable Sinclaire with it's mega fast fingerplay. Anyway, what this song has here is an amazing mini break. I say that, cuz it's too long to be a proper break, and really goes on till the end. It's also what gives the song a much needed boost. Overall it's a nice song ,but eons away anything he ever wrote for ,say Nando(hint.hint)
8-/10

I gave in and decided to purchase 201 after listening to the samples more. I haven't bought a eurobeat CD in some ridiculous amount of time, so why not?

I don't think this has been brought up in this topic yet, but has anybody else noticed that the riff in 'Never Ending Love' on Juno is vastly different compared to the SEB sample? I'm presuming the same riff in the sample was used on the CD. I wonder why? Go here if you want to listen to the Juno riff.

From what I've heard, the SEB riff is terrible and boring, and I'm not surprised people don't like this song much. The Juno riff makes the song feel much more upbeat.
