Too many repeats. Nippon Nippon again  Anyway, I really dug Dandy Candy Girl.

Mini review of the songs.

13. Doll Sisters- Candy Dandy Girl. I wonder who wrote this one? It's very different in melody and that riff really sounds original. I can't rcall another song with it. Who is singing? Who knows, but I love that fact that they use the Ciao Ciao method of multiple vocals. Really wonderful surprise for me. One question why such a short version? Does an extended even exsist? being the last song, I wonder if there was a chance it wouldn't even have been included :?
10/10

12 Jeff Driller - Super Trooper Warrior Boy. Jeff is sounding a lot like Claudio in the way he holds those notes and the way he sings "the night" I love that high octave vocals he uses. I guess it's Claudio cuz even the riff is Tam Arrow style. Could be one of my favourits ever. I havn't even mentioned the song. The line Super Trooper Warrior Boy is perfection all the way thru in the way it's sung ,in the melody surrounding it and the incredible riff following it. How this wasn't chosen for SEB baffels me to no end.
10/10

09 Tam Arrow - Come On Baby To My Gang. I knew this song would contain the words Bang Bang Bang in there somewhere. Claudio just seems to get the creme of the crop when it comes to HRG Attack material and the structure of his vocal style is so damn perfect for this kind of song, that it wouldn't work with any other vocalist.
9/10

01 Franz Tornado - El Coyote Funkallero- The first thing I thought was, this is odd for Franz title. The song's title makes me uneasy and I doubt I'll be singing along. The song it's self sounds mediocre compared to other Feddericco entries. This one just fall short in the riff, melody and even the vocals sound a bit forced. Not a hit for me.
7-/10

07 Tam Arrow - El Capitano Zorro. More Spanish words in Eurobeat. I think Spanish words sound good in Eurobeat in a romantic atmosphere, but in fast songs, I disagree. Tam sounds great and this song is miles above the Franz Tornado entry. The riff for one is fast and very catchy. Good melody around the verses and bridge and even the chorus works fine enough. A nice song, but not one of Tam's better songs.
7+/10

10 Jeff Driller - Pistol You Pistol Me. pretty cool intro gets off another Jeff Driller, but this TIME good old Feddericco does the vocals. Typical HRG Attack melody wich sounds better in songs like Lucy Loose Pussy, but still works better when compared to the last two songs I just heard. I also hear a very distinct rehash of Bandolero Camanchero, which had 10 x the power that this song has. The one thing that really stands out is the whistleing. that and the high pitched female pistol chanting during the break. I really love that and gives the song a half point higher
8/10

06 Bazooka Girl - The Class Of Velfarre. A very cool intro starts off this Bazzooka Girl song and I'm loving the melody as well, but then that riff sounds out of place, especially when placed next to such agressive melodies for the verses and bridge. The chorus also fall short for me in that I disagree that the words Class Of velfarre fit the structure of the molody and the vocals almost sound like chipmunks. Not a bad song, but it's not Money Funny Dollars.
7/10

11 Tam Arrow - Searching For The Hero In The Night. A very cool intro with evil laughing and aggressive guitars. Oh no.. Not digging that riff at all. Sounds like another song, but off in beats. Claudio also sounds odd in the way he has to sing the verses and was there a bridge? All of the sudden comes in this chorus that sounds from another song alltogether. Too poppy for me. No way. This song is a total mess. Worse of the bunch. Tam can do much much better. Even his vocals sound like his E.C. James persona or in HRG Attacks case; Bratt Protone, but I really don't like this song at all.
6-/10

The rest of the songs I allready had. The good thing is you can choose the songs you want. I hope Juno posts some of the other HRG Attack cds.

Wow, are you kidding? Ratings that low for most of the tracks on Tornado & Friends (especially Searching For The Hero In The Night)? :o

The other songs I allready have and like them alot, the ones that don't work for me are those Spanish title songs. They remind me of reggaton for some reason or thier techno counterparts and sound odd unless in romantic atmophere and I really didn't find anything reedeeming about Searching for a Hero... was that a Bonnie Tylor remake, cuz it's too different for HRG Attack style. The songs I really liked got the high grade treatment. For the recxord Beatman, Garcon and Bratt Protone all get 9-10's as well. :)

I was thinking the same way! :P

I first got this album when it came out, two years ago, and only this fall have I really thoroughly listened to it multiple times and let the songs grow on me.

The whole album is just amazing, maybe except el coyote funkallero, push ska babuska and venus.

I especially like come on baby to my gang, nel blu dipinto di blu and el capitano zorro.

2 years later the only song I really listen to from this CD is El Coyote Funkalero. The fact that 2 years later a lot of songs still sound like this helps further my point about HRG.
You can hate me but you know you have quality issues =p

I agree with Jorge, in the writing aspect but not production wise. They're using different synths/instruments for the most part now. Balalaika vodka and stuff can't even touch Searching For A Hero In The Night in terms of production (despite how much I love Balalaika).

I bet you would listen to them a lot more if you saw the routines for them... omg Dandy Candy Girl and El Coyote Funkallero are soooo fun :o The routines make the songs a lot better, along with Bandido Guy too.

You do realize the phenomenon of liking a song more when it has an awesome routine only actually applies to paralists :P

Woohoo. Finally, we're treated to more unreleased HRG stuff from the recent years.

The fact that you need to buy the entire release is deterring me from purchasing for now given the dreaded exchange rate, but judging from a couple of the samples, I'm quite impressed! "Turbo Power" by Cy-Ro and "Matrioska Niet Katiuska" by Mad Cow & The Nevskij Avenue Girls were especially cool.

As I expected, there were a few productions that weren't so stellar. For example, "Speed Control", if we disregard the disturbing fact that Speed McQueen is a guy, sounds as if it's still in the demo stage...I could imagine this sounding so much better if HRG spent more time on it. "Russian Gangsters" doesn't really do me justice either.

Overall, for the most part, my expectations were fulfilled.

Cool! Shame you have to download as full releases as I have too many of the songs to justify the cost at the moment, but a couple of the tracks sound really cool!

And Baby Bazooka's "Pagyaru" on The Trailblazers is basically a re-recording of Pagal from 192!! :P

Here are the tracklists for quick reference:

THE SPEED & THE FURIOUS

I can't commend Livemusicstudio anymore for this. I only had time to listen to The Speed And The Furious, but overall I'm really loving a lot of the material that's present. Standouts for me include Fast Cars In My Dreams, Turbo Power (mainly for the synth), and Wheels On Fire, but none of them come close to the likes of Race Speed And Fire - that sample sounds incredibly promising!

I'm looking forward to buying both albums once I get the chance.
