I could make out a list of SCP songs that sound alike, but rather than waste my TIME, I'll just to point, that if people would take the TIME and really listen to the songs, they would hear that they are indeed different in many aspects. Speed. Lyrical Tone, some even like "Magic Rainbow" break away from the usual Eurobeat formula. Sure they use the same intruments for Elena songs(signature sounds), but lately songs like Magyka and Erika are even adding in some Guitars wich give Elena's songs a more aggressive vibe. Thus making thier sond even more mega. The remakes are in no way a sign of lacking creative ability, but more a way of bringing the old classic into the 2000's

I have nothing against SCP as a whole, but some experimnets(as some have mentioned) tend to gear over to a more EuroBeat/Hypertechno fusion which sounds wierd and not at all Eurobeat.
As far as cd space is concerened, everyone remebers SEB 153 where SCP was given the spotlight of 6 songs? Sombody or maybe the fans didin't agree with that amount, so they were reduced again. I'll admit I liked every SCP song(except Christine), but obviously AVEX disagreed.

I myself would not mind 3 songs per label a cd. Time has only been given 1 more song per cd as of lately. I think it would be great to have 3 HRG Attack songs, 3 DELTA, 3 AbeatC 3 Go Go Music and Three SCP.

My main reason to respond to this thread is the thoughtless and pitless words people use by saying "drop labels" "F**k this and That" "S**T this & S**T that" I'll admit I surf many forums of Techno, Hip Hop and Top 40 and use language like that to express that kind of music, but I really HATE that music. So when I see those words expressed for Eurobeat, I wonder if you really are a fan at all(no pointing fingers) So label bashers IMOP are not Eurobeat fans. Grow up & enjoy the genre 8)

I think you should know the majority of here isn't the majority of fans
in Japan where majority part of the cds are consumed.8)
We never see the TIME singers promote themselves like A-BEAT C, DELTA, SCP, or HI-NRG ATTACK.
But Mr. Dall'Ora is promoting them in his own way. Look what's in his hand.
lol :D

I already noticed that at lease a year ago, so I always skip them
after step 2. lmao

Finally, wise words in this discussion! People here have the biggest mouth, but are certainly the minority of eurobeat listeners. AVEX people know what they're doing, otherwise there wouldn't be 181 volumes of 1 compilation series.
But Mr. Dall'Ora is promoting them in his own way. Look what's in his hand.

Seriously, that's the best thing about Eurobeat, it's a constant slow progression and evolution of a genre. That's the reason why I still love it and yet it's the same reasona lot of people fall out of love with it. To each their own :P

Got a couple of questions. This might be geared to those who know a little about instruments.

On Mega NRG Man's - Catch My Fire, There are a lot of different percusion effects. One in particular gives the song a "ping Pong" effect. In fact I renamned the "ping pong" song in my review. Who can tell what is name of this instrument. It's used a lot like in the old ASIA hit "Macho Man- Mr Black. Also in the chorus, right aftre he sings "fire" a sort of "Cowbell" effect is played and kinda sounds like an SOS message. Again, what's the name of this instrument. Maybe some of you recall these effects used alot in Older Eurobeat, but at slower bpm's? Anyway, maybe some huge ABeatC fan familar with Thier studio can answer, or maybe even Giancarlo himself? :) Thanks in advance.

FAVORITES: Abracadabra, I'm Alive

LEAST FAVORITE: Gunfire

Overall: 3.06/5

* I miss Karen, Norma & Elena Gobbi. (And of course, Dave!) And Gambogi.

1. Jungle Fever - Marko Polo - 3/5
The roars are kinda silly, no? I love the synth lines though, and the end drum section. This song sounds like Delta being Hi NRG Attack. Kinda fun.

2. Blood on Fire - Go 2 & Christine - 4/5
A winner. Techno-ish. Love the snare. Love the rap. Chorus is good, as well as slow prechorus and long buildup. The descending string line is very nice and offbeat.

3. My Heart Radio - Daniel - 2/5
The voice is kinda womanly or something. I like Clara's backgrounds. The end holds out... interesting vocal idea. Not really my thing.

4. Love Desire - Linda - 3/5
Jumps right in. Nice synths. Did Elena sing this before? It is a familiar song but the vocals sound different.

5. Back in Dangewr - Jeff Driller - 3/5
Synth and intro are good. Guitar accents and harmonies are solid. Very typical and solid.

6. Abracadabra - Cherry - 5/5
Dead on. Great job, Clara. Synth, intro, chorus, nice offbeat chorus start... perfect remake.

7. Beautiful - Alexis - 4/5
Time's typical piano intro is great. Synth is VERY familiar... Elena sure oves the words "Passion" and "Direction." Love the line "Love me like a toy!" She needs to learn how to pronounce "th." BUT I always love her voice.

8. Lovers in the Night - Chris Stanton - 2/5
Squeeky... has the Wheel of Fortune synth as I call it. Chorus sounds like another eurobeat song... Guitars are nice!

9. Take a Frame - Chris Stranton - 4/5
Funky Organ. Raspy voice, which I like. Slow and disco-ish. Prechorus is great. Synth is beautiful. Fadeouts are normally bad but this time it is OK...

10. I'm Alive - Jay Lehr - 5/5
DISCO! YES. Chorus is catchy. Chord progression is hot. Synth is bad ass. NICE JOB!

11. My Blue Sky - Nuage - 3/5
I realized what is lacking in many A Beat C tracks lately.... interesting percussion. it kinda just trudges on. I love the funky intro though! Is she taking a bath!? Vocals are nice. Chrous is only OK. Oh the bassline also sounds muddled.

12. True Colour - Annalise - 3/5
Spelled the proper way for a British lady! I like the intro - dripping rainstick. The synth is so boring. The percussion is also boring again. BUT she is screamy and I love that! What's up with the Annerley hating lately? Before Elena, Annerley was screaming her heart out all the time! She just needs good material to shine. I like the breakdown at the end. This one got stuck in my head, yay!

13. Over the Sky - Rose - 3/5
Piano of COURSE... lovely. A special synth. She sounds good... hmmmmm fadeout AGAIN?

14. Catch My Fire - Mega NRG Man - 2/5
Poppy. Love the snare. Chorus is only OK. Instrumental section is great. I'm aware of some vocal overlaps in the lead... hmmmm there should be some harmonies, no?

15. Dance - King & Queen - 2/5
Again, stop Annerley hating. She is talented and a wonderful addition to eurobeat. That being said, I do miss Elena Gobbi on this album. The chorus was chromatic and cool. The intro and bridge really rock. BUT the percussion is sooo boring. We need some more arabic instruments going on for this to be a standout rather than a filler.

16. Gunfire - Matt Land - 1/5
WEIRD intro. This song changes keys a lot and is fragmented. The synth is OK and the bridge is boring. Nope not my taste.

17.GAS GAS GAS - Manuel - 3/5
Guitar and synth are WOW so thick and impressive. I love "igneeeeeetion" HAHA.Call and response is nice and bridge rocks. Hmm... "Getchoooo?

18. NRG - Go 2 - 3/5
Another track from them? Lots of energy. Kinda rehashed but good. Techo-ish again... they are into that lately. I like when Christine sings too....

He He . They kinda sounded like HRG too on "Iron Man- Mark Astly. Remember the "Riff".

Lovers in the Night - Chris Stanton

kinda sounds like they wanna gear toward that sound? They were much better on "Funky Fun Lover" "Superstriker" and "Play Loud". No wierd Tech effects  , but the addition of Christine is nice.

Yay! Got my CD finally~

I don't really understand how some people are saying NRG sounds like Hyper Techno, the music imho isn't agressive enough to even sound like SCP Hyper Techno... It's still a great song.

Love Desire is a good remake, they really could've stuck with the same alias since it's the same singer... but I guess they haven't used Macho Gang in ages.

Other favs would be, Blood On Fire, Gas Gas Gas, Gunfire.

I kinda like Jungle Fever. reeeeowr XD

Oh DJ Shu, why use No One Sleep In Tokyo & Crazy For Love...

I've heard the version of Tora Tora Tora used on some megamixes, so it's nice to hear the full version.

Aww, I had both versions of Shake Me Up already :(

Well, at least the selection isn't as bad a Mitsugu

Hola,compadres!
Allah knows, 181 is one hell of a sour chord galore with enough boredom to get folks distracted even when El Presidente makes a speech.
Did them had a meetin' and agreed to suck and play crap on dat volume?
...Blood on tire....
On a side note, I do likes a HRG tune on it(Maddy Lane),it's like the only neat melody sticking out in that sad ass of a compilation. But,someone should keep Rimonti out of a mixing room, when they be mixing 'em vocals.Silly ass pitching should be panished harsher than stealing a towel in Istambul(and that is very harsh panishment, my friends...).

Now,the joy things..I played over and over Nuage tune *I wanna love*.
Now, that's really a tune worthy of her hot ass. It be fingerlickin' good.
While watching her delicius page on myspace,I kinda thought her boyfriend looks a bit like Dave Rodgers, or at least with that beginning of a goaty that he is sporting, that goaty being done in real DR manner.

I wanna hear good s.h.i.t. like *I wanna love* and *sakura*(recent Neufield's brilliant dance anthem). Make better tunes that have uplifting feel and killer melodies which entertain 'cause 'em japanese volumes be expensive for as regular folk and buying a new SEB compilation of carajo for 45 american pesso is no good.

Adios......ehhh huhhhhhhhh!

I beleive they are together or were for a TIME.

It's been a while since you appeared on the forum or was it that Horrible(IYO) SCP song that made you speak out :P . What was the last SEB you purchased. I actually thought it was pretty awesome, especially Chris Stanton, Jay Lehr and Elena Ferretti trax. 8)

Yeah,I likes to make an entrance...I come here like Zorro(and with no Mike Douglas's perused wife Zeta attached).

My view was actually affected by the rise of my expectations after successes in the 170-s. They all can do so much better, all the teams, no doubt about it. SCP had great stuff in 170-s,I could even forgive them that bubble-techno sound when they arrived at interesting and exciting melodies.
