I'm kinda confused. If the 14 trax is the mega mix consisting of 8 songs, then why do we regularly only get 13 trax, unless that mega mix is super short? I think we are getting screwed when we can clearly get at least 14 songs per cd. I know this is tru beacuse HRG, Saifam amd AbeatC barely break the 4:30 limit and back in the old days SEB had 12 songs at about 6:00 each song. I want my 14th song, instead of a megamix of the same songs

So this can't be a standard cd then? Why is there suddenly space for a mega mix after the regular 13 songs?

Maybe because you can actually fit 14 songs in less than a minute? : P

Let's assume each of the 13 tracks are 5 minutes in length (they normally average out at that nowadays). That would give us 65 minutes worth of extended tracks.
This then leaves 15 minutes at the end of the disc for a megamix of all the tracks, with each track having around 1 minute of exposure each. It's like what they do with the massive anniversary countdown just to showcase the tracks (although I fail to see the point personally).

My point is why did we only get 13 tracks on SEB 188 & 189 when we can clearly get 15 extendeds? If they are gonna start putting this megamixes at the end of the cd, I rather prefer 15 extene4d tracks in all. Case closed

i kinda like the mega mix idea, but 1 min per song would mean intro, amello b mellow chorus, then the next song, unless the verse structures are tiny or they only use 1/2 the chorus like they did in PPP2 popteen i dunno....looking forward to it those

Precisely - I see no reason to leave "blank space" on the disc, but I guess at the end of the day it's all about maximising profit, and if they can get away with 2 less tracks per disc, it means they'll make more money over the long term out of less songs. Makes sense from a business point of view, but perhaps not from a consumer perspective

I've come to really enjoy the new 13-track format, but if GGM is gonna have 2 songs per album now, I agree that more songs would be needed to effectively save room for Dima and Eurogrooves unless Avex actually bothered to lower the amount of A-Beat C tracks per CD as they did on 189.
