At this point I think the genre would be a million times more successful if all the labels, including the exclusively-owned ones, quit their contract with Avex and actually made a true effort to promote their music. Not just by releasing it separately, but by spreading word. I bet a compilation of at least fairly radio-friendly eurobeat would do just fine if it were released internationally; surely it wouldn't be a massive hit, but it would do okay.
I know it sounds naive to think that promoting eurobeat outside of a large company would be better, but at this point, Avex has become the primary enemy of everything.
I have to agree with you on that. I think it'd be more successful outside Japan as well, not just in those countries you mentioned, but in other places as well, with advertising towards the right target of people and more promotion (though, that's part of the problem - who exactly would they target? I'm assuming the masses - I have a few ideas on how to persuade America...but not other places..>_>). There's already a handful of songs produced by the Eurobeat labels that could easily air on the radio and become hits in various different places ("SUPER RIDER", for instance, could possibly make it as a [huge] hit - I'm basically quoting my mom on this, but I trust her for things like that (every song she's said would become a hit has become a hit on the radio...>_> So I have no reason to doubt her)).
I don't think you're naive thinking that. XP I'm thinking the same thing.
I think the labels could be even more successful if they came up with like...a mutual agreement and
helped each other, rather than competed. I don't mean take away complete competition, but kind of make competition work to promote each other...if that makes any sense (which it probably doesn't).
...and I think if the labels left Avex, I think there'd be more videos using their songs on Youtube (since Avex snatches down all the videos XP) = more free promotion of Eurobeat = more people wanting the songs = more people buying the songs of iTunes (for those who actually legally buy songs, at least). Or at least, it'd ideally work that way, I think.
...on the paralist side of things though, it'd suck if the labels left Avex, since parapara would be screwed. XD;; Maybe...or at least, parapara in Japan and overseas teams would be left up to creating their own dances. (I know a lot of you probably don't care about that, but as a paralist...yeah...)
I'm going to be writing an e-mail to Avex. I probably won't get a reply, but that's okay! I just hope they read it. *glances at notebook that has the e-mail's outline* Does anyone else have any issues that should be covered, besides from the Mu-mo.net to Mora, the removal of EM, the possibility of four non-stops in a row, and the possibility of 200 being slow Eurobeat? And is there anything that should be praised (as odd as that sounds, since I want to attempt to feed Avex ideas to successfully flourish their western Eurobeat fanbase, not demolish it, which they're doing right now), like the Special Collections (which really need to be in iTunes Plus...>_>)?
