Indeed... Me thinks, all neighborhood will be a runnin' when Pete is on a prowl for a new coat.
Yeah, SEB marketing is clearly not "gay". But SEB covers are usually just a good (or supposed to be good) looking model, where's the torture thing?
Check out the cover to SEB 168 in EP database. I am sleeping with my lights on tonight..

"I'm a cherry girl come and lick me quick
I'm a cherry girl and I need your stick
I'm a cherry girl that you wanna eat
I'm a cherry girl I'm hot"

"My love is still alive
My love is super-high
So you can't leave me now before I found your "love"
My love is still alive
My love is super-live
So you can't feel so tired 'cause I can make you fly"

I rest my case ;)

The covers are indeed orientated to hetrosexuals most of the time. But sometimes I really have my doubts about the taste of the designers... :

This just speaks out: OMFG! A truck just passed by at a 160km/h running through a puddle of mud

In contrast to the 12x~13x series covers. These are in my opinion the best. Especially this pretty woman:

Her hairstyle is just so cool! I love straight hair... Doesn't need to be long or short as long as it looks well to me :P

Definitely a lesbian girl looking for some strap-on ac...ahem, you know
(I hope there are no kids reading these posts)

As to the covers, Toni, why do you consider them heterosexual? I rarely see any sexual expressions on the covers, and certainly none that would say it's an explicitly heterosexual cover...what defines a heterosexual cover at all? SEB has women on each cover yes, but that's a theme they run - and we only have two genders, male or female, so it had to be one of them. It could just as well be marketed towards lesbians for all we know (no, I'm not saying it IS marketed towards them ;p).

Ah, I'm sorry I forgot about lesbians... Hmm, I hope no one is offended by this, but I was obliged to hang around with an über-gay the last few days in Berlin. Him constantly complaining about my way of dressing  So, that made me forget about the ladies... :?

Well, in anyway. The SEB covers could also 've been graphical designs, just like in the early SEB days. Since woman are now a tradition I think the designers are somewhat forced to use woman as cover-girls. Though, I like the designs of SEB better than any of the other Eurobeat series.

*now wondering when really 'cool' covers will show up again.. And no, not like the VIP Mega Euro Star series! (stupid riced-up cars...)

The moral philosophy of Eurobeat lyrics, eh? :D

Today's world? You sure about that?

I assure u that if italian eurobeat was really marketed towards not teens, but gen-x-ers,then they'd put advertisement not in anime, but in
scotch,beer and peanuts most likely.
If they were after alternative lifestylers, then there 'd be miserable looking
gentlemen on SEB covers,as opposed to familiar overteased and water-tortured SEB ladies.
See, you're using terms and lifestyles that are only present in North America and I don't think you'd argue otherwise if I was to point out that eurobeat is obviously not marketted towards a society in which it is not sold.

Personally, I belevie what little marketting is done for eurobeat, is geared towards twentysomethings of either gender and any orientation in Japan.

Of course, I don't know this, I'm just speculating... but it makes sense, right?

Well, I wouldn't like to comment too much on the Japanese market. But here's the Japanese iTunes store:

yes, but look where it says "todays top songs"
music from other countries might be big in Japan, but Japanese music is still the biggest there.

Well, suggests those marketing categories might exist in Japan. I've seen pictures of Japanese bands with a more "natural" look, not bright colours and candy.

But, OK, #1 on iTMS Japan today:

Hmm, it's funk. Nothing like Eurobeat, but I like it, actually. (A lot better than f***ing Rn'B/hip-hop.)

8) here is a thought that would also appeal to young and OLD, Gays and Lesbians and of course Yours truly.
Since we all pretty much know every vocalists alias; why not post pix of Clara , Dave, Federicco, Simon etc.. It would certainly give Eurobeat a more realistic image with real artists. Heck put Pete Burns on the cover! Anything is better than those computer generated pretty girls(sorry Toni)
