I have a suspicion a "real" SAW collector would say it's not that obscure, but they are known to spend £100 on one single (I don't care to scrape the barrel _that_ much!). But it's from 1985 it seems, really before they made it big time, and was not a big hit, and they had no shortage of those.

Are you kidding? "Touch Me" had Journey and Night Ranger written all overr it. You won't call em Synth pop. You call them Arena Rock. Not exactly Hard Rock(AC/DC) nor classic rock(Boston), but Glam Arena Rock. At least "Touch Me" and "Do Ya" were. After that she became SAW style dance music.

There is no way in hell "Touch Me" by Samantha Fox is any style of Rock - but hey, when SCP and Trance are apparently one and the same, why the hell not eh?

Wow thanks a lot for clarifying all that for me and I had no idea those songs existed except for the DOA one. =o
So I'm assuming Time's I Need A Miracle is a cover of Fortunati's Give Me Up and his is a cover of the bananarama song?

While I was watching that video clip of "I Heard A Rumor"
(oddly enough this is the first time I watched it!), I remembered
seeing ppl dancing with that choreography. That should be one of
the primeurs of parapara.

That's what I heard as well, although I don't know if this is just a rumour (pun intended) or any of the details (e.g., whether they made a settlement or he won the case), but it's an obvious rip-off. Although if the copy I have is actually the original, then SAW did conspiciously improve on it, I think.
I guess it's only because Eurobeat is not exactly in the spotlight (or sales are so low?) that court cases don't occur for some of these new tracks which seem to ride on the edge of infringement?

Back in late 86-89. A high Energy movement in Latino community sprung with groups like S.T.O.P. Tyrants In Therapy, Trilogy, Mike Bow ect.. These songs were danced with heavy arm movement often leading to a kind of duel between two male dancers in the spotlight, until one left the floor defeated. Yours truly was in one of these dance groups(Rendezvous Boys) The dance steps were very Para para but much faster. I notice Para para is very slow and not really to the fast melody of Eurobeat. In fact I could not get into Para Para, as it looks sort of silly at times....
He He! I sometimes reminince my old days and throw my dance moves to Eurobeat. They really go hand in hand.

Heh, even though I've seen that Bananarama music clip a few times, I never really noticed the similarities with Give Me Up... until now
Same thing with the I Should Be So Lucky = Got To Be Your Lover thing. I've heard both songs plenty of times before but I only recognized the similarities when they were pointed out when Kevin Johnson's version was released XD
