Maybe a new compilation altogether, like, uh... Super Euro...(flashy sounding noun here)? It could have every freaking Eurobeat label whose hearts are still beating, give them two or three extendeds and let fly?

Back on topic to SEB 181...

*Time seems to have had an unpredictable streak if you ask me. It's had GREAT songs (Speed Man!!!), FAIR songs (Take A Look In My Heart) and... crap like Bad Bad Bad (It IS a ripoff of Boom Boom fire... it even brings it up in the LINER NOTES!!!)... any takers on how they'll fare this time around?
*HRG has put out some pretty polished songs lately. Do you think the momentum will continue? Will we see a return of more mature, "dark", almost beautiful songs like Midnight Lady, or will the happy nature we know HRG to always deliver keep up in this SEB as well?
*ABeatC has really taken a plunge IMO (Midnight Love and some others notwithstanding). Dave Rodgers, bless his soul, REALLY needs to drop the chord-based sabis and go back to the more "wild", almost manic synths he used in earlier hits. Agree? Disagree? Or would you prefer...
*Go Go's (for the uninitiated, the label that branched from ABeatC talents like Domino and Mega NRG Man) REALLY put the right foot forward in the 170's, few doubts there. However, we haven't really heard too much from Domino herself on some of the more recent tracks. When do you think she'll put out some new material of her own (besides producing other names)?
*SCP... seems fairly consistent so far. Some good songs stood out in the 170's alongside some "meh" ones. Any predictions on LIEK ZOMG HYOOOOOOOOJ hits from SCP in this 'un, or just about a fair level all around?
*Delta. We got some disco, some aggro, some...? Seemed like a rather versatile label last Eurodecade. Whadd'ya guys think: One 'good 'ol Delta' track and one 'disco Delta', or two disco, or two good 'ol...?

Just stuff to talk about, seeing as we're fretting over SEB trackspace in the SEB 181 spot (myself included). Maybe some of this discussion should be shifted to a new topic?

Thanks to save my day but that's not what I meant. What I meant is that the content is too old and pretty much sounds like SEB 60-100 which I don't really like. I like Hi-NRG (music kind) in Eurobeat and that's what keeps me listening to it.
This your opinion, but BOOOO to you for saying that about older or should I say "CLASSIC" Eurobeat.

Speechless!! Utterly speechless!! You just listed the best Time song of the last few years as crap - that makes me sad :(

Btw, I know it's your opinion, so don't flame me.

I hope SCP get back to having more presence on the albums - they were much more fiery and exciting at the start of the 170's (Futureland, Burn Me Up, Viva La Noche) but Avex really made some dodgy selections towards the end (putting Lucya's "Over The Rainbow" and Christine's "Summer Ski" on the same album was a massive error in judgement...) I'm hoping for more Nick Mansell, more Ace (hopefully some cool duets) and of course I'm hoping they continue to develop Pamsy as the premier SCP female :D

HRG Attack were coming back onto the boil by the end of the decade also with Danger In Chinatown, but they need to be a bit more consistant.

Delta had some fantastic tracks - I'm hoping for some more excellent Akyr crossovers (like Iron Man) and more tracks in the style of Mira La Luna.

Time are going from strength to strength also, but they need to leave the dodgy sentimental mush on the back burner and concentrate more on hot high energy anthems (like Bad Bad Bad and Love Me In The Heat Of Night)

A-Beat C are slowly dying I think, which is a shame as they do still have some decent ideas. Go-Go's have stolen many of their best assets though (Manuel being the one I enjoy most) so they need to come up with a slightly new, fresher direction to reinvent themselves during the 180's.

I have to confess, I too haven't had much patience with Time with their track record from the 140s onwards. However 179 was a real eye-opener - I'm not sure if they simply decided to push the volume envelope differently but their songs on that CD were far punchier than anything that had gone previously in the decade, and I was seriously impressed. I'm really hoping that this is a preview of things to come in the 180s and that they keep this new-found level of quality!

because That's my opinion about what he said about the Eurobeat showcased on SEBs 60-100. He has his and I have mine and I don't agree at all. I believe all the eurobeat from Italo -to Hi Energy is essential in the growth of what has made Eurobeat today. Without those classic songs from 60-100, we probly would not have the Eurobeat of today.

I guess I should have expressed it in that way in my earlier post, instead of just booing, but when I read that I said WTF and had to express my dislike...and that' s how I feel. If you want to boo me, go ahead. Big Deal 8)

Yeah, and KL Jones - Come On Come On = Gino Caria - Hold The Line, and Groove Twins - Love Bang Bang = Mela - Help Me. Ofcourse there are more examples. All these songs are equally good, IMO. Is it such a problem that one song sounds like another song once in a while? :?

In any case I'll try to be abit more respectful from now on. Yesterday i wa sin a particularly bad mood if you couldn't tell from that comment and in the other said where I said I was gonna pray for the Dr.'s soul ^-^;

My hopes for each label:

A-Beat C: I don't have much hope left in this label after the horrible direction they've taken during the 170's. Great vocalists gone, originality quickly vanishing, and completely unable to produce quality productions anymore. Even with a grand total of 42 songs over the last decade, I only enjoyed 4 of them (Midnight Love, Shine, Say You'll Be There, and I Feel The Rhythm Tonight). Unless they find a way to quickly revamp their original image, I personally think the remaining staff should just break-up to join other labels (Go Go's, Dima, Akyr, etc.).

Time: Honestly, I don't really enjoy this label's complex sound as much, but unlike A-Beat C, they've only managed to significantly improve during the 170's. I can't really say that Bad Bad Bad was their best effort this year (I enjoyed it, but I thought there was something really disonant about its melody and production, and that's not because it's inspired by Boom Boom Fire), but I was completely astonished by Love Is Like A Fever, Doctor Doctor 2007, and Music Fever. If they can just put a bit of oomph into their mature sound, I think they'll really be able to pull things off fabulously during the 180's. Less Helena, more Erika (alternately for Gambogi, less Kasanova, more Mr. M/Energy Man).

Delta: Ever since Clara joined the production team here, Delta's sound has suddenly gone from light and outdated to completely fresh and powerful. With the exception of the complete disaster that was Die Die, I think just about everything this label released was quite solid. Fast-paced energy joints such as Mira La Luna, Bach Is Back, and Frontal Impact should continue to appear in the near future.

SCP: Slightly lacking during the 170's, but still going as strong as ever. If only they'd finally bring back Go 2 after their hiatus following Power, they'd feel perfectly complete. They can really pull of some utterly fantastic music. Ace was at leat one of the best vocalists during the 170's, so I truly hope SCP won't decide to completely neglect him during the 180's.

Hi-NRG Attack: They're steadily improving their sound and began experimenting a little further during the 170's, which is a good sign. After Get A Boom, I hope to hear more from their female crew in the future (especially Bazooka Girl), and hopefully the males will continue to perform as furiously as they did on Danger In Chinatown and On The Road Again To The Show, and as crazily as they were on Sucka Sucka Pizza.

Go Go's Music: This label makes up for A-Beat C's lack of quality and has a share of some of the best eurobeat vocalists around. I'd love to hear more from Betty Beat, as well as familiar assests such as Manuel, Mega NRG Man, and especially Domino. Oh goodness, Domino. Eurobeat just isn't the same without her around.
