I decided to revive this thread, because I listening to a bunch of ABeatC's intros. I made a small list of Intros that I concider good and was surprised to see how far back I actually had to go to hear an AbeatC intro that I really liked. Of course, there are many other songs that I like , but just think the intros are out of place.

I guess SEB 178 would be the last TIME I heard a good intro. It was really short, but Powerful T.'s - Glorious intro really captured the power and speed of the song.

For a female song I had to go back to 172 for Nuage - Shine. Dave uses the light keyboard tricks , but this TIME ina catchy jumpy fasion. The funny thing is the last good Power house intro for a female ABeatC songs was probly Micky B. -Call Me Now, and most definately Nuage- Let's Go Dee Jay. We are talking the 150's. I sure wish Dave would resort to intros like those as well as those older synths.

These I concider Powerhouse intros or intros that really fit the song. In backward order of SEB order.

1. Powerful T.- Glorious(SEB178)
2. Nuage- Shine(SEB173)
3. Mega NRG Man- In The Sunrise(SEB173)
4. Manuel- Sun In The Rain(SEB167)
5. NEO- I Was Born For Burning(SEB163)
6. Giacomo Caria- Bang Bang Boom Boom(161)
7. NEO- Go Go Money(SEB159)
8. Nick Key- Speed Of Light(SEB158)
9. Micky B.- Call Me Now(SEB158)
10.Mega NRG Man- Supertronic Lady(SEB157)
11.Nuage- Let's Go Deejay(SEB157)
12.Freddy Rodgers- R U Ready(SEB157)

At this point I realize all his intros were good back then.

With the exception of Glorious, all of those songs were made when Sandro Oliva was working at A-Beat C. I think Shine was the last Nuage song he worked on.
You can hate me but you know you have quality issues =p

The introductions are really all they need to work on nowadays if they keep up the level they set on SEB 188.

I found all their introductions worked perfectly on 188. Although the introductions to "Go Go Champion" and "Up & Down Spin Me Like A Record" were forgettable at best, they still embody what the rest of those tracks are about unlike most of their other productions during the 180s. I'd say the same for Norma, I guess, but Pasquini and Raimondi always find it easier to create those types of intros for mellow-sounding artists.

They may have finally understood the crux to the problem if 188 is anything to go by. I suppose we'll see the long-term progress in another 12 months' time.

Mm. I do like how they're beginning to use some of the older synths, too. I missed that sabi sound, and I'm glad it's coming back to us.

Except... I want moar Dave Rodgers songs! The only thing really missing about their way back up into quality is the man himself! I hope he's got a few songs socked away... if it's anything like The VIP is JP, I'll be interested and into it. :3

So it's safe to say that Sandro Oliva was responsible for the intros. Seems Dave was asleep during Eurobeat intros 101.LOL!

I guess Norma's intro was pretty nice, but still miles away form the magic of the 150s.

Hmm.. Am I the only one who actually likes the slower, poppy, and even sometimes jazzy intros? ):

I could honestly listen to an entire hour of The VIP is JP-(pre)intro. :3

LOVED that intro, at least for the laser effect JUST before the first Sabi, almost as if to say "Psyche, suck'a. NOW watch what I'm gonn'a do."

They are not bad per say. I just think they fit better songs for Norma, Nuage and Dave duos, than they do artists like Manuel, Matt Land, Ace Warrior, ect...

The main problem is that they are so out of place in faster songs, that the riff just usually comes out of nowhere. Now that we are getting extendeds on SEB, some of those intros just give the song a halting effect making the transition difficult to accept. At least that's how I feel.

Totally agree with this statement. I remember complaining about intros a lot lately, and not with only A-Beat C. A slow intro for a fast song usually breaks down the structure of the song too much to make it fitting.

The one time I can remember a slow intro being extremely effective was for Leslie Parrish / Remember Me - love that ballad-style intro! :D

Agreed with that totally; Donna's Lover Boy with that amazing guitar has to be mentioned as well!
