Mark Farina - Rock Of Love
Those synths are very energetic, and this song was already rather fast in those days. 138 bpm may sound slow now but it wasn't back in 1990. Excellent break and even though this song is more than 7 minutes, it doesn't bore me any second. Asia did a great job with the intro and breaks. I do miss those bright beats and galloping baseline, and no off beat open hihat for a change :)

Boom Boom Dollars (Red Monster 2000 Mix) by King Kong & D.Jungle Girls
is my song for today
I wonder if that's the same version that appears on the Boom Boom Beat vinyl ? If it is, then I beleive it was a very good transition from 1987 to 2000s Eurobeat
I don't know, but it's on the best of called "King Kong Greatest Hits". Here it is on Youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-BVUfDMPbs

Higher & Higher / Lolita

Without a doubt, my favorite track from Elena Gobbi's enormous catalogue of great songs. Here, she showcases her vocal abilities at their greatest without going over the top. On top of that, you also have some of the best production of any track by A-Beat C, complete with a firm, pounding beat; sharp, tight synths; and just the perfect mastering to give it a lot of edge. More than almost anything else, this song feels empowering to me. Probably this is a fairly odd allusion, but listening to it makes me want to lift at the gym (which I just did earlier today).
