I understand Avex doesn't want to take any risks, but for us young listeners to have such difficulties and spend money we do not have in accessing the same music is frustrating. And it is not that hard to make them available digitally, as xiao said. But seriously, I do not understand this "eurobeat purism". Eurobeat was first european, and then Japanese. Just as xiao, I am into pop music as well and maybe this makes me more flexible in my way of understanding any genre of music. I do not see the problem of eurobeat opening up to the Western fans again, without forgetting their Japanese essence. I do not want (that's for sure) Eurobeat to be a mainstream genre, because any genre which reachs the mainstream is destroyed. But let's be serious, since when taking into account a few Western consumers directly makes a genre reach the mainstream? Eurobeat could not be listened on TOP40s radios even if it was sold outside of Japan because it is to "strange" to reach a wide Western audience. But it could reach a smaller western audience and have a bigger scene that now, still in the underground. And this would be no harm to the genre and maybe we could get 18 tracks per SEB and 10 SEBs per year *wet panties*

When on CD Japan appeared a notice regarding forbidden sale to overseas I read soon about some ideas of foundation a american Eurobeat series.

Currently we have several home composers around the world just imitating various Eurobeat trends, but I guess neither of them seriously don't pretend to replace, create a counterpart of the genre, which within the last 30 years been dedicated one market and produced by Italians most of the time, because otherwise would be killed maximum in 1992.

I even don't want to think how commedial would be a copy of such till now conditioned mature genre, if a group of fans, young artists would make an effort to create a new competitive version of something they in fact missed as strangers.

Reading some opinions so far, I can suspect that "this" new Eurobeat would be partly a private favor for friends who haven't money for import CDs, they aren't so much interested the past years although they missed them, and even if, they can't imagine that Eurobeat could end up some day.

It would be fake of Eurobeat without chance to gain anything, because the best chances and years have passed already and this is exactly the trace which original Eurobeat leaves.

Better respect the remained offer.

Passion and love to music isn't everlasting waiting for news. Italo Disco and Eurodance/Euro House are the closest examples. Fans collect old records, read old articles, attend in evens of inactive artists though and that's it, not trying to invent how resurrect dead period and former fame by a copy outside of the historical market, to satisfy different community.

Just to be realistic and serious...
